When I went to see it, an audience member got a ridiculous word that was obviously to get her out of the bee, but she guessed and got it right! It was hilarious! XD
Our family saw the musical twice on Broadway and once on tour. They pick three people from the audience...chosen before the show. Absolutely hilarious. We have had the soundtrack in our car since we saw it the first time. Loved it.
My mom is in this right now(just a community theater). She plays Rona. Gosh, her Pandemonium is awesome! You've got Olive on top of Leaf's shoulders and dunking a basketball, two people on ropes, Barfee dancing on top of Rona and Panch's desk and Chip flying running around the audience. I got to dance with them because I was a volunteer one night.
i did this play. i was the comfort counselor. i tear up just watching this play. i had what one could potentially call the smallest part (depends on who you're talking to). But i loved every minute of it, especially my solo. it was fun.
I just saw this @ La Mirada. Really funny and what a great experience to be one of the audience spellers. They gave me COW and some crazy word. Crizzlemum?!
i live in the town where this play was originally written and workshopped and it came back this april. i went to go see it and it was soooo good. definitely one of my favorite musicals
I'm glad you liked it! But in all honesty it wasn't at all our best show. I hope you did come to tonight's (Saturday's) performance because it was MUCH better! Thanks for coming, though! ^_^
@@slodkokwasnyrekin theres a recording of this performance. it’s on youtube. this was in 2005. either OOBC or OBC but either way it’s the original cast
I'm curious to know, if you saw a non-OBC cast, did they have an epilogue of sorts at the end where the characters say what happens to them? If so, I want to see if they said the same stuff as the OBC(or if it was improv). All I remember was: Barfee didn't get far at the next bee, Chip learned to embrace his erection and find others who appreciated it (then he looked at Marcy), Marcy became an unsuccessful author, Panch fell in love with Ms. Peretti, and she got a restraining order against him.
@BroadwayBaby98 Audience members. Before the show if you want to be a "speller" you put your name on the list and if you get chosen you go backstage where they ask you to ask for a definition and use in a sentence if you are called to the mic. Then as the show progresses they get eliminated.
I saw this on broadway and at the end of the song the cast came out in the audience and gave people cards with weird words with the definition and a sentence. Then Logan threw her stack at me.
This is a show where each character is basically a lead. Chip isn't the Leading Man, but he has a solo, and has to sing a lot of high notes. It's a good part though.
wait. I may sound really stupid :P and I know alot about broadway... but the dude who is number 4 in the begining did they just pull the guy from his seat? I just never seen the show I'm just wondering lol
I'm going to be Logainne in this with my highschool in canada. We're making it canadian. Its so funny, our Leaf is a girl because it fit WAY more. Its gonna be random.
the way these specific people make harmonies is literally amazing
the poor, confused audience members! i love the guy who plays chip! his and olive's voices give me chills! :)
My very FIRST Broadway show ever. Absolutely loved everything about it. So freakin hilarious!
Just got cast as Olive in this show! So excited for Pandemonium!
i love how insane this song gets at the end, when chip is swinging on the rope :) i really want to be in the musical soooo badly xD
it’s the way they all sit down at the end for me
I looooooooooove this show. My rehearsals start in a weeeeek. I'm playing Chip. :)

i love Mitch, the comfort counseler. haha hes hilarious.
he gives the failures
this song is hilarious and the most entertaining thing to watch ever. love this play!!
I’m certain these actors were cherishing this opportunity to torment these audience members
I am also an actor. We’re all like this.
the ways they involve the three audience members in the choreography are so good!
Time stamp? I haven’t noticed it lol
Edit: also how are they involved? Like what do they do?
@@superawesomezebra3857 2:13 the 3 people in the middle
they're pressured into dancing with everyone and then laughed at by the cast lmao
They choose three people from the audience before the show. We saw it twice on Broadway and once on tour. Wonderful!

"Someone splee crayon!"
LMAO

THIS IS AMAZING! :D I can't believe how well they sing live. My school is doing this as well!
I saw this off broadway in New York a few years back, probably the best and funniest show I've ever seen.
I'll soon be Coneybear in this musical in my school. Can'y wait
Those people on stage must be like " WTF "
We're doing this for our group musical for convention competition.:) its gonna be freaking awesome
I'll soon be Barfee in my school's production!! Can't wait :) such a great show
Well, how’d that end up going!
i love olive out of all people attacks the counselor guy
I love this show!!!! One of my friends got picked to go up there! They made her spell Fandango.
Man, I really miss doing this show. We used COW, and elephant later on I think, but it was so good! Listened to the soundtrack again, great show :D
This is the Best. Play. Ever. EVER!
Leaf here, week away from opening
I would do anything to be in this xD
My class is doing this. I'mma play Coneybear xD
This was such a good show
HAHA, I love this. I get to see it in April and I'm so excited.
imagine if he spelled elephant wrong though... would the number just not happen?
he probably was instructed on how it’d go
in the script it says to do the goodbye song and then go straight into pandemonium
@DaKrazedKyubizt The Prayer of the Comfort Counselor is an amazing song! Love it!
I'm glad you liked it! But in all honesty it wasn't at all our best show. I hope you did come to tonight's (Saturday's) performance because it was MUCH better! Thanks for coming, though! ^_^

My Dance Acadamy is doing this, this year :D I can't wait! Go Five flags dance Acadamy!!
oh god I love this show!!!
Hahaha after a whole lot of drama and such, I get to play Leaf in this musical! (at VVHS)
This song is so much fun to do. :-D
Lol I just got cast Schwazy, so excited!!!

Me and this other girl have to sing this song, just us two. I love this song so much!!
jesse. tyler. ferguson.
Barfeé is the hardest, you need a tenor/baritone with belt
And thats rare, to find a bari with belt, you'd usually need to look to opera
Chip sings high as hell.
I love this song... we're doing the play at our school, and I'm on Synthesizer. good gawd I don't like the part, but it's incredibly fun
@starquisha99
that's what they have in the script, but the authors notes say you can do other words that are easy to spell
My school is doing this in a few weeks! I just came from rehearsal!
my school did this play. it was really good and i laughed the entire time
i want a full boot of this :((

im excited !
that's a hell of a name! but i kinda love her!
Go Jose Llana! :D
I get to play piano for this play. It will be epic.
i got cast as coneybear cant wait
Was this recorded in Boston? I saw the show seven times in Boston in late 2007. Always either first or second row center.
this was an off broadway show i believe back in 2005
im not a huge fan of the original cast, but I F***ING LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!
Cool alot of people doing this play at their schools! My school is doing this too ,but I'm an understudy:(

MY OH MYYYYY!!
It can't have been Sacramento, it's a different cast.
I was the one who spelled cow (elephant in this case) when I saw it in Sacramento :D
I love this show :) You don't happen to have the full video, do you? I'm willing to trade you for it, just pm me and let me know.
I'm Barfee in this show!
mY SCHOOL IS DOING THIS PLAY RIGHT NOW =] i'M STOKED
Did you film this yourself, or find it somewhere? Do you know where I can find the entire video of the show (if there is one)?
wait. I may sound really stupid :P and I know alot about broadway... but the dude who is number 4 in the begining did they just pull the guy from his seat? I just never seen the show I'm just wondering lol
I play Logainne Swartzandgrubinierre! : )
I go to Victor 2! Hi !
I knew that word!
I love Dan Fogler!!!!
i remember being called up at my school. at no point (even when i was in the audience) could i understand what the vp was saying, so i got it wrong :(
lol i just saw a high school production of this show and they used the word "cow" instead of elephant
Lol I was a speller at a local theater and I got cow.
This isn't playing on broadway anymore, is it?
I saw this once, but I really want to see it again
Anyone know where I could?
they did do an epilogue but I don't remember what they said cause I saw the show a year and a half ago
@miduchalan1 the same thing happened when i went!
they called her back up and give her an even harder word
@AverageWizard100 I sing songs at people when I get angry or happy. Just make sure you get away quickly.
I'm going to be Logainne in this with my highschool in canada. We're making it canadian. Its so funny, our Leaf is a girl because it fit WAY more. Its gonna be random.
Does anyone know who the audience member who spells elephant is? He looks like someone I know
It's me, Andy Voss!
Could have been Sacramento. I saw it there and this looks almost exactly the same.
New York actually...Josh Gadd in it!
@thecatvideos101 When she spelled that word right, they gave her another word and they counted it wrong even though she spelled it right.
Does anyone know the date of this show?
yu mean in the play or in real life.
In the Australian production William was played by a woman!
I am playing Logainne at school =]
Seuss is as awesome as any other play!! Don't hate the Who's!!
i never seen the show so i don't get that joke at all...what does it mean? and i'm actually asking not being sarcastic.
What about those who can't sing?
@AradEliacin GOOD LUCK!!!!1!!1!
Who are you? :D
@HerbieBaby123 Leaf has a solo too, although I like Chip's better.
i'm rona :)
its not supposed to be THAT wild.. its supposed to be normal, but not so normal
well, this is the original production, so...
I don’t mean to be harsh but the beginning was so flat by both Chip and Olive.
OBC?
School did this. lol
