Hi, Pamela The song is "Don't Tell Mama" by Kandar & Ebb from (of course) Cabaret--for some odd reason it was left out of the movie! One of the very best songs, if not the very best of them all.

Keara Nelson it happens early in the show. Protagonist Cliff has just arrived in Berlin, rented a room, and made a couple of new friends. He then goes to the Kit Kat Club, and watches Sally perform this song.
Considering this is the first time we see Sally it should be pretty obvious. Context clues are an amazing thing! I learned about them in like 5th grade ...
we did cabaret for our high school spring musical. best production we've ever done
AH. Always been my favorite song in Cabaret. THATS how that number is supposed to be done.
I love itt :D Gina was amazing!
she was AMAZING...great job!

The scene right after the first scene of Cliff in his apartment. Just after Fräulein Schneider sings So What.

I thought Alan Cumming played Emcee in the revival...
He did. Raul replaced him after he left and closed the production.
@CuteOnBroadway is a bob fosse thing

yea, thats true.
BIG BIG QUESTION, was this a school/college performance? or one on broadway etc? :)
where in the plot does this song come up?

well this is not modern times, this was extremely promiscuous are risque for the time period
Sorry but Amanda Palmer done a better job. More animated/into it.
Natasha Richardon is much much better! (I think.)
We did this at my camp broadway dreams.. and it was much sassier and sexier. this just doesnt impress me. its still a great song tho
i think it's broadway but that sally is not good at all... i hope she is an understudy...
Gina Gershon ain't no understudy.
The role of sally isnt supposed to be a good singer
