Man your route is where I live. I’d almost come over to Gordon if I had your route lol I I’m a FedEx Express class a driver which called a RTD Ramp Transport Driver. Airport ramp to courier stations. Then a little bit of LTL pickups and delivery. I started in mobile but then transferred to New Orleans but I still live in Long Beach. So it’s a drive. Holding my position to see what’s going to happen when we finally start longhaul to the hub and back.
I got my first job driving a route when I was in my 40’s, no lie man it almost killed me. I was at the yard at 2 am and wouldn’t get finished until around 3pm, every guy I worked with had bad knees, backs, elbows etc. it was horrible. Not trying to be a downer but just letting others know not all of them are good food service companies like GFS.
Got an interview with US Foods Friday and PFG Monday I'm excited I can't wait to get back into touch freight. Currently doing enclosed car hauling it is fun it's nice but my body isn't ready to slow down just yet!

I will be a new CDL A Driver out of CDL School, I have tried Sysco PFG MB no such luck they will not hire me need 6 mo's. experience at least I even tried XPO Logistics same thing 6 mo's. Seems like it is really tough to live in Las Vegas and find a company that will take you out of CDL School.
Find out what jobs in your area will hire inexperienced drivers & apply to each company. For example, some foodservice companies, beverage companies, LTL companies, etc. will all hire new drivers depending on the company. Just do a little research. Good luck
I work between 40-44hrs a week. I’m on a 2 day route so on Day 1 (Mon & Thur) my shift is typically between 2:30am-11am. On day 2 (Tue & Fri) my shift is between 11:30pm-8:30am. I run a local route on Wednesday’s from 2:30am-10:30am. Off weekends

I don’t disclose my salary but chain delivery drivers can make anywhere from 80k-100k+ Just depends on your route & location. Also, yes I’m still able to hit the gym during the week.
@Truckinwitray no, it doesn’t work that way. Sometimes you could get asked to help out another driver if they’re running behind or something but that’s about it. If you have a lot of cases and stops you’ll definitely get your time in, trust me 😂

If you’re able to get in touch with a recruiter, that’s your best bet. That’s how I did mine.

Yep..It’s plenty of parking in different areas. I’m usually the first or second driver at the hotel in a CMV so it’s never an issue
