Thanks for sharing, the 5D Classic really is something special! I have been shooting with it since 2009, and have compared it to around 20 newer cameras - 10 of them I have owned and most of them sold after some use. None of them, including the EOS R, was even close to the "magic mojo" of the 5D. I've given up on all "upgrade" plans and decided to stick with the 5D for the next 10-20 years :) For me all the other digital files is "lacking" compared to the Classic, so now it is only 5D + some film shooting for me. Again, thanks for sharing - and that 40 mm lens is brilliant!
Thank you for sharing your camera experiences and your views on the 5D Classic 👍 I like your saying “magic mojo” for the 5D 😁 I too have had and still have other cameras, including film, but the 5D is the one I hold very dear and continue to invest in. Yes, the 40mm is such a gem of a lens 😎

Great to hear that you enjoyed using the 5D classic for your photography commissions and that this video has rekindled your interest in using it again. It's always nice to have a camera that is simple and a joy to work with producing unique-looking images. Best of luck in your search for another one or three of these cameras 😎
I fell in love with the Voigtlander 40 mm f/2.0 Ultron SL II lens (available with Canon EF mount). As a semi-manual lens (aperture set in camera, focus - manually) it definitely slows me down, but that's good - I put more thoughts into my photos.
I love the simplicity of the camera! I have been shooting for a little over a year and it has helped me move from learning exposure with the camera to focusing on composition and style quicker. I tend to make my photos about 1/3-2/3 stop dark in AV mode to help with highlights and darken shadows because I live in a desert area with lots of sun and hard shadows.
I’m late to the comment party here, but I too love my Canon 5DC which I bought in 2010 as a move up from a Canon 50D. A couple of years after purchase the rear screen failed. I could still see the histogram and menus, but the image quality became unusable. I shelved it and purchased a 6D around 2012. Also a brilliant simple camera. It had more features but I found it to be similar in colour output. This camera was stolen in 2017 and replaced with a 5DMark IV, but I never really loved this camera and sold it, and all but one lens (the 40 mm pancake) in 2021 and moved to Olympus M43. At the same time I realized that I should forget about chimping and trust the histogram on the Canon Classic. So I dusted it off and shot some tests with the 40 mm lens fixed to it. When I loaded the images to my computer, finally being able to see the captures, I grew incredibly excited. The images caught by that lens and body combo were glorious! I love my Olympus gear, but this gem of a camera and lens combo are my frequent EDC setup. I plan to buy another body in the event this one fails completely. Not being able to see the images on the camera screen makes it like a bit of a through-back to the film days reliving the excitement of seeing your results when the pictures came back from the lab.
Such a fantastic journey you've had with your Canon 5D Classic! It's always interesting to hear about the evolution of gear and how different cameras shape our photography experiences. I agree there's something special about the anticipation and surprise when you finally get to see your results on the computer 😊 Wishing you many more great shots and exciting moments with your Canon 5D Classic and the 40 mm pancake of course 🙌
I also use a Canon mirrorless system, but at the end of the day if I come home with some shots taken with my 5D Classic no matter what EF lens I used I have to say: these photos stand out. There's something unique to them, hard to describe and way beyond all technical stuff, something emotional... Really appreciate your videos, keep going!
I loved my 5D combined with the 35/1.4 and 135/2. Pure magic coming out of this combination. The camera has been upgraded to a 5D II, and an R in the last couple of years. When I see an affordable 5D popping up somewhere, I will buy it again.
I was bought 5d classic in 2018 year and sold around 2020. I have previously Canon 7d, 40d still have 5dm3, 1dx, Nikon d200, d700 and today arrived 5d classic again. I was regretting and honestly this camera is like old Mercedes mint condition which you feel is not modern, is not fast but give you this mechanical analog feeling how everything works perfectly. The shutter sound and feel is amazing. The simplicity and pure photography experience is so close to analog era. But this camera is not everyone and have lots of limitations. Personally another Legend Nikon d700 is much modern camera but 5d classic for me is gkued to the hand and grip is perfect so comfortable. Im so glad I bought again ❤
Not much to add. You said it all, perfectly. It's just a beautiful camera and, if you can deal with its sturdier form factor, a pure joy to shoot with the added bonus of magical file output.
I picked one up couple months ago in mint condition for £100. A 50mm 1.8 for £60. Just love it. The shutter is load but sounds great. Your vlogs are excellent so keep them coming.
@@jd5787you got a bargain too, a 6D with 1.8k shutter actuations is really a new camera. I got one for $115usd, but with 120.000 shutter actuations and very very ugly exteriors, with dings and scratches, rubbers separating from the body, missing small parts, etc. Still working flawlessly.
Unfortunately my camera fel down twice causing a very small crack . I still use it and it still works great! its what they call: "built as a tank". @@paulappleby2729
details, details....the pix speak to the genius of this wonderful camera. I prefer my D700 for the same reason....nothing in the Nikon lineup since the D700/D3 gives me the color rendition close to the kodachrome 25s I shot on my F and F2.
love your videos. I still have my 5D, consigned to the old camera cabinet... the oldest camera in my cabinet is an old Zeiss Ikon, I never used it though, my father gave it to me and my grandfather used it about 80 years ago. My oldest camera that I actually used was the Minolta X700, I toured Africa with it in 1990. I also have older SLRs like the Minolta SR-2 for the fun of it (first Minolta SLR, a 2nd hand purchase on ebay) you should hear the massive clunk that makes when the shutter fires!
Thank you for sharing your amazing camera collection and their histories 😮 I found a video on the Minolta Sr-2s shutter sound, which sounds very similar to an open die forging hammer 😄
Good job! I have mine for so many years now and always come back, if I want to take great pictures with character. The colors...it has that special look. The newer ones all look the same. Perfect and clean. And as you said, the limitations will let you focused on the main things. Go ahead and keep shooting!
I have previously used the 5D in a studio setting, but never out and about. Just purchased one and waiting for it to arrive. Can't wait to get out and shoot with this classic camera.
I just got a 5d with only 50,000 shutter clicks on it a few days ago for $150 USD, and absolutely love it! I've found that if I use center-weighted metering, that will take care of 90% of my metering needs on this camera, so even though this camera is more basic and requires more thinking, at the same time, it is more freeing. It really takes me back to when photography was so much simpler! I love my 6d, and I can push it much farther than the 5D, but there is something different and special about the way the 5D shoots and the way the photographs look......I can't tell you exactly what it is, but there is a difference. There is definitely more grain/noise at high ISO, but I use Exposure X7 editing software, and it does an amazing job of controlling the noise, and it makes it look more like film grain than noise. When using canon prime lenses wide open, there is a hint of vignette on the edges, which just adds to the overall look that I like. I like to compare the 5D and 6D like this: my 6D is like a modern sports car, and the 5D is like an older work truck......they are very different from each other, and each has it's own purpose, but both do their job very well.
Hi Robert, I’m happy to hear from you again and thanks for your update on your 5D Classic experience. You got a really great deal on your 5D, I’m always on the lookout for buying another 5D as a backup, but I still haven’t found one ‘that’ new yet. I agree, it’s very liberating to have a camera that doesn’t do absolutely everything for us. I sometimes describe my 5D as a film camera that just so happens to have a back LCD 😄 The images it produces are very hard to describe to someone who has never used a 5D, but to us, the images are ‘one of a kind’ 😍 If I really have to shoot in low light, very rare, the noise at 1600 doesn’t look too bad in colour nor black and white, but 3200 then the choice for me is only black and white. Editing software is pretty great at cleaning up the noise though, which is also a good option to have 👍 Such a perfect analogy for describing the 5D and the 6D 😄 so very true, all the best 🙏
Are you still using the 5d and the 6d? I'm deciding if I should buy the 5d (I currently have a 6d as well) I really want to achieve the "film" look without using film because the cost is just too much to keep developing. I know ive read all kinds of stuff online but since you also had a 6d like me, would you really say that the 5d can get some special film looking shots that aren't possible on the 6d? Thank you!
I also recommend that you buy a fully manual film camera like I did with the FM2. That way the lack of batteries won't prevent you from taking photos. The FM2 uses small batteries to operate the metering system. I don't the cameras metering system I use a Sekonic L358 to meter all of my shots.
I started off with a 5D MkII about 2 years ago but, as my main interest was street photography, I soon succombed to the much smaller, lighter and easier to use Fujifilm X series cameras. I can't bear to part with it though and get it out of the bag now and then but its so much heavier that it goes back in the bag!
Thank you for your comment, George. The Fujifilm X-Series has a great selection of cameras and lenses that are for sure far lighter than the 5D. When I plan to go out on the street with the 5D, to balance the weight, I only chose one lens to go out with and my backpack only carries the essentials. I do have other lighter cameras in my collection, but it’s always the 5D that I chose 90% of the time 😊
When I migrated from the hopeless Nikon DSLR's I bought three 5D MK1 bodies. First of the full frame DSLRs I believe. They were fantastic. I now use R6s but I still have a MK1 6D to snap me back to reality!
The Canon Mark II is a great camera - there's no reason to complain, it does a great job. It's always surprised me how I can push the sensor in various light, and turn out some great shots. I bought a Canon Mark Iv a year ago, thought I'd sell the Mark II, but, just couldn't let it go. Nice video, thanks, Sean
Hi Sean, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Even though these cameras have aged, very gracefully I might add, my Canon 5D is still the benchmark against which all my other cameras are measured 😀 All the best to you!
I used to have one, but it broke down mid-wedding, and after that I got a second hand 5Dmk2 instead. My MK2 is still working and I use it as my primary backup body.... (my 1DX is my primary)
Hi, i am a 5d classic user and i just saw your channel. Nice to find you! The sutter sound in your video is almost identical to Jean Michel Jarre's "Souvenir of China", an 1981 album recorded live from concerts in China. This sound is so close!
I'm so happy you found my channel, also great to hear from another 5D Classic user 👍 I have just listened to the song and you're completely right, haha! 😀
Certainly the camera of my love. I have 5 other bodies including two pro grade DSLRs. Nevertheless, Canon 5D Classic is the camera that stays with me all the time. Because it's making me a better photographer each day. Lack of Auto ISO, Video option, Tilt-screen, Live view are great plus points for me. This is a pure photographer's camera. I love every bit of it. As a hobbyist; I use it for landscape, street photography and occasional indoor portraiture purposes. Always shoot in RAW. In post; just convert it to jpeg after making slight adjustments of white balance. Due to its bigger pixels; it's better in low-light and dynamic range. Highest ISO upto 3200 is not a problem at all. Because I shoot landscape and street scenes in good daylight wherein high ISO is unnecessary. While indoors; I use a flash for shooting my images. Bottomline: Canon 5D Classic is the best Canon camera for photographers.
Thanks for posting about this old camera. I will get one next week. I have become addicted to film cameras and old digitals cameras. The 5D will compete with my Nikon D700. I can't wait to compare these two. But that shutter sound is stange?
Happy you enjoyed the video, also good to hear about another Canon 5D Classic owner 😎 The Nikon D700 is a great camera to compare. I hope the 5D shutter sound grows on you once you have it in your hands, enjoy! 😊 All the best 👍
The 5D classic was my first full frame digital camera and it made me shift from Nikon to Canon. It’s an excellent camera. And the shutter sound is really something!
I super regret selling my 5D. So much so that I think I'm going to get another one. I can get a body and 50mm 1.8 cheaper than getting a 35mm (50mm equivalent) lens for my Fuji XT3. Some of my favourite photos were taken on the 5D.
I shoot with a 5D mark ii and I feel the exact same way I love shooting in manual mode constantly challenging Myself too have all the right settings to nail the shot and when you nail it oh boy what a satisfying feeling that feels like an addiction
The reality is that the performance of the classic 5D is more than adequate for almost everything. It represents the first full frame digital camera within reach of consumers. The limitations of the 5D are real, but also a reminder that the photographer should make decisions. You decide, are you after shadows or highlights, do you need or want or will a higher ISO work, is your shutter speed what you need, if the thing is moving -how best to capture it. It can be a pain, but it makes you think. The lousy screen makes you wonder about things and discourages you away from too much chimping and more thought toward best exposure. The jpeg engine allows you to make your own adjustments to flavor the output to your unique taste, while not unique in that control, for the 5D classic that control makes for a nice use for your own flavor out of camera. The first Leica has its own charm, as does the first iteration of many things. The 5D will never be repeated. Trust me on this, from one second to the next things are never the same, SO, photography captures a moment in an eternal flow of time. Each camera, with its unique sensor is its own signature, like a unique film, only one that exists for a brief time. The subtle nature of some differences will be lost on many, but, there's nothing subtle about the 5D classic. It IS definitely its own thing. I like it for its simple menu, its limited ISO and its limited resolution. Best of all, all the Canon glass for it. Good work, best wishes!
Hi John, a pleasure to hear from you again, always good to hear your thoughts 😊 You speak the truth when you say the 5D will never be repeated. Knowingly I have a camera that is this unique, historically included, that I shoot with almost every day is something that I do not take for granted. All the best! 🙏
Been shooting with this for awhile and I figured out the best way to shoot is ETTR and correct the exposure in post. This is not the camera to bring up shadows in post with. Whenever i shoot ETTR even at high ISO my raw files still look very clean.
Hey Paul, I loved seeing your 5D Classic shots and why you love it. I got one in April and I ordered a 40 mm lens for it, I thought that it was cool that you were using a 40 mm with it as well. I have some really cool shots I’ve taken with it. I really enjoy it. I have not edited any of the photos so that would be interesting to see how much better they can be. I’m new to shooting manual so I’m doing a lot of guessing and trial and error. If you’re interested I could share some shots with you. I would love to get your opinion. Thanks for sharing!
So happy to hear you bought and enjoying the Canon 5D Classic as well as the 40mm 👍 I would be happy to look at your shots, please let me know where I can view them, thanks 😎
Just got one a month ago and I’m sorry I didn’t get one years ago. The images it produces are quite something. Such an enjoyable camera to use, everything you need and nothing you don’t.
I've had mine a couple of weeks. Loving it being so stripped back. The images are brilliant and that shutter sound. God, I'm in love with that shutter sound.
You use it because it works. There is no reason to get rid of a camera due to a little age. I use a fully manual Nikon FM2 the photos it produces are as amazing as they were when the camera was first introduced. You should use the camera until it breaks or you are unable to find any replacement batteries.
Love my 5DC. I find the images at 1600 iso very pleasing equaling my higher megapixel d7100. The only aspect I haven’t figured out is how to shoot landscapes without overexposing the sky due to its limited dynamic range. But I love it otherwise
5D Classic is definitely a photographers camera. It's heavy, loud and lacks a lot of the creature comforts a lot of modern cameras have. Despite all of this we keep coming back. For me the canon 5d was the first camera I bought that actually made me feel like I was taking professional quality photos. I had owned other DSLR's prior to this one such as the D300 but this camera started getting me the paid work. I also remember the day I took this camera to a fashion show. I was mid show when... the mirror came off! Not to worry. Apparently this was a known issue. Cannon took care of the entire repair at no cost. This was a shock to me because the camera was pretty old at this point. If you want a beautiful camera that will take beautiful photos while teaching you the fundamental joys that photography has to offer, then look no further then the Canon 5D classic.
Thank you so much, really enjoyed reading about your Canon 5D Classic story 😎 You are so right, it is most certainly a photographer’s camera 📸 I have other more modern cameras in my collection, but the 5D is what I shoot with the most 😊
Awesome video as usual Paul! Every one I watch about the 5D validates my enjoyment shooting it! I recently struggled doing some "pro work" with mine as the back was difficult to check critical focus (architectural shots) and low and behold, the af nailed pretty much all of them stopping down around F8 on a tripod. I like your stealthy tape mods. I might have to do the same to mine. I am debating picking up a battery grip but that would kind of defeat the compact nature of using the 40mm lens I suppose lol.
Thank you, Cody. I feel there is a big community of 5D classic users out there who really enjoy using this camera. I haven’t met any on the streets here yet though. There are a lot of 5D Mark 4 as well as Nikon D850 users. I do get people coming up to me from time to time asking what camera I have, the answer always raises a smile with them saying, ‘time to upgrade your camera’ 😄 I have never had any issues with the autofocus in this camera, given the style that I shoot. If I was offered portrait or architectural work, I wouldn’t hesitate, there really is a high level of trust I have with this camera. The screen on the back, it’s good for basic information, but checking critical focus…not so good. Black tape combined with the 40mm, people don’t even realise I have a camera 😂 Happy shooting Cody 📸
@@paulappleby2729 isn't it hilarious how the general population perceives there's innately something wrong with having an older camera and that it wasn't a conscious choice? I can't stand the keeping up with the joneses attitude of gear in photography. I will never be able to afford the newest and greatest fuji camera out there which was why I sold my XT2 to get out of that ecosystem where you constantly upgrade and compare. That said, I am finding more interest in the "vintage" category of Dslrs now lol...curious about the Nikon D700 but couldn't justify spending $200 more vs my 5D...it would be a toss up whether I buy one of those eventually or just buy a backup 5D body
Hi Cody, I like your observations 👍 There is a lot of pressure on us from all angles to buy the latest, upgraded camera gear. It’s hard not to get sucked into the ‘all that is shiny and new, is better’ market. I found what keeps me grounded is my needs always outweigh my wants 😊 Looking back into the vintage gear market is such an adventure to try, there’re so many amazing character lenses out there. I understand your curiosity, the Nikon D700 is almost directly in line with the Canon 5D and a sensible choice to make if you have lenses. My curiosity is about the RP. I have to get rid of my Fujifilm system first, then I may consider buying it at the end of the year, should be a little cheaper by then if the rumoured R7 is released 😎 All the best 🙏
@@paulappleby2729 Thanks Paul. as a final note I'd steer you to the R over the RP which should still be worthily priced low as new models come out. I use the R at work and it's not the most inspiring but a useful tool. The R has some advantages over the RP worth looking into if I was you. Thanks again
I do tend to sway more towards the 50mm, even though the 40mm lens does have its unique qualities too, one being a little more contrasty, making it ideal for creating black and white images. Totally agree with you, the perfect match between camera and lens is surely the 50mm 👌
Hi Duke, thank you for your question. Colour of course is very subjective, but for me, unlike most people, I really enjoy editing RAW files. I do also enjoy experimenting with the JPG profile settings in-camera to see what I get. After editing my other camera brand RAW files, also experimenting with their JPGs, it’s very clear to me that the 5D Classic files, both RAW and JPG stand individually uniquely different 😎
If you use adobe lightroom as editing software it imports the camera profile with the raw files. So instead of using adobes color profiles you can still use canon's.
the camera takes nice photos, if you don't need more pixels or new features why spend money for them? I use a Canon EOS Rebel T3 for Macro and landscape photography because I can use all the megapixels and the files that come out of it are great.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts 👍 I bought this camera a few years back from the secondhand market here, I was lucky to get it, from a careful previous owner 😎
Personally I don't really get the fascination with the shutter sound. It's always been annoyingly loud to me (and to others around). Of course it sounded a lot better than my old 350D (I've owned the camera for 14 years). The day a shutter like the old twin reflex cameras has comes a long I'll be completely stoked. Real stealthy.

Good to hear you are enjoying this camera to John 😎 I agree the shutter is not stealthy, but the sound...oh yes! 😄
wow, that's a steal! how did you come across such a bargain? I paid a bit under $300 for a mint 6D mk 1 (1.8k shutter count)
I treat mine like a classic car, only take it out on special occasions when I’m in need of that special experience.
Love the video by the way 👍🏼
Such a great way to treat your 5D classic 👏 Thank you for sharing 👍
Unfortunately my camera fel down twice causing a very small crack . I still use it and it still works great! its what they call: "built as a tank". @@paulappleby2729
I have a Canon 5D that was converted to B&W infrared capture - the results are superb. Have decided to get another one for colour work.
Wow, sounds amazing! Would love to see your work 👍 I recommend everyone should at least have 2 Canon 5D Classic cameras in their collection 😄
details, details....the pix speak to the genius of this wonderful camera.
Great to hear about your Canon 5D Classic, it certainly is a camera that's very special, on so many different levels 😎 👌
I have previously used the 5D in a studio setting, but never out and about. Just purchased one and waiting for it to arrive. Can't wait to get out and shoot with this classic camera.
So happy to hear you purchased a 5D Classic! It really is a special camera 📸
The almost nostalgic colors are one of my fav things too
I just got a 5d with only 50,000 shutter clicks on it a few days ago for $150 USD, and absolutely love it!
I'm deciding if I should buy the 5d (I currently have a 6d as well)
I really want to achieve the "film" look without using film because the cost is just too much to keep developing.
I know ive read all kinds of stuff online but since you also had a 6d like me, would you really say that the 5d can get some special film looking shots that aren't possible on the 6d?
Thank you!
I bought a used 5D years ago when the 5D MkIII just came out... still using it and loving it !
So happy to hear 😎👍
I also recommend that you buy a fully manual film camera like I did with the FM2. That way the lack of batteries won't prevent you from taking photos. The FM2 uses small batteries to operate the metering system. I don't the cameras metering system I use a Sekonic L358 to meter all of my shots.
I'm using that same iteration with the 40mm. I love it. So simple. I keep it in shutter priority. I do that same for my Nikon D700 and Ricoh gr3.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts 👍 DSLRs certainly do wake you back up after using mirrorless for an extended period of time 😊
The Canon Mark II is a great camera - there's no reason to complain, it does a great job.
Excellent. They need to bring back menu's like this.
Amen!
Here we are 2024 and I’m still using my 5d mkII :) with a good number of lenses acquired over the 16 years I had it.
Great to hear! 🙌
Thank you for this video!! I'm stuck between a 5D classic or a 1Ds. Might just do both
If I had the budget and space in my camera cabinet, then definitely both 👍
I used to have one, but it broke down mid-wedding, and after that I got a second hand 5Dmk2 instead.
My MK2 is still working and I use it as my primary backup body.... (my 1DX is my primary)
It’s fantastic to hear you’re using these amazing cameras for weddings in 2024 🙌
Gorgeous pictures, I just love the rendering of the 5D classic. Would you by any chance would happen to have raw sample of your 5D shots?
Hi, unfortunately, I don't share my RAW files, but a quick online search should help you find someone who does, thanks! 👍
Thank you so much for your thoughts on the beloved Canon 5D Classic camera 🙏
Have one, love it, colour science can't be beaten. The one challenge really is the lack of dynamic range.
Ive just seen one of these advertised for a great price and this interaction has pushed me over the edge, bought it😀
You made a great decision 😎 👍
The 5D classic was my first full frame digital camera and it made me shift from Nikon to Canon. It’s an excellent camera. And the shutter sound is really something!
Thank you for sharing your 5D Classic story Eduardo 👍
I super regret selling my 5D. So much so that I think I'm going to get another one. I can get a body and 50mm 1.8 cheaper than getting a 35mm (50mm equivalent) lens for my Fuji XT3. Some of my favourite photos were taken on the 5D.
Thank you for your comment 👍 I would highly suggest getting another 5D + the 50mm 1.8, such an amazing pairing, especially at that price 😎
I shoot with a 5D mark ii and I feel the exact same way I love shooting in manual mode constantly challenging Myself too have all the right settings to nail the shot and when you nail it oh boy what a satisfying feeling that feels like an addiction
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your 5D, owning and operating such a camera is so rewarding 😊 Keep shooting! 📸
Thank you for your helpful shooting tip 👍
@@paulappleby2729 Ur welcome. Love the vids. They influenced me to pick one up used. This camera makes walkaround shooting fun again. Cheers!
So happy to hear that 👌 Happy shooting! 📸
I bought 5d iii the last year with 40 2.8 and its amazing, think that mark i would be perfect for photo too
😎👍

100% agree! 😎 👍
Is 2022 and I also still using it. The best.

Thanks for sharing.
I have a question, is this camera compatible with USM Lens? i mean, for the autofocus.
I have only used one USM lens on my Canon 5D Classic which is the EF20-35MM F3.5-4.5 USM, which has worked seamlessly.
Works great with USM....
Amazing video Paul, Thank you :).
Its very good to know someone else likes the camera at higher ISO, I even push it to 3200 for black and white only, the grain is very nice 😎
Hi Cody, thanks for the heads up on the R, it's funny how I never gave that camera a thought, I will now look into it 👍
Which lens do you like more, that 40mm or the 50mm 1.8 ?! Feel like that nifty-fifty on this MK1 body has a special magic to it...
I do tend to sway more towards the 50mm, even though the 40mm lens does have its unique qualities too, one being a little more contrasty, making it ideal for creating black and white images. Totally agree with you, the perfect match between camera and lens is surely the 50mm 👌
A well worthy tribute.
🙏
The greatness of non video dslrs
I will second that! 👍
Great Video👍✨
Thank you so much! 👍
Question: are the native colors better in jpg or raw, is it jpg that makes the colors unique? Thx
Good to know, thanks 😊
Very helpful
I still use an Olympus E1.
the camera takes nice photos, if you don't need more pixels or new features why spend money for them? I use a Canon EOS Rebel T3 for Macro and landscape photography because I can use all the megapixels and the files that come out of it are great.
Can you use vintage lenses on the 5d like (like m42 Russian?) or only EF mount?
Yes you can, you need to purchase an adapter 👍
man great video exactly my thoughts and feels. btw where did you find this gorgeous beast? it looks like it came of the factory just yesterday lol .
Thank you for sharing your thoughts 👍 I bought this camera a few years back from the secondhand market here, I was lucky to get it, from a careful previous owner 😎
I would like to own one as well, but the mirror issue kinda worries me.
This issue only affected the earliest models, affecting cameras with serial numbers starting with 0 and 1.
@@paulappleby2729 Say, if it happens, can you just glue the mirror back, or maybe let a 3rd shop do it?
Yes you can do it yourself if you chose, there are 'how-to' videos on RUclips or you can take it to a trusted local repair shop.
Canon colors!
😻
I still shoot Nikon d300 for similar reasons 👍
Amazing camera! 👍
You need to run the images a bit faster. I was able to see one or two of them.
I still use it too
Been using Canon 20d for almost a year and it's fine tho, but damn sure i want to buy a fullframe dslr for abt $200
