FInding your channel (a couple years ago now) has definitely given me the push I needed to think more carefully about what makeup I buy. I love these types of videos! I'm really trying to keep only a couple of each product in my collection at once. I'd say I have the most blush too thought, But I've gotta have some powders, some liquids and some creams in a few different shades! of courese!

No one can use up that much makeup before it expires. It's a total waste of money and product. And every single influencer says the same thing: "it's my job to review makeup". I've come to the conclusion that with the majority of influencers across all platforms, they use that as an excuse to enable their own shopping addictions. Yup, I said it. And I'm really really tired of watching people showing off how much makeup they purchase or get from PR (that they will barely or if ever use). It's not helpful to the average consumer. This is why I like Kelly's channel. It's a more realistic representation of the rest of us who love makeup but want to love what we have, not just buy all the new and watch it expire.
You and Hannah Louise Poston helped me a lot in becoming more mindful with my purchases and get better use of what I already own. Even if I don't really do project pan and such your suggestions and example helped me save money while still being able to have fun with makeup. Thank you Kelly!
I went on a bit of a no-buy at the start of the year when I realized I had a lot of big expenses and a move coming up. Now, I've been hoarding about $75 in Sephora gift cards, and it's made me think more about the products I want to have every day for use rather than just the newest thing. While I tell myself I should use the gift cards for some special makeup item, I think I'm more likely to spend it on my staple hair care items that are getting low.

Thank you! I'm only using one eyeshadow here. It's the purple shade in the Juvia's Place Magic Palette! It's a duochrome so it looks like more than one color but it's only one eyeshadow :)
I had to quit on the eyeshadow and mascara this year, last year I added a ton of eyeshadow( went through a cream eyeshadow phase) and had 2 and 3 mascaras open at a time, 😳 this year my issue is blush and I just found lip oil 🙄 during my new phase of clear lip products that are moisturizing . Every year it is something new that by July I have to get ahold of myself!!
This makes me thinks of what areas I need to slow down on. Lip products is always a quick product I pick up. Although I am someone who reapplies gloss, oils, and bullet lipstick multiple times a day. I do actually run them. Last year I started keeping my empties to see what it was and how I finish in a year. That was eye opening.
My weakness is foundation. Seems I'm always searching for the perfect foundation. I'm wanting to try the ELF Camo CC Cream but I want to wait until I use what I have. I currently have 2 that work pretty well, Covergirl Simply Ageless Cream Foundation in the glass container and the Believe Beauty Foundation.
This is a great video and helpful reminder to love what we have. I think the fear of missing out gets us all at times. There's some products in my collection gold standard like my Rimmel stay matte powder that I always go back to and compare all new ones against. However I'm on the quest to find the cheapest best in every category, just to stick to my budget better. My worst problem is that I have fair skin that Tans very easily even with SPF 50 so my summer makeup is just drastically different from my winter stash so I have to keep experimenting which of the fun problem to have but I still haven't found my perfect summer bronzer, highlighter, and Foundation shade. I wish I had holy Grails of everything that would make it so easy but also boring LOL
Without even realising it I had been on a no buy for most products except lipstick, eyeshadow and eyeliner. I realised that my last foundation purchase was in 2015 which prompted me to toss it and get a new one. I like a curated collection, not a minimalist by any means. But I like having just enough products that I can rotate on a fairly regular basis

This is my second time seeing this type of video (your channel clearly, which btw you make my "get ready for work mornings" so much better when Wednesday hits I'm like damn lol but thanks for that!) I definitely prefer this style ( product specific ) of no or low buy I feel like I am much more successful and satisfied with this style, I’ve been on an eyeshadow palette no buy for the first half of this year to get a feel for what I have in my collection and my makeup style throughout different times of the year to see if there are any styles of eyeshadow palettes I genuinely feel I’m missing or if I’m actually satisfied with what I have, so now I for the rest of 2022 I’m no longer on a palette no buy but I am on a very specific low buy and if I don’t see any palettes that fit the specific purposes I know I’m looking for I still won’t be buying any

My current makeup hyper focus is foundation, I have enough to last a VERY long time. And since I have started watching your videos.... Blush 😂 particularly cream and liquid blushes. For me product I stopped buying is foundation, I only use sunscreen and a power with coverage/powder foundation, my country has a hot and humid atmosphere, layering too many things would be a disaster

I pretty much stop buying make up altogether. I don’t really like how Mika feels on my skin or on my eyes so what’s the point I’d rather spend money on skin care and sun screen.
