the disparity in beauty standards is funny cause in asia we use tone-up creams to make our skin lighter and try so hard to avoid getting tanned in the summer but in the u.s. there's literal bronzing drops 💀
Exactly! I live in America, and not only am I careful about avoiding sun exposure but I also like and embrace my fair skin, so I go out of my way to protect it, and I kind of like the brightening/tone-up effects from some Korean products.
I've always found tanning and bronzing very strange. I'm very fair skinned and won a free spray tan and when I saw how I looked after I hated it so much and washed it off as soon as I got home because I felt like I looked like a different person. And people get skin cancer here from tanning beds and not wearing sun screen just so they can look darker? Why? Of course lightening skin sounds foreign to me because idk why anyone would do that either but I honestly don't know where these beauty standards come from
Love this type of content! The "copy and paste" phenomena has me spending so much time (sometimes money) finding out how much I have is similar or near identical! Can you do more? Lip balms/glosses/oils? Happy Easter!
yess, i recommend etude, which is korea's top mascara or japan's heroine make. amts has a really good brown mascara even though they are a super obscure k beauty brand.
I agree with you on the mini ND palettes. I have a cool undertone and mini glam is too olive/yellow for me. I'm kicking myself that I have it when I think mini my dream would work better for me. It's hard when ND releases these over time to know which one is really the best for individual skin tones/undertones.
I tried the elf halo glow filter last year and honestly I've been struggling to make it work. I wasn't expecting it to be so pigmented, I was actually expecting it to give me a dewy, plumped up look. Something that makes my skin look super hydrated and just over all really well taken care of. I saw the glow recipe dew drops on Sephora and I immediately thought that's what I've been wanting. So I think that's going to be my next beauty purchase. I do agree with you Kelly that it probably won't work well as skin care, but as a primer/foundation base I think it's just what I'm looking for. ❤
I don't like the charolette tilbury Hollywood flawless filter. I have dry, mature, textured skin. It makes everything just slide around and never set down. It makes everything transfer like crazy, streaky and fingerprinty on me. Idk if mine is defective or what. I've tried it in multiple ways. The only time those things don't happen is if i powder the heck out of my face and then it disappears and is pointless to use.
Tbh I thought the bronzing drops were for people who tan, are of medium complexion or have a lighter face tone than their body. Most influencers I seen use these already medium skin to tan, and thought the pink was for pale skin bcs pink can leave a white cast on a medium to dark. So I’m surprised they advertised for everyone bcs I noticed each work for a specific skin tones.
At this time, I'm not interested in anything. My mom is coming to town next weekend and wants help with her eyeshadow. She wants to get back into wearing makeup. She said she bought a palette from Maybelline. I ordered her the Natasha Denona My Mini Dream palette as a surprise. I'm jealous she will have a Natasha Denona palette before me. I'm on a no buy.
I love the new Kosas dream beam! The original did nothing for me. Why do brands only come out with one shade and then only a year later add a deeper shade?
As someone who’s SUPER pale, it’s fascinating to witness the bronzer drops craze. I’ve tried to use many different bronzers, and while some of them are gorgeous shades, I just look odd when I wear bronzer.
I haven’t tried the GR Hue Drops but I like both the DE and the Saie products. The indeed laboratories nanobronze is my favourite though and by far the cheapest! I use them to mix in with mineral sunscreen to reduce the white cast.
I recommend Rudi Berry’s chocolate dripped (or dipped, I can’t remember, tubing mascara colab with Beaubble. I just received it last week and absolutely no smudging which is amazing and a definite brown shade. It’s so good.
I bought the elf tubing in brown it went in the bin it may be useful for someone with auburn lashes or ginger I wanted a deeper brown I suggest viewing before buying I'm in the uk no testers for mascaras so I couldn't open to see colour bought it on recommendation from youtube xx
I love no 40 of the sol de Janeiro. It's smells so fantastic. I really wish they would make it into an eau de perfume or however you say that. Body spray just fades way too fast for me.
Do you think getting the hue drops and sunlit beam would be silly? Or no bc one’s an spf and the other is better as a primer? I don’t have either of the originals
On the topic of bronzing products ( I don’t use them ) I did see another creator demo the one from First Aid Beauty. That one also contains niacinamid and spreads on to the face beautifully!
Kelly, have you tried YSL Lash Clash Extreme Volume Mascara in "Uninhibited Brown"? It looks more milk chocolate-y online, but I haven't seen it "in person". _Yet!_ I'm also looking for a lighter, more milk chocolate brown mascara. I'm extremely fair and blonde. Black mascara is just too dark for my light eyes/lashes. Even dark browns aren't great. It's a real struggle out here sometimes! 😂
I always thought the CT HW flawless filter is technically a foundation, although many use it as an under paint glow base. I love the CT wonderglow primer, I use it several times a week.

That's sad.
@@zoilalulu3798 no, it's just different

Yes and I’m super fair tanning isn’t me 😄

Look for brown mascaras in J-beauty… I always see light shade variations of brow and lash products ❤
What I love about the new Kosas is it’s like a two in one for me. I always put bronzing drops into my sunscreen so it saves me some steps ❤
For the brown mascara you’re looking for Id recommend korean brands!
yess, i recommend etude, which is korea's top mascara or japan's heroine make. amts has a really good brown mascara even though they are a super obscure k beauty brand.
@yoonjungie Unfortunately i don't think etude is cruelty-free (so Kelly wouldn't buy it), though I *believe* heroine is!

I agree with the comments, please try some of the k-beauty brown mascara's and let us know how they compare!!

I use the Glossier future dew for that

It would be awesome if Caliray made a chocolate brown tubing mascara.
Vanilla woods supremacy!
I found some beautiful brown mascarS on the just for redheads site. Ginger Brown is beautiful.

Congrats on your sponsorship!❤
Love Kohls! I love stacking rewards!
Nice sponsorship!! Congrats Kelly. I might have to check Khols out
I have most of the sol de Janeiro scents and I noticed I get the most compliments when I wear sol de Janeiro 68 💗
I love the new trend of brown eyeliner and mascara 😍

Happy Easter, Kelly! Btw you look very lovely in neutral-warm autumnal colors. Your tan shirt, lighter blue shirt, and this shirt look great on you!

You have to try the Beauty Pie Wrap Star tubing mascara!
I love your hair Kelly ❤

The #68 is a dupe for Bacarat 540 as well
Elf teased a bronze drop…I know you’ll be the one to end up trying that one
On the topic of bronzing products ( I don’t use them ) I did see another creator demo the one from First Aid Beauty. That one also contains niacinamid and spreads on to the face beautifully!
Adore your eyeliner. Please do a tutorial for those of us whom are comically challenged . 🫶👁
Hi Kelly! I am interested in interviewing you for a law school project! What is the best way that I can get in touch with you?
Oh my goodness. I thought it was me about the Glow Hue drops. I felt it dried my skin (I already have dry skin)
Regarding brown mascara, have you ever tried using a brown brow gel on your lashes instead? There are so many different brown tones to choose from! 😊

Wish i could find a grey mascara as a blond
YSL is not cruelty free
Have you tried the vanilla wood perfume oil? It lasts so much longer
I always thought the CT HW flawless filter is technically a foundation, although many use it as an under paint glow base. I love the CT wonderglow primer, I use it several times a week.
I have to use a perfume tester and wear it all day then decide if i want to purchase too!
❤
IF you're truly pro-cruelty free beauty, do NOT purchase from Sephora/affiliated enterprises.

Kackie just showed a BEAUTIFUL BROWN mascara on her channel.. it Beaubble Mascara in Chocolate Dripped!!🤎👀☺️🫶🏼 don't know if you've seen that one...

Sol de Janeiro 40 is the only one I hate 🥲 I love 62 and 71 and I like 68.
