- I wish that I could say that this was a fun video to make, but honestly it was a drag to completely rewire everything in my desk! But at least it was for a good purpose, which was to help get me back into the swing of creating music and creating videos. I've been in a bit of a funk over the last several months, and it's about time that I break out of it. This was a good first step.
Also, a huge THANK YOU for helping this channel reach over 10,000 subscribers! You all rock!
10K subs! Congrats!
Always good to see ways people set up their rooms, and it got me thinking about some changes to my own room. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
You said that the clutter in your studio was a consequence of the clutter in your mind. The opposite is also true, the clutter in your environment will certainly reduce your motivation and concentration. Keeping things clean and tidy here has certainly helped me, otherwise is a downward spiral.
Glad to see you back, Chad,
Cheers from Brazil!
it's definitely a vicious cycle! May your room be tidy, and your songs come out great! 😁
Great time-lapse music!
Good to see you back man.
Perhaps put a shelf underneath the bass trap, for the tower. Might work.
Thanks, I hope you're doing well! Not a bad idea, I'll keep that in mind as I figure out what the heck to do with this computer :)
Haha great vid. I feel your pain 😂
You're the man bro!
Good to see you.
Nice to see you back, Yep that virus will suck the "will" right out ya veins. Its easy to get a Jack n Coke and play Elite :) Ive been doing all the back up storage and boring things we all put off... Plz keep uploading your progress. looking forward to that review you mentioned
Thanks! Actually my backups just came in really handy a couple of weeks ago. I had my C: drive die in my computer so I had to go back and recover a bunch of stuff from my NAS. Windows File History doesn't exactly make this an easy process, but I seem to have recovered everything important.
Great effort
Thanks Vatche! I hope things are going well for you down under!
My little studio is completely blown apart. Has been for a long time. I need to get it back together. Get some speaker stands and then you can free the one sidecar up to move.
Maybe that'll make a good project as the weather turns colder and the days get shorter, to put things back together.
I do actually have a pair of speaker stands, but they're super cheapo ones (they didn't even ship with all of their parts, so they're kind of rickety). One of these days I should buy or build a better pair and give that a try!
Your Home Recording Studio To my untrained ear I prefer having the speakers on the stand plus it freed up valuable desk space.
That's a lot of cables! Score one point for ITB mixing!
Haha, no kidding! It's a pretty huge bother, but I do like my various outboard gear. I don't know, it's just more fun somehow 😁
Hey! I'm still in he throes of setting up my current studio iteration; by the time it's functional, my lease'll be up. Sheesh. One conundrum I have is what to do with a bunch of cables that are plugged in to some gear on one end, but loose on the other end (example: the alternative playback out from my USB interface, which I might want to use for a variety of things, thus they aren't plugged in full-time to any one piece of gear). I thought about using one of those headphone hook thingies that clamp on the side of the desk. In fact, I'd be interested to learn about more small accessories like that-anything you have found helpful in terms of small little unsung-hero accessories for organization?
I've become a fan of the Command hooks from 3M. I use 3 of the large size hooks to hold my patch cables, and I stuck them to the sides of my rack carts. They're great because you can stick them just about anywhere, and you can remove them if you change your mind.
@@YHRS Awesome! Thanks for the rec!
I hv moved my studio a few times and it always blows. I have a 24 channel mixer, 3 interfaces and several pieces of analog outboard gear and a 24 channel control surface.
Oh man, I can only imagine how much it takes to break down and set up that rig! Here's hoping that you don't have to move that stuff again any time soon.
