Just got a m4. An upgrade from my 10 year old mbox 3. Very very happy! My HS8s are pretty quiet, just tested after watching this. But I am in the box only.
i can tell you're a genuine dude, a lover of the music, and the gear that gets us there, a guy i can watch casually and play on my own guitar and get inspiration and even soak in more than when im trying to concentrate. Keeping my attention when im not having to force it, you're one of very few channels that achieve that. cheers for being a real youtuber!
@@YHRS absolutely! The drum setup is the bizz. Reminds me of how my living room sometimes looks when I'm tracking guitar cabs. I'm always trying to hunt for that perfect acoustically special place in my house, I am blessed to have a wife that allows me to have a bay window hallway area for studio stuff/gear storage, and also tolerates rack gear being any giving place in the house. If she could get rid of anything I'd say a percentage of my instruments would be the first to go. I just have way too many for my own good. Haha. But yeah she normally still deals with it like a champ. It's good to know that others with spouses that are at least tolerant of our interests. I can't imagine being in a situation during covid not to have had the outlet that I do. Would've gone loco.
Nice setup, RME are great, using them now about 20 years I think, still have my original BABYFACE, still works perfectly, it’s still supported and I’ve never once had a problem with my RME equipment apart from my BABYFACE breakout cable getting old and worn out, love their gear!
Glad to see you using the MOTU. I bought the M2 after your review. It's just leaps and bounds better than my first gen Scarlett 6i6.The pres are just so much more quiet when using dynamic mics, which I prefer to use in my untreated environment. Thanks so much!

Did it ever cross your mind that the monitor(Switch Witch) was the problem and not the Yamaha speakers? Or that your computer was sharing the same power socket? Anyway, you're getting so good mixes from your new monitors. You have a very nice setup. 😁
Thanks! I do love those Yamaha speakers, and I still think that they're a great option for anybody looking for an 8" monitor. But they were definitely much more susceptible to picking up noise (I used to have a wi-fi router next to them...that was awful) and generating their own hiss/noise. Honestly though the self-noise was never awful, it was just a surprise when it was no longer there and I realized how much quieter the room was!
I almost went with md421's on my 5 toms, but ended up with EV ND-468's. Love them and saved a lot of money. Do you know when the sennheiser sale usually ? because I would still like a couple for other uses.
I'm not sure if Sennheiser does their sale each year, or if this was just some special anniversary sale. It'd be nice if they sold MD421s for $200 every year!
I bring that Surface Pro laptop upstairs with me and over Wi-Fi I use the Reaper remote web page for basic functions like transport controls, arm/disarm tracks, and rough track levels. If I have to do anything more involved than that, I'll use Remote Desktop and remote into my downstairs computer so I can drive it just like I'm sitting in front of it. That's usually for things like when I forgot to create or name the tracks, or if I got the inputs set wrong, or if I want to create folders, add FX, or things like that. So far, it's worked out great!
@@GL64 Thanks man :) I've become a big fan of that Reaper web remote. It's definitely not fancy, but to be able to do basic stuff with your DAW from a phone, tablet, laptop, etc. is pretty darned cool!
Thanks! I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm tempted to try one of the new versions of the FaderPort, or even one of the Behringer X-Touch units. But I might take you up on the neglected FP :)

Love the living room drum setup. You've got all my wishlist gear, haha! Congrats on 5 years. Looking forward to more!
Awesome! Thank you! I'll probably have to break down my "drum room" next time we have company😁
I realize I'm pretty off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released movies online?
@Anders Santana i would suggest Flixzone. You can find it on google =)

Great to hear! I've definitely been impressed by the MOTU, it's been a constant companion for the channel since I did the review.
Congratulations on the 5 years!
How time flies. We should catch up again.
Thanks so much Vatche! I agree, we should arrange a call sometime. It's been an eventful year!
Love when you do a walk through. Thanks for the content man!
Thanks Shan! I've been letting the channel gather some dust in the last few months. I should get back to work on some new material!
Congratulations on the 5 years!
Thank you! It's really flown by!
congratz on 5 years!
Thank you!
Nice activity and good work, same as for me, next year for my retirement days im doing my home maybe room studio works. 🤞🏼
Thank you! And it sounds like you have a fun year ahead of you, planning out a music room for your home!

Setup is looking good. Like the new speakers and the T-Shirt!
Thanks man!
You can turn your arc into your transport controls
Interesting, I'll have to investigate. Does the jog wheel act as a "scrub" wheel or something like that?
Man your house is awesome 👏
Love my dbx’s. Setup is looking great!
Thanks man! I've gotten a lot of use out of the 286s over the last few years, I'm a big fan of these things!

Just got an M4 a few months ago... cool unit.
disterssor is on my list of next gear to get
I do love mine very much! I've learned to not use them on everything, but they can certainly be used on anything!
Might want to just use an Elgato stream deck for your transport controls. I use that quite a lot!
I keep hearing about those, I may have to give one a try at some point. Thanks!
