And he’s worlds performance was out of this world, the reason skt was in finals is only cuz of faker, galio series vs rng best individual series of all time
Faker dominated in the time when korean players only played for Korean teams so that they can get out of Korea, the conditions of esports as a full time profession was quite bad in korea back then. He is responsible for the rise of average salaries of all korean players. His domination lasted 5 years, and he is still competent enough to play amongst the tops, while other players from the same era are nowhere to be seen except a very few, who themselves are performing not quite as good on world stage. It's very easy to just focus on Faker's achievements in the game itself, but no one focuses on what he has done for the Korean esports scene.
Actually you are half right and half wrong, 1. Yes he was one of the cause for the rise avg salaries. 2. but korea at the time was the best place for Professional gaming. They were the only region that had managers, coaches, physical trainers, nutritionist etc the whole professional setup for gamers. There is a reason every other region started importing Korean coaches and managers. They are the OG in professional gaming, they literally created this entire field from Starcraft days. They are British in Football, US in Basketball. The only difference now is that other countries such as China spend a lot more money on the players so that's why a lot of Korean players go there now.
@@thomasblanc3457 I think you have it wrong, if you look at statistics the average pay for the players were only around 2000000 won which is only around 1700 USD every month and teams without decent sponsors had all 5 players sleeping in one single room. In addition, back then, a lot of the korean general public saw Esports as a joke (they saw gamers and esports professionals as teens with gaming addiction). You said there is a reason every other region starting importing Korean coaches and managers. Why would the korean coaches, managers, and players go to another region if the infrastructure of Korean Esports was good back then? Obviously other regions had more sponsors more capital to spend on players and the team (and they still do have more money to spend then Korean teams) which is why all the top Korean talents like Rookie, The Shy, Doinb, Viper, Nuguri, Mata, Pawn, Deft, GimGoon, Fly, Khan, Bang, Marin, Peanut, Aiming all played for another region at some point (the list goes on for way longer but I'm going to stop here cuz you should have prob got the message by now.)

I really love Bengi, he's an important member or the SKT T1 dynasty. But I hate that his existence is used by many LoL fans to gloss over the fact that Faker is a constant in that dynasty -- the guy won international titles without his supposed right hand man (MSI 2016/2017 and IEM 2016). And even in SKT's 2017 downfall, Faker showed that he really was( and still is) the main cog in that organization. He pretty much dragged his team to the finals until it got too heavy. I think Faker from 2016 up to now has always been adaptable when it comes to gameplay. He does what's required to get the W, and I salute him for that.
I never understood why people make a big deal out of something like this. Faker has won 3 championships, a tons of lck championships, and had cemented himself as the GOAT in the LoL scene. Watching this after they completed a split, where they went 20-0 undefeated in all Bo3 and Bo5 series is a great satisfaction. They will probably dominate MSI, and if nothing huge happens, they will dominate the whole season. This T1 roster looks like it has the potential to be the best roster ever. They have young talent, who are at the age of 18-20 are already elite, or even the best in their position, they have amazing synergy, clean macro, and not only they went undefeated, they look unstopable in their games. And once again, these are young, hungry players, who are probably not at their peak yet. Imagine how good Gumayusi and Keria will be at their peak. Imagine how much Oner and Zeus can improve still. And then there is Faker. He is innovating picks like the Kaisa, he is dominating on Ahri and LeBlanc, he plays whatever the team needs, whatever wins them the game. He is the player coach of T1, he is a leader, a mentor, and still one of the best players in Korea. We all wished in the years of struggle that Faker would get a good team around him. agree. I started playing league 2011 and witnessed the rise of each world champions. T1 specifically faker, we just want to see him win another worlds before he retires.
I think this sort of play style is actually something that T1 will benefit even more from in the future. Faker being the one to support his team from midlane might be just better style for him to play now. Even tho he still is the unkillable demon king this is no longer a game that he can win alone.
Watching this after t1 and their 20-0 record breaking split this season, all that potential seen in the 2021 team has been realised and they are still growing stronger. Well done Faker and t1
The original name of faker's team was "SKT T2 Judgment Day" It was later changed but Its worth noting just for how meme worthy the name was. I watched every Ogn match live back in s3. DoA and Monte would clown on the name it was wonderful
I'm always look up for Faker what ever struggle he been through he still my Goat he's the reason that's why i play LoL what ever haters say about him he still my Favorite Player of all time His Legacy will continue even he retired
this video here describes perfectly why I believe that while faker may no longer be the dominant 1v9 "best midlaner in the world" he once was he will forever be the G.O.A.T.
Also the number of times they play him crying at Worlds… imagine going to play your favorite game, and every time someone talks to you theyre like “do you remember when you were sobbing in front of the world? can we see your reaction to that?”
Actually no in terms of success cuz Micheal won all of his finals appearance so yeh just call faker the greatest league player of all time don't bring other names to this discussion
Nah he's right. Faker is the MJ of LOL. Considering that he's playing against global competition and with how often teams swap players. The league scene is unique with it's high variability. So finding a team that has chemistry and then attempting to keep that team together seems almost impossible for League pro play. And then you have Faker being the rock to a team for 3 consecutive championships. It's never been done before and might not ever be done again. He is the GOAT of LOL like MJ is to many NBA fans.
@@VHARDJO still he flopped when his team needed him most like when teddy was still in roster and they was in invitationals Though I agree with you Abt MJ thing.
Faker will always be the unkillable demon king, saw him before they got any worlds and he's still the only reason why i watch worlds this year. He will always be the face of league of legends, even if he cant win any worlds anymore.
You gotta respect Faker’s dedication to T1 a lot of good players will just jump teams looking for better offers, or a team that plays around them better. Not him though, he stuck with them even when they didn’t have enough faith to play him.
There is no fall tbh, look at how much he has won, it is insane. He sure will get another championship, heck I am sure in the next 30 years he will probably get 10 for sure with T1.
2021 T1 looked strong, sad they got knocked out by DK in a breathtaking series. But 2022 T1 is very promising, with Faker now returning to carry midlaners instead of enablers. Zeus is also good proving that he's capable, Oner is a good smite clutcher and can also carry if needed, last but not least, Keria and Gumayusi are contending to be the best botlane duo in LCK right now. I really hope this is the year they'll reclaim top spot.
dopa couldve been one of the greatest e-sports player, if he gone professional rather than boosting and getting money, but he has much more freedom than faker
Faker never fell only his team did. All of his 'weak' seasons was when his team started falling apart with him dragging everyone along. No one from those tragic drop offs ever returned to the top level.
waiting for the rise 'to the top' update next year! i received the script this year and this year is t1's year. you heard it here first! I'll come back here next year with the results. see yall!
Oh man im from the future, i remember this video and now they are just sweeping all the LCK 17-1, Keria an absolute monster, Guma being the boss many plays, is not faker rising but T1 reborn and even further, having actual fun while playing, truly wholesome.
Although he can't make any titles in 2021 but everyone still hype about him, he even beat his own record of highest view in the group stage. There will always be a new world champion, best player in the world but there is only one true legend.
all I can say is that 2021 worlds was a powerhouse, nobody letting nobody get a clean sweep, I could not believe that the entirety of semis and finals are back to back best of 5 and not a 1sided beatdown.
I may be capping, but I will bet on T1 winning the 2022 worlds if they continue there growth like there showing from spring to summer and worlds they have a really promising lineup and hopefully they can bring it out to the rift
Quite the opposite. It's Faker who supports the team. It's like an old Hero trying to lead the new generation of Heroes, making them shine brighter the more time passes.
Allow me to summarize Faker fell down when riot started to kill the 1v9 and made it more about the team Faker rise when he realized that and played around the team
I don't follow LoL esports but I know of Faker. I know what he has achieved and the status he holds in League of Legends as a whole. Can anyone tell me, how 2020 and 2021 has been like for him? From a Fans perspective.
2020 is shitty year for him. not able to qualify for world kinda devastating him, though he won spring. 2021 is the emotional roller coster. not able to win both split, the coaching staff condition is so bad that the ceo have to fired the coach and replace it with academy coach. but somehow after the firing, things suddenly got better and without anyone predict it, they manage to finish second in summer split and semi in world with 3 rookies who 2 of them only got their starter point 4 months before world
Faker did become a beacon of hope for T1 this time. Nurturing his team members to go follow his footstep to greatness. From zeus being mvp, Keria as a best support , Gumayusi and Oner which improves a lot this season. The king is back at his throne but this time he build his empire with his team and not leaving anyone behind. #TheUnkillableDemonKingIsBack #StillSKTT1 #4thWorldsCrown
Still looking forward to what will happen to Faker til retirement. He inspired me to play and was the hype of my life during the darkest days of college. Hes amazing on his own but league is a team game. Skt is best!
Man...Bengi was such a huge part of skt's success alongside Faker for those 3 world wins. Would love to see Faker win one more though before he leaves pro playing.
Faker is just the type of player, you'd feel a different intimidation when you're against him. I know it there's a lot of top players that can intimidate opponents and let them feel the pressure with early aggression. Faker's way of pressuring his enemies is by making them feel comfortable and think they have full control over the scenario, but it's like Faker wants you to feel that way, and then you'll hesitate doing your next move and the whole team starts crumbling apart. That is how I see it in the perspective of Faker's opponents.
I remember seeing the last fight in real time and just... getting emotionless when they lost, I knew that theres no point in being sad when t1 was doing so well again after so much time but it still hurt seeing them this close to glory again
Well, you can't really fall when you're not on the top. That "fall" left a mark since we are so used to seeing Faker not lose on Worlds while being dominant. Also their run at that year's play off showed that they were no longer that dominant. So yeah, that one series lost was dubbed as Faker/T1's "fall".
Wih how 2022 T1 is, I can’t see them not having another good Worlds stint, 2021 T1 did all of that with rookies and I’m very excited how things will be this time
While Faker is no doubt the greatest League player, calling Faker the greatest eSports competitor does a huge disservice to Flash, who has completely terrorizing SC;BW for the past 10 years so hard that he switched to Random. Hopefully my boy Jaedong will regain his skill and challenge him again.

The original name of faker's team was "SKT T2 Judgment Day" It was later changed but Its worth noting just for how meme worthy the name was. I watched every Ogn match live back in s3. DoA and Monte would clown on the name it was wonderful
I'm always look up for Faker what ever struggle he been through he still my Goat
he's the reason that's why i play LoL
what ever haters say about him he still my Favorite Player of all time
His Legacy will continue even he retired
this video here describes perfectly why I believe that while faker may no longer be the dominant 1v9 "best midlaner in the world" he once was he will forever be the G.O.A.T.
And Faker wakes up in the morning, watches the newest feeds, finds this video thumbnail and goes like: "wtf is this shit again.."
Also the number of times they play him crying at Worlds… imagine going to play your favorite game, and every time someone talks to you theyre like “do you remember when you were sobbing in front of the world? can we see your reaction to that?”
Faker is the Michael Jordan of League of Legends and you can't even argue that.
@@VHARDJO still he flopped when his team needed him most like when teddy was still in roster and they was in invitationals
Though I agree with you Abt MJ thing.
he's mature now to lead T1 new generation, no more Shaker and we just see the T1 Godfather
Dont say shaker thats like so disrespectful
This nobody calls Faker shaker lmao get a life
@@ajmamora6332 AYO i know no respect legit go win 3 worlds and comeback saying shaker
@@MinMin-sv5nz Its not really disrespectful tho, he was shaking a lot in recent years. Doesnt take anything away from his accomplishments tho.
@@dabo150 People are using it normally to insult
This was so emotional. I dont know what to say. I wish Faker is reborn in 2022
The fact that his "fall" season was probably a dream season for a lot of the players is mind boggling.
Truly the GOAT.
underrated video! Really nice and many emotions came up again. Thanks for fighting Faker!
well well 2021 was just the trailer of what was coming
I guess no one expected this
*Rises as the greatest player*
*Falls for a short period of time*
*Fires his coach*
*Refuses to elaborate further*
*Rises again*
Confirmed Sigma
Faker will always be the unkillable demon king, saw him before they got any worlds and he's still the only reason why i watch worlds this year.
He will always be the face of league of legends, even if he cant win any worlds anymore.
Faker vs Ryu clip: *exists
Every Faker documentary: "Its free real estate."
You gotta respect Faker’s dedication to T1 a lot of good players will just jump teams looking for better offers, or a team that plays around them better. Not him though, he stuck with them even when they didn’t have enough faith to play him.
the 2019 worlds series againdt G2 actually made me cry
the viewership rose up whenever faker appear at world too
A video about Faker…
Ryu: lemme introduce myself again
Every outplays we do I am sure we call it out as Faker! like how we fade away from three shouting Kobe!
Everytime I outplay someone, I always shout "holy fck I'm Faker"
everyone does 😂. everytime ww do sick outplays and set. we always says I'm faker
Faker story will always be legendary.
Faker will always be the best LoL player.
dopa couldve been one of the greatest e-sports player, if he gone professional rather than boosting and getting money, but he has much more freedom than faker
If there's Faker there should be that certain outplay
Always.
Beside from the "Unkillable Demon King" he is also the "The Demon King of Outplay"
Faker never fell only his team did. All of his 'weak' seasons was when his team started falling apart with him dragging everyone along. No one from those tragic drop offs ever returned to the top level.
Great video man!! keep up the good work.
waiting for the rise 'to the top' update next year! i received the script this year and this year is t1's year. you heard it here first!
I'll come back here next year with the results. see yall!
HI I'M BACK, LOOK AT THAT T1 IS UNDEFEATED SO FAR IN SPRING T____T
Collin really isn't ever gonna let ryu live that one down huh
This Upcomer does this videos like the skills of Faker! Good Job!
Thank you for giving us this videos!
this channel is so underated i swear, love the vids keep them coming (pref the val ones)
Oh man im from the future, i remember this video and now they are just sweeping all the LCK 17-1, Keria an absolute monster, Guma being the boss many plays, is not faker rising but T1 reborn and even further, having actual fun while playing, truly wholesome.
I really cried when I heard that Faker has returned in Worlds 2021. It gave me a lot of joy in my heart.
Although he can't make any titles in 2021 but everyone still hype about him, he even beat his own record of highest view in the group stage. There will always be a new world champion, best player in the world but there is only one true legend.
Faker will win another championship one day, I'm sure of it. As a player, coach, or owner, it's gonna happen.
And he did a 20/0 on LCK!
@@gabrielbare1947 excited to see if they can pull off the grand slam, and take down MSI, Summer and Worlds all in the same year!
this fr just like that one show on netflix about a game with esports.
all I can say is that 2021 worlds was a powerhouse, nobody letting nobody get a clean sweep, I could not believe that the entirety of semis and finals are back to back best of 5 and not a 1sided beatdown.
Faker a GOAT! Best player of all time
What fall? He was just giving the competition a chance to catch up
I may be capping, but I will bet on T1 winning the 2022 worlds if they continue there growth like there showing from spring to summer and worlds they have a really promising lineup and hopefully they can bring it out to the rift
I don't know why I feel it will happen !! I just feel they will win 2022 .everything will be better than 2021 cause the rookies gained more experience
i still want to see taking the world trophy again, and i will wait
MORAL OF THE STORY… EVEN THE BIGGEST HERO NEEDS A STRONG BACK UP TEAM THAT CAN SUPPORT HIM & MAKE HIM SHINE
I mean 2021 would argue against you? Faker was the strong back for a rookie team, making them shine instead as the video suggests
Quite the opposite.
It's Faker who supports the team.
It's like an old Hero trying to lead the new generation of Heroes, making them shine brighter the more time passes.
he is reason why i follow league's competitive scene
Faker went to a lone agressive demon, to a demon god who created a T1 dynasty that lasted long we don't know when to fall
Come on, his not even 30 yet, how could it be the "fall" ? He had been carrying the team too hard, that's what it cost his defeat.
Faker going to msi 2022 💯🔥
Allow me to summarize
Faker fell down when riot started to kill the 1v9 and made it more about the team
Faker rise when he realized that and played around the team
Coming back to this video just after seen T1 and Faker do a 18-0 in LCK... damn...
Ryu is the legend that make Faker famous kekw I love every video about faker is made with that outplay zed vs zed against Ryu
The "faker what was that" will never fade.
Everyday I wish I never knew League of Legends and in the same time I wish I knew it before.
And now Feb2022. T1 just won 8-0 in LCK spring. I can't wait to see them at Worlds this year.
Damn this video is really well produced man
1:42 Yeah, I Love *That* Transition...
2021 is the emotional roller coster. not able to win both split, the coaching staff condition is so bad that the ceo have to fired the coach and replace it with academy coach. but somehow after the firing, things suddenly got better and without anyone predict it, they manage to finish second in summer split and semi in world with 3 rookies who 2 of them only got their starter point 4 months before world
Now in 2022, T1 will probably win everything, i think thats the year for the real comeback
#TheUnkillableDemonKingIsBack
#StillSKTT1
#4thWorldsCrown
look at the skills, look at the moves!!!!
probably the best quote of all time
another outstanding video, as expected of upcomer
Amazing video! Make me feel sad and happy at the same time. SKT T1 always will be the best!
Hoping for T1 made their comeback! Still SKT fan here!
Whenever there's a Faker video. Ryu grimaces a little.
T1 Not producing good enough players to his standards
Faker: "*Fine I'll do it myself"*
Still looking forward to what will happen to Faker til retirement. He inspired me to play and was the hype of my life during the darkest days of college.
Hes amazing on his own but league is a team game. Skt is best!
Man...Bengi was such a huge part of skt's success alongside Faker for those 3 world wins. Would love to see Faker win one more though before he leaves pro playing.
2022 SKT looks dominate once again maybe this might be the best of SKT T1 that tops the 2015 SKT. Let's welcome the King back at World this year!
8:20 trundle again? See the reoccuring theme of this champ being in a lot of the world championship finals? Champs always been cracked.
T1 in the grand finals 2023 again. Watching all these Faker videos while waiting for tomorrow, where he possibly could do it .
Being here before the spring split lck finals i can say, the rise again is on its way!! lets go T1 and Faker
Faker video exist
Ryu clip: ah shit here we go again
This video made me cry again
he took some rookies and nearly beat the 2020 champs over 1 smite of elder dragon at the world stage. They are close to champ mode already.
This just feels like King's Avatar
Well, you can't really fall when you're not on the top. That "fall" left a mark since we are so used to seeing Faker not lose on Worlds while being dominant. Also their run at that year's play off showed that they were no longer that dominant. So yeah, that one series lost was dubbed as Faker/T1's "fall".
Been playing since 2009. All OG’s know Faker is the GOAT
another great video of faker and idk y i am crying..
Hopefully my boy Jaedong will regain his skill and challenge him again.
i almost cry when the caster says "Huni, Do you have what it takes to win the game" because i knew its over.. and then after the match my soul just got destroyed seeing faker leave the stage saying goodbye to the fans..
As a vlad main i wished he couldve waited doing the pool and just continued doing the empowered q into e + w im sure that wouldve won them the game
