Thank you Khee for highlighting our underappreciated culture and our delicious food. My aunt helped Chef Raymond in the kitchen in the early days of The Peranakan. I'm glad you enjoyed the food and that you appreciate our culture. I'm sorry that some Singaporeans (Peranakan or not) have posted xenophobic nonsense in your comment section. They don't reflect the views of all Singaporeans or Peranakans. Keep up the great work always ❤️
The fried fish is torpedo scad alias ikan cencaru. The skin is tough even after cooking and needs to be peeled off before enjoying the flesh. She probably found out when she ate the skin.
I enjoyed the fish! It reminds me of the fried fish i grew up eating which we call "galunggong / gigi" and pair with bagoong which is our version of sambal.😊
I think most of the food and bahasa of peranakan more similar like indonesia, like rendang, nasi ulam, capcay, sedap(bahasa),kluak, belacan soo indonesian.Very interesting
Hello my dear friend, I am from Singapore, I love their food, the food is absolutely delicious, I just sent you a text on Instagram from weblogaboutdisneyandfood 😊
Why don't we have an authentic nyonya presenter instead of this Pinoy lady standing in. We need real Babas or Nyonyas to celebrate and alleviate the true Baba and Nyonya spirit. The diction of the presenter spoil the atmosphere.
Jailani, maybe don't be xenophobic and racist? Then perhaps you can enjoy the praises she sang about Peranakan food. I, for one, am proud to have someone from another country try and love our food, doesn't matter where they come from ☺️
We Filipinos do not claim Peranakan... We have Mesitzo Sangleys/Chinese... She was just explaining that ANAK has same meaning in Filipino 😂 You can have Peranakan...but Sabah is another matter 😉
Hi funny a peranakan meal hosted by a filipina. Should have a palate of a real peranakan and not any other race. At least a local but a filipina. OMG how can this be whats happening. Best of all I bet she has never tasted buah keluak in her life. My Filipina friends dont like peranakan cusine.😓😧👎👎👎
I'm a Peranakan and feel ashamed by the horrible xenophobic comment made by Jenny Goh. Why can't people of other nationalities enjoy and comment on our food? In that case Jenny, don't eat fish and chips or Indian food lah cos you're not British or Indian. You see the flaw in your logic? Don't be xenophobic and racist Jenny.

I was planning on visiting this December but sad to hear that they closed down.
Sadly, lots of businesses didn't survive during the pandemic.
Hi FoodieMommaPH, does your dishes include Indonesian Terasi or shrimp paste Belachan?

Wow my ex boss is a peranakan wow randang I miss those
Cheap and affordable consider the amount of labour and ingredients to make the dishes.
Can 1 pax food package $30

Dont think peranakan are from Indonesia or even phillippines! They are mainly from malaysia and Sg!
We Filipinos do not claim Peranakan... We have Mesitzo Sangleys/Chinese... She was just explaining that ANAK has same meaning in Filipino 😂 You can have Peranakan...but Sabah is another matter 😉
The sound of the spoon against your teeth is so distracting.
