I used to incorrectly believe that I did not get credit for Jesus‘ payment for each sin I committed, unless and until I confessed it to God and asked for His forgiveness. This left me depressed, hopeless, and suicidal at times! I thank God that I now know the truth that I got credit for Jesus‘s payment for all of my sins, (past, present, and future sins,) at the moment that I trusted Christ as my Savior. And l have been set free from that tormenting way of thinking!
I believe I am a sinner, I believe Jesus Christ died on a cross to pay for my sins because he loves me. I believe in my heart that jesus died for me and rose on the third day. I know who I believe in

Sage of Synergism - how much of that chapter did you read? Paul is teaching Timothy of requirements for someone to become a bishop. he wasn’t talking about salvation. he was talking about possibly being lead astray due to inexperience.

@@TheMistysFavsI lived in Tampa for 11 years and did not know about Yankee! I moved to South Carolina three years ago. I also want to move back to Florida so I can go to his church! I miss the warmer winter weather, too, so I do plan on returning to Florida when my husband and I retire. (God willing. And, hopefully Yankee is still around. Maybe Jesus will return before then and I will meet him in heaven!)

I like to say I "Rely" on the cross of Jesus and what he accomplished for me. I trust it, I believe it, I accept it too, but relying on it really says it for me.

You know Yankee, I've started to realize it isn't my money these days. It's money given to me from God, so I should use it to please God. Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. Although I am still a sinner and don't always do what's right, though I have a different view these days. A different way to think.

Thank you for this. Christians are busy whining about words while not bothering to tell people how to get saved.
Also: Christians are being taught in certain churches/by certain ministries that even thinking of one's sins as a prerequisite to belief on the work of Christ for salvation is "wrong." Uh, if we don't recognize we are sinners in NEED of salvation FROM , then why bother believing in what Jesus did on the cross FOR salvation?
*They* also say "saying the sinner's prayer won't save you." Yes, but if saying the "sinner's prayer" upon believing is a help to the new believer to come to a place of understanding of what they are doing because of that belief of Christ's work on the cross, then why throw that baby out with the bath water?

@@jimoaks9270The sinners prayer is not specifically in the Bible, but communing with God about it is. Nobody says it is necessary, but who could contain themselves from speaking to God and being grateful for His salvation. When I got saved, all I said to God was "I'm going to believe I'm saved." I know for a fact the Holy Spirit came to live inside me." Never doubted my salvation since then, even when I wasn't purposely following Jesus. I know He has never left me. It's not about the prayer or the words said, it's about whether one believes in his heart, and God knows! In the book of Acts, there is no record of anyone praying a prayer to be saved. Neither is there any record of "brokenness" or repenting of sins. Saying a prayer doesn't save you any more than NOT saying a prayer. I don't understand why people try to exclude saying a prayer. Whatever a person does or doesn't do when they believe is between them and God. I do know that if someone was blind all their life and suddenly they see, I can't imagine being " broken" and "sorrowful" at that moment. In fact, I don't see it in scripture at all, except maybe when a believer had sinned though he knew better. But, as the Bible says, "A righteous man falls seven times in a day and gets back up again. But, an unrighteous man doesn't even recognize when he falls."

Repent is not used once in the Gospel Of John, the book written to unbelievers to know how to have eternal life. John 20:31. Repentance is a return or a change of mind.
Sage of Synergism - john was not written to the body of Christ. Acts 8:22 was not written to the body of Christ.
suggest you study the epistles of Paul (Rom-Phi) to learn the mystery of Gods grace.
repentance is not a condition for salvation, it’s a result of salvation.
we are not saved from our sins, we were saved in our sins.
we were forgiven of all ours sins at the cross already.

What should I do my husband gets upset with me when I share the Gospel I have had Manic Episodes and was diagnosed with Bipolar Mania and when I have them I get Grandiosity and believe God is wanting me to share my faith so it freaks him out so do I stop out of respect for my husband my husband is a believer but he doesn’t like to tell people about how to be saved he is fearful of me having another manic episode

@Freya Aldrnari Then your not trusting . I understand prayers for you and myself. Our sins are PAID FOR. it's the Gospel and I know that we both need to trust this.
I guess you can be saved because you believe. But being a disciple, a follower of Jesus is something different from being saved. Jesus can be someone's Savior without being one's Teacher or Lord. Jesus said in John 15, "You are My friends if you do what I command you. This is My commandment that you love one another." That is what Jesus desires from believers, but it is not required to be saved. Just believe in what Jesus did on our behalf

I'd never seen that verse in Isaiah before. In him will the Gentiles trust. It would of been IMPOSSIBLE to predict 600 years before Jesus that when the messiah came that hundreds of millions If not billions of gentiles would trust him over the years! Praise to God my savior

This is an interesting statement "we will turn from our evil ways and do good". Perhaps we should see what Paul stated in Romans7:18-25. What Peter said about Lot in 2 Peter 2:7-8. Paul believed and so did Lot. They were both born again and children of God. Paul called the Corinthians Saints and through the 1st and 2 book the Corinthians had 14 major problems. They still were children of God. Is it possible that we should really make a statement like this "we will turn from our evil ways and do good".
KEN LICATA - you don’t seem to understand rightly dividing the word of truth. once saved God begins a restoration within us project. Paul struggled as we all do between flesh and spirit. we weren’t saved from our sin but in our sin. the term “born again” is a jewish application, not for the body of Christ. Israel was born “as a nation” in Exodus 4. Jesus told nicodemus in john 3 they (the nation of Israel) need to be born again, which won’t happen until the 2nd coming of Jesus. Paul became a “new creature” when he was saved in Acts 9. Lot was not even in the time frame of Jesus earthly ministry, but hundreds of years before. so Paul and Lot were not “born again”! suggest reading 2Tim2:15, then Rom-Phi, the 1Cor15:1-4.

Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose Again on the third day according to the scriptures.

It is before JESUS died was buried and arose for our sins. It is not written to the church. Paul is our apostle. Hopes this helps. We are to rightly divide.

Romans 6:23. For the penalty for sin is death, and we all sin, First John 1:8, and we all die, BUT (the good news) The GIFT of God is eternal life, through Jesus finished work on the cross. "IT IS FINISHED" Paid in full. John 3:18
If I offer someone a million dollars, and they accept the gift, they have a million dollars that they did nothing for but receive the free gift. If they do not accept the free gift it does them no good.
God offers us the free gift of eternal life. But if we do not accept the gift, it does us no good. Those who accept it have eternal life. Life that lasts forever. Since it is eternal life, it cannot be lost. That would make God a liar. John 6:47. John 6:40. John 6:29. John 10:28-29. Hebrews 13:5. John 3:16-18. Jesus said it, we believe it, and that settles it.
First John 5:13. These things have I written unto you that BELIEVE on the name of the Son of God, THAT YE MAY KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, (First Corinthians 15:1-4) For it is the POWER of God unto salvation to everyone that BELIEVETH, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
