    This was an amazing sermon, so thank you.
    I was introduced to the bible when I was 21, and I'm now 60. The denomination I had dealings with did preach the grace of God, but they also added works. Such a situation created a terrible dilemma as to whether I was saved by grace or works or both. Whilst I believed that Jesus died for the sins of the entire human race, and I was desperate to have Jesus in my life, I held back from Jesus because I wasn't able to deliver where works were concerned, and was therefore concerned I could lose my salvation. As much as I wanted to accept Jesus Christ as my Saviour, the works emphasis within this particular denomination proved to be counter productive.
    Due to the worry about the possibility of losing my salvation, I set about creating my own formulas to rid myself of all sins. I would avert my eyes from the sight of women I found attractive, I would pace up and down the room whilst aggressively shouting: don't sin..dont sin etc. This drove me to the point of insanity, but then I applied to be baptised in the hope that the water would somehow magically create the sinless spirit I hoping to achieve. In the end I did go mad and wasn't able to sustain a position of fellowship within the church, and I left in despair of having been lost for all eternity.
    I now realise that the righteousness of Christ is imputed to me, and my sins have been imputed to him. Just believing in Jesus as having done all the work for me, has released me from the fear of the law and the knowledge of sin. The grace of God is truly amazing, and I rest in his all sufficient grace for my salvation.
    Amen.

      Glory To GOD!!!
      I am so glad you know works can't save you and works can't keep you saved! The works you hear about are the "good works" that we as believers in JESUS CHRIST do because of the heart we have in JESUS CHRIST!!!
      We are to do no harm - but we are to have compassion and help one another! Glory To GOD!!!

    Ive been following this channel for a while now and I can't say enough what a relief it is to find this. I went to an independent fundamental Baptist church for years and they never told the truth like this. Everything that came from the pulpit had a sneaky subtle way of slipping works into it. There's a few other people on here I listen to that speak the truth but not many. I don't even go to church anymore because I can't find one that preaches the gospel. Its sad because I'm surrounded by church buildings but none spread the gospel. My wife and I would really love to go back to church and be around other christians. I know she gets agrivated with me because I won't take her but I'm not wasting my time or taking the chance of being sucked back into lordship salvation doctrine.

    All the LORD JESUS's commandments total more and are as hard or harder to comply with than the law of Moses. so if we need to earn our salvation after accepting Christ then none will end up with salvation and he died for nothing. Without full grace without our works there is know salvation.

    I was raised in a Baptist type church and when I was 7, I thought I was saved, I told God I trusted in Him. In my twenties I basically just did my own thing but in the past several years I was seeking to follow Jesus. About 7 months ago, I started having doubts about my salvation, totally out of the blue. This has really burdened me, and I’m now struggling greatly. I understand from hearing some of Yankee’s sermons that Christ has in fact already paid for all my sins and if I believe He did this for me I’m saved. The light came on and for a bit I was delighted at the realization that my sin debt is paid. Yet, my mind won’t let me alone, and the thoughts of “do I truly trust” and such keep me so tired out. All I want is to rest in His finished work, without that, I’ve got nothing. Looking for a bit of guidance. Thanks

      jtm2957 . I know where you are coming from my friend. I spent 25 years of my life afraid of not knowing if I was saved, or how to stay saved. For 25 years of my life I was mad at God. I couldn’t grasp how Jesus did everything already. I was trying so hard not to sin. It would be so exhausting. After awhile I just gave up. Years later I finally realized that, there is nothing that I could possibly do. This is when it dawned on me. This is why Jesus had to fulfill the law. This is why Jesus had to have perfect obedience. Because I never could, even on my best day. When I realized this, then that’s when I knew why the only thing I could do was trust that Jesus has taken care of it all, and saved me. I believe in Christ, and trust in what He has done. It was such a relief when I finally put my trust in Jesus Christ, and His performance instead of mine. It makes it much more easier to try to live right knowing that if you do mess up, Jesus already took care of it. All I can do is trust in Christ. Jesus Christ is my only hope of salvation. My performance could never save me. I wish that I understood that 25 years ago.

    • @jtm2957

      C Vanburen. Thanks for the response. For years, faith and salvation to me was knowing Christ died for me and praying, asking Him to come into ones life and for forgiveness of sin. Needless to say, I’ve said so many “salvation prayers” in the past months. I’m starting to see that faith/trust is not asking God to do something in me, but rather simply taking Him at His Word that He(Christ) has already paid my debt and it is finished. In my heart, I’ve determined He is my only hope for heaven, for anything I could do is lacking for sure. The enemy still is trying to bring doubt and fear, but there’s a word that does bring me comfort...PAID! Prayers appreciated

    • @cvanburen8911
      @cvanburen8911 5 лет назад +3

      jtm2957 . I also would repeat the sinners prayer, almost every night. I would beg God to save me. I never realized how simple it was. Jesus gave, I just receive. I put full faith and trust in Him. Yes PAID! Is definitely comforting. Don’t base your salvation on how you feel, or your emotions. Satan loves to use them against us. I constantly had a battle going on in my head over my salvation. But I base my salvation on what Jesus has done, and ignore those feelings I get. The Blood of Christ is stronger than any feelings or mind games that Satan try’s to use. I have full confidence in the Blood of Christ now. The Bible constantly says to believe. That’s what I do. When it comes to salvation God just asks that we believe in His Son,and what He has done for us. I will keep you in my prayers.

    • @jtm2957
      @jtm2957 5 лет назад +2

      Can I ask, is faith/trust in Christ as simple as just deciding to “God I’m just going to trust in Christ’s finished work”, like a mental/internal decision? I have made that decision but nearly every day it’s the same doubts and fears like “am I actually trusting or do I believe correctly”. I’m not sure how to move past these. I know Christ died for me(the ungodly), but unsure how to get that payment “applied” to me. Thanks

    • @cvanburen8911
      @cvanburen8911 5 лет назад +2

      jtm2957 . That payment is applied the moment you trust that it is sufficient, and that the Blood of Christ is all that’s needed. I totally understand where you are coming from. I spent so much time worrying, and trying to be accepted by God. We are accepted in the beloved. Jesus prayed Father if there be any other way, but your will be done not mine. If there were any other way to be saved, God would of done it at that moment Jesus asked. The only way to be saved is through what Christ did. Anything else added or by our own will is another way, and not the way that God has provided. There is nothing we can do to earn it, or merit it. All there is to do is believe that God has done it for us through His Son Jesus Christ. Trust what Christ did for you. There really isn’t much past mental decent. As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is. A lot of people try to sound real spiritual, and say, “ you can’t just believe “. But what does God’s Word say? Believe on the lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved! Another word for believe is trust. The payment has been made for you. Do you trust on Jesus, that He did it for you? If so you are justified.

    Justification does not guarantee that you will go to heaven.
    In Matthew 16:13-16 (and Mark 8:27-29; Luke 9:18-20) Jesus asks the Apostles who do they say that he is? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
    And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
    Now at that time, Jews were saved by justification by faith, just as Abraham and David were. And Peter also. The fact that Jesus replied to Peter that he had received that answer from The Father corroborates that Peter really did believe it. That would show that he had been justified by faith, thereby being saved.
    Now in Matthew 10:33, Jesus states:
    But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
    And in Matthew 26:69-75, Peter denies Jesus not once, not twice, but three times. So according to Matthew 10:33, that would unarguably mean that Peter would NOT be in heaven, even though he had been saved.
    (To reject Matthew 10:33 as being relevant in this case would be to call Jesus a liar.)
    As we know, in John 21, Jesus restores Peter as one of his Apostles. And Peter spreads the Word throughout the nations until he eventually dies as a martyred Saint, showing that he had gotten back on the narrow path to eternal life. If he had died before doing so, as Judas did, he too would not have obtained eternal life.

    • @JewessChrstnMystic
      @JewessChrstnMystic 4 года назад +4

      Peter never lost eternal life, Jesus told Peter he would deny him, trying to further prove to Peter he knew everything before it even happens and still chooses to forgive. Stop twisting scripture.
