You, my friend, are an inspiration especially in the time in. I'm doing shotput and learning the spin and my goal this year is to hit 50+ I needed this today since my meet didn't go well
I'm a freshman. My Pb is 110.6. I look up to you know and hopefully can progress like you through hard work. So far, my pb was done with the half spin and I'm working on the full spin (self-teaching). Your progress is amazing, and you are incredible. I hope you are doing outstanding in college and its treating you well. Congrats and best of luck!
Hey man, you have incredible potential that you’re realizing. My only recommendation is that you’re too eager to get across the ring and you drop the arm half way through because you’re compensating for slower rotation in the middle, and at the end your emphasis on the block leg brings your arm back up and takes from the true power in your legs. Your legs are huge, it may be a core thing but you’re core has to be very strong with your solid finish. It’s such a minor detail, but at the level you’re throwing you have about 10-20 more feet in your throw.
Hey I appreciate your insight! I agree with what you’re saying and I have struggled with that. Check out some of my recent videos on my Instagram “joe_wager” to see how my technique has changed. I appreciate any other advice!
Awesome video man. I hope the best for you! I remember when the sport took over my spirit and I spent countless hours of my freetime watching film and just throwing. Finished my senior year with 177-3. Tips for the 2k adjustment is to just stay patient out the back of the ring. You will eventually add the speed when you gain the strength. I used to start the disc high out the back like you did. but in college I had to adjust with starting the disc low and then building the elevation. Eat big, Lift big, throw big!
You see, this is very impressive and all, but all I can think about, is that it must suck throwing that far because you have to walk 170ft to go get your discus back😂 But all jokes aside, you are an animal.
Any tips on how to add feet quickly? I’m throwing around 130 at the start of the season but would love to throw over 140 this year so if there’s any workouts that are perfect for that or anything that would be awesome!
there are NO "easy or quick fixes. it takes time and effort. education of the movements needed and at what time is the key to better performance.start with perfecting the basic steps[stand throw], then add in the step and throw movement. get that working perfect before doing any more. when flying the discus looks better from these 2 movements, add in some south african steps to access the step and throw into the stand throw. only when you are working these drills correctly do you add in the windup/entry. you can't perfect the throw when having imperfect movements at some part of the throw. lots and lots of repetitions of each drill until the correct way is natural to your brain and body. nothing is "quick"
towards the end starting to look a lot like Lukas Weishadinger (definitely butchered that name) at least in that start with the high point, noticed you’ve kinda stopped doing that start now. What’s your more recent technical model for getting that good orbit?
so many things that needed improvement, and it didn't look like you did any. sorry but that orbit of the discus and the angle of attack killed 20-25 ft from a good throw
Always find my way back to this video love this progression trying to progress from 140 my sophmore year to 160+❤
did u do it

Props to whoever was involved with getting that concrete slab and net setup. Those invaluable reps were a key to your progression. Keep it up.
Agreed. I paid for it and poured it myself!

Yes I modeled Lukas’ windup during my senior year. Unfortunately it caused me back problems so I went back to normal. Now I am modeling Gerd Kanter
My pr in the 7th grade was like 120 or 130
how’d you get so fast?
just curious, how far can you throw without the spin?
Hmmm. I think my power throw is around 40 meters.

Appreciate your comment Paul. you should do a technical analysis for me! Thanks coach.
