    And now he just beat the oldest world record in men’s athletics. He did it in April, with every throw in his series over 70m… he’ll be doing this again.

    He’s 19 whenever he did this. Just how much stronger he is going to get over the next couple years is enough to make him the greatest of all time

    I think the thing he does best is catch the discus back further, on average, than most throwers. Dane pointed it out briefly how he had both feet down at the front but the discus was passed 180. Just gives him more distance to accelerate the discus during his finish.

    Throws coach here, this kid threw nearly 70 meters while doing a number of things sub-optimally. He definitely has several more meters in there

    Al Oerter won 4 consecutive Olympic gold medals. He was the underdog in all of those competitions. So he dominated this event for at least 16 years.

    • @Elliottklassen
      @Elliottklassen 8 месяцев назад +1

      4 consecutive Olympics would take place over 12 years, not 16. In Oerter’s case is was the 56, 60, 64, and 68 Olympics. Regardless, that’s an incredible achievement and he’s clearly one of the all-time greats in track and field.

      Al was clutch. Maybe the greatest Olympic medaling accomplishment of all time.

    this makes me wonder how far he must've thrown in highschool with the 1.6k discus since he was already throwing that far as a freshman in college. Absolutely wild

      We use Coaches Eye, but not sure if it is still available on the app store... look for technique review apps. there should be something similar.

    Why do you think he starts off centered in the back of the circle? His right foot is close to twelve o'clock.

    • @gerrylamontagne2214
      @gerrylamontagne2214 2 года назад +2

      Suspect he was having sector foul trouble or something late in the season. If you watch his throws during the collegiate season, he’s aligned basically centered.
