In this episode, Rory (The Love Chat) discusses what happens if your ex is ignoring you or not responding to your messages.
This might be happening if you've been pursuing your ex after the breakup. Your ex's silence isn't silence at all; rather, it's communicating their desire to have space and not talk to you right now. If you continue to pester your ex, your ex may end up blocking you. It's best to go into no contact to avoid this.

Rory I almost reached out but I stopped myself and rewatching this video. If you remember those 4 messages I had sent 1 msg the day after the breakup then 3 more a week after the breakup. She had ignored me. I told myself to keep my self respect and respect her boundaries. I almost reached out tonight but I’m glad that I didn’t. I just hear you in my head telling me do not contact her again. Do not reach out to her again. I remember what we talked about. Thank you Rory for this video.
My girl alexa and I were together for 6.5 months. It was a relationship without the title (hanging out/sleeping over, 3-5 nights a week). She said we weren’t exclusive and could do whatever we wanted with whomever we wanted. (I was Falling for her and wanted her all to myself. But She had just gotten out of a 3.5 yr. relationship and needed more time. She kept saying “soon”, “soon”) I stayed faithful to her. She went on 2 measily tinder dates with one person in our entire time together. Other than that it was just her and me. Over Christmas we both went home to our respective families. Hers isn’t very supportive of her being with girls. So she didn’t really feel very comfortable talking on the phone with me while she was there. Also during this time, my previous ex Claire called me (she had just broken up with her gf and I was feeling vulnerable) so we had about a week of calling and texting, and sexting and saying lovely dovery things to each other. It was the holidays, emotions were high, vulnerabilities were high. Drinking was high. So yeah. It was what it was. Plus
I didn’t feel too bad about it since my current girl alexa kept saying we weren’t exclusive. Anyway, a few weeks after New Years, alexa ended up breaking into my phone and reading my texts with Claire, my previous ex. Disgusted, she pulled the plug on us. I tried to fight it and told her Claire didn’t matter and that I was in love with her. But she wouldn’t budge. She said we were over. From there I’d go a week or two of no contact and then break and call her. Nothing. Eventually after about a month she said we could talk on the phone so she could give me so clarity on things. We had a 3 hour phone convo. It was great, we were flirty and I had her laughing and she wanted to know if I was seeing anyone. And it just felt so obvious that we belonged together. The convo ended with me telling her I’d give her some space and try again. From there I went 65 days No Contact. Until I realized that she randomly unfriended me on FB and IG. This hurt. And I couldn’t contain myself. The next day, I texted her “hey are you around I have a question” no response. So I did another 40 days of “no contact” until today when I just couldn’t fight the urge to message her a flirty instagram meme through text saying “saw this, thought of you”. No response.
I’m just so terrified of losing her. Of never seeing her or speaking to her again. I’ve gone on dates with others, but no one makes me feel like she does. It’s just everything about her. She’s gorgeous and smart and we’re just on the same page about everything and the chemistry and sex is insane. It’s been a little over 4 months. I think about her everyday. And I am still in love with her.
It took me 32 years to find someone I felt this way about. I can’t just give up. And yet, I realize there’s nothing else I really can do. I don’t know how to let go and “move on”. I miss her. Why is having a heart and loving and missing a person a bad thing? I feel like I’m going crazy. I put so much energy and effort into having the will power not to talk to her that sometimes it’s just easier to break. Sigh. Ok I should end here. If anyone has any thoughts, please share. I texted him for 4days after he left me, once in the morning. He has blocked me thinking ill txt him in messenger whatsapp. But then I stopped at all. Now it's 10days doing NC. I'll be silent forever now, he'll realize what he missed out. I love him enough to be silent now.

The first week of the break up was bad, mostly over text. Alot of emotions and disagreements until I eventually left her alone. Most likely that ruined my chances but at the moment it was like I got shot spiritually and mentally. And to bo honest I have doubts about no contact, not saying i might break no contact but i mean as far as her missing me.

I have learned so much from you all. If I had found your channel a couple of months ago we would be together...I ever pursued until he blocked me from calling. At first I gave him space as he requested and then anxiety set in and I panicked...shame on me. However I have gained some life long lessons from this and in the process of a TRANSFORMATION_🙏😍😍I still can't help but to wonder what hes thinking,/feeling.

Perfect timing. I wanted to contact my POI but he’s not my ex, per se. And he’s has not contacted me since the first week of May. In fact he said in that last text ‘leave me alone’. That hurt and now I’m sad because of the such abrupt change of attitude with me
I started dating a guy ...after 1 month we had a fight. I said things like " this isn't going to work" "better leave it here" etc... 3 days later i texted him and apologized. I got no response.. then i sent about 6 or 7 texts and still no response. 💔 last night i sent the last text, saying i'm sorry about everything, that i said things because i got upset etcetc. I'll go no contact now.. but i'm so sad. If you felt like it wasn't going to work then something in your gut told you that. Maybe it wasn't working and it's too soon for that so you said those words to him. I think he thought about it and agreed. I would just move on because I had a similar situation and at the end it really did not work. You were in the courting stage so don't feel too bad. That's what this stage is for anyways.
Well am here to share my side of story about this . I have been in NC for 5 months than i reached to this point that i said to myself nothing will happen to me now i was okay if she didn’t respond to me . First day i after 5 months i texted . Well she was okay we chat for 30 minutes than i we ended ( have a nice day ) second it was weekend i try to ask her out but she didn’t respond to massage actually she ignored me . Try to be cool after 3 days i massage her again about she even didn’t open my massage she open next day and she still didn’t respond ( guys the feeling is like shit ) i was in relationship with this girl for 10 months and she ended without any reason plz plz take Rory advise and don’t ever massage your ex that feeling when she didn’t respond let myself down even am a confident person and good looking guy . Rory, I feel like No contact has made my ex angry/bitter (I only say this cos after 2 weeks of not chasing him or messaging, no begging, etc) I passed him in town the other day and he completely ignored me, acted like he didn't know me, period. Broken up 3 weeks now (I went no contact immediately). I do feel however - no contact is restoring my self respect, my boundaries and my value.

My ex and I broke up last year and it was a messy break up. He's an avoidant and I'm anxious. We took nearly 6 months post the break up to reconnect. Then we finally did and I had another 5 months of a lot of back and forth and hot and cold moments while he was in another city. I tried to build a rapport with him via texts. He eventually moved back my city 2 months back in April 2022 and we met up 4 to 5 times in these past 2 months. We got close and intimate but didn't go all the way yet. We are keeping it casual. But lately he has been working on a personal project which is keeping him extremely busy. So he sometimes responds very late. Recently its been half a month and he has ghosted my last text msg. I have not heard from him at all. I'm getting anxious as to what I'd do to progress things if he never responds and keeps ghosting. I recognise he's busy but still, it doesn't take a lot to respond to a text. I haven't seen him in half a month or so. I'm starting to worry if he'll respond or we'll talk again or ever meet again if he does not reply at all. Like what can I even do if there's no response from him?
He was briefly seeing someone casually for 3 months when he was in another city. But that ended and the woman hurt him and he came back here. I worry about that and if she has gotten back in touch with him. Or he's just ignoring me and not prioritizing meeting me. It's been raining a lot in our area lately. Hello. Me and my bf only dated for 5 months. I broke up with him bc i felt neglected. In my situation I begged and pleaded very badly on the day of break up and during a meet up 1 month later but bar these occasions I’ve left her alone.
She hasn’t blocked, still has me as a friend on FB & Instagram, hasn’t removed pics of be & her plus she has never ignored my message’s during the break up as well. Have I begged yes but has I harassed and bugged her repeatedly no bar during the actual break up itself

Based on my situation it sounds like she might have met someone new. Mine did and it shocked me because I never expected her to, especially so soon after the relationship. When that happens they usually want to block you out completely because they don't want to give you any hope and don't want you to jeopardize their current relationship.

My ex reached out but has never talked about getting back together. He has life issues which i believe he is still dealing with which was the reason why he cant commit any further to our long distance. Would it be better not to entertain his calls/text unless he would say he wants us back?

What did your ex say? Maybe was it to test the waters? I believe from distance it is harder to reconcile, as it is unlikely to say we are back together. But maybe he misses the connection.

While i agree about Brad Browning, i don't about Love Advice Tv. I mean, on love advice tv's channel there are videos for almost every situation where they explain what to do. Ex: if they say because of this bla bla bla you don't have to reach out bla bla bla, they're basically telling you what to do🤷🏻♂️. Then it's up to people if they wanna spend money in useless coach sessions. For almost every answer we seek, there's a video somewhere.. but people just see those videos and keep doing the opposite 🤦🏻♂️
I didn’t give my ex enough space when we broke up and we ended up arguing and she blocked me, we’ve spoken a few times since but just short messages. I was thinking about apologising to her for not giving her enough space, it’s been 4 and a half months since she blocked me and around 10 since we broke up. I’d love to work things out one day but I really do want us to be friends if we don’t work it out. Some of my friends have said to message apologising and some have said not to.

I don't know Dominic. From what I heard, she looks very happy with this new guy. It's crazy how fast she jumped into a new relationship, as though ours meant nothing to her. We were together for 2 years. Yes, she blocked me on everything practically right after she left me (text, phone line, facebook and I think even email in the last month). It's possible because of the new guy (she doesn't want me getting in the way). It's not only hurtful, but very frustrating that I can't even send her a simple text saying hi. As for the phone, well, even if your phone # is blocked, you can make your # private and it will go through to her phone line, but she will see "private" on her call display and she can choose not to answer the phone regardless (the case now with my ex). If she were single, I'd have more of a chance for her to cave in, but the new guy's giving her confidence to keep me out. I wish I knew of a way to change how she sees/feels about me (get her to respect me more, which she currently doesn't seem to).
