Just can't believe recorded a whole new album as the vault songs. Other artists has 10 songs as a stand alone album and Taylor puts it on one 30 song album genius like always.
This is the right time to listen to Phoebe Bridgers’ Punisher. It is also one of the best albums of last year. She’s also a great songwriter, probably the reason why Taylor loves her music - to the point that she became a part of Red TV.
When you mentioned a point from the book, that "there's no bad music, you just don't understand it" immediately, it came to mind Taylor's lyrics in Begin Again, (something to the effect of) "you said you don't get this song, but I do".

It really doesn’t fit the style of the 1989 album at all. I’m so happy it’s on red because it really shows the shift she was going through during that era.
My favorite of the re-recordings(not vault songs) is everything has changed. Ed and Taylor are my favorite artists. They both were in really tough places emotionally back in 2011/12 when they wrote these songs. He didn’t like himself and she was wresting with “what if this all ends” plus bad breakups and people telling her she was just the crazy ex girlfriend. Now they’re both happy. She’s been with someone she loves for 5 years, he’s married his high school sweetheart and has a baby. They both ooze happiness these days. So the happy song they wrote is like a happy peaceful homage to a really good friendship that saw them through their tumultuous twenties.
Run is my favorite from the vault, just sounds so soothing and magical. Thank you for reacting to this album, we have missed you! And your kitten is so adorable, especially when he/she went into your jacket. I love that you really love the kitten.
@@eileenvb oh I know that. I love how at 22 years old she thought that when "the new thing" came around she would be over and crying herself to sleep, when in reality she is happier than ever, still successful, and supporting and encouraging all of the young new artists. That's growth!
You should totally do the rest of her songs if only because I'm dying to hear you break the production of them down. Especially Girl At Home that is so different from the original
"This isn't a cover... is it?..." She has only one officially recorded cover in her entire career (if not considering Christmas music) and that's Untouchable. Nearly all songs she sings she's written.
She’s at least had a co-write on every song she’s released on main albums! Even untouchable got a co-write because her version was so different from the original :)
@@smokee1325 That's not even a fair representation of her work because it implies where she's a co-writer in some occasions she only put minimal input... nope, she's been the majority songwriter on all but Untouchable and maybe Ronan depending on how much are direct quotes from Maya's blog. But yes Untouchable got a co-write because she majorly changed up the song's production but I think that personally was a silly reason to give a cowrite because she just slowed it down.
Nothing New and Forever Winter are my favourite songs. I honestly prefer Fearless as an album, but the Vault songs in RED are better (just my taste of course). THANKS for the video!
Edit: I'd love to see you do a comparison of the production on Girl at Home OG and TV! The production on Nothing New makes you feel like Taylor at 18, 22 and now are just sitting at the end of your bed singing this song together. Very intimate sound and the doubles, harmonies and call and response make it feel like she's reflecting but also looking forward.
loving these vault tracks. I can't believe these didn't make the original album. Of course I love Better Man and Babe already. But these new songs that didn't make the OG album, they are so good.
Just in case you don't know, we had never heard some of this songs! Specifically: Nothing New, The Very First Night, Message in a Bottle, Run, Forever winter and I bet your think about me!
31:50 her accent in her debut album is very similar to this! she lost her country accent as she's moved into pop music, but her older stuff (yes, the stolen versions, i know) definitely has this kind of phonetic stress.
I love the song Run, and the lyrics remind me of Ed Sheeran’s song Photograph. In Run they sing: “There's a chain 'round your throat Piece of paper where I wrote "I'll wait for you" There's a key on the chain There's a picture in a frame Take it with you” “And the note from the locket You keep it in your pocket Since I gave it to you There's a heart on your sleeve I'll take it when I leave And hold it for you” In Photograph Ed sings: “Oh, you can fit me Inside the necklace you got when you were sixteen Next to your heartbeat where I should be Keep it deep within your soul” “So you can keep me Inside the pocket of your ripped jeans Holding me closer 'til our eyes meet You won't ever be alone, wait for me to come home”
You should react to the song “Girl at Home” from the Red album and compare the original version from 2012 with Taylor’s Version that just came out because they apparently changed the production of it and you can definitely hear the difference in the new version. I personally like the newer version better! ☺️

It just sounds more comprehensive this time.(Except “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” I don’t know what they did with the “eee”s on the chorus, but I can’t stand it)
one of the reasons I like these videos is you introduce me to new stuff that was already there, like the palm mutes on the mandolin during the very first night, I never noticed that til you pointed it out
I just noticed that you pointed out the “double” in the voice when phoebe and taylor sing, i think it is just them singing on a different key and then layered. The style has been used in some tracks from evermore and folklore. Phoebe also has this on a lot of her songs, definitely inspired by her musical hero - Elliott Smith. Elliott is like one of the most influential artists in the indie folk scene.
I've several things to say, at first, I just love these kind of reactions and I love your channel as well - keep doing! I don't wanna say, that I was never a fan of Taylor, because I've never listend to her music, but this album gets me so hard. Love it. She also does that with getaway car. A ton of her songs actually. I was just playing a ton of her songs on the piano today so it was fresh in my mind lol.
For me my favourite (except for All Too Well 10 min version ofc) is Run by Taylor and Ed Sheeran. I just love the vibe of the songs and the rhymes. It makes you feel warm inside
The kitten snuggling inside your jacket omg I love taylor and your reactions and your comments, but that in that moment I was literally awing so hard my eyes became hearts 😍
Same! Message in a Bottle isn't a favorite of mine either because it feels too generic pop. But I heard this was the first Taylor Swift x Max Martin collab so maybe this was them playing around with Taylor dipping her toes in pop music. I love The Very First Night more because as what Blake says, it has more organic instrumentals (the fast boppy guitar is just so beautiful and reminiscent of 2012 fun pop!) But anyway, to each our own! Message In A Bottle might grow on me as the days pass by 💖
Idk if you react to music videos but I'd love to see your reaction to the All Too Well short film and the I Bet You Think About Me music video (which is hilarious).
The way you talk about drums makes me wish you would do a Haim reaction - their dad taught them all drums as their first instrument as kids, and percussion is really fundamental to how they think about all their songs.
What you said about better man is so spot on, I knew the first time I heard it that it sounded so familiar from songwriting perspective and I'd never felt like that hearing a song. When I looked it up and saw it was Taylor I got so excited lol and then when I heard her sing it at the bluebird, it was like oh my god, it's so much better than Little Big Towns version (no disrespect). Its hard to sing a Taylor song and me like it, especially if I've heard her sing it already. Her lyrics and melodies are so perfect for her voice and her voice is so unique, especially her tone which is so beautiful...her songs are as hard to cover well as whitney houston songs are even though whitney is in her own league vocally. Taylors voice just tells the story of her own lyrics in such a powerful way that is hard to ever mimic in any way that feels satisfactory.
As a Swiftie who's pretty new to the fandom and has gotten to hear both versions for the first time recently, PLEASE react to all of RED, and if possible compare the originals to the re-recordings! I know it would take a long time but it's worth it... Taylor is worth it. ❤

You love what you do and it's very nice to watch. Taylor's amazing and amazingly beautiful. She's a hard act to follow for sure.
The kitten snuggling inside your jacket omg I love taylor and your reactions and your comments, but that in that moment I was literally awing so hard my eyes became hearts 😍
Message In A Bottle sounds like a movie soundtrack of a huge cartoon movie.
Message In A Bottle might grow on me as the days pass by 💖
I’ve been a swiftie for a long time and Better man is actually one of my favs of hers and I’m so happy she officially recorded it .
I literally love all of the vault tracks so much.
Don’t know you know but Girl At Home got a new production… Great job! Love your reactions
I would 100% watch your reaction to the rest of the album.
You're doing great man !!! I subscribed when you putted the all too well reaction !!! I think you're doing it for good not for clout!!!
Better Man & All to Well I can’t stop singing November has been such a great month Musically Thank you Blake for reacting to this ❤️
PETITION for Blake to react to RED Taylor’s version. ✨
YES that guitar moment is sooo beautiful soul. I literally said beautiful soul 5 seconds before you did lol it’s a bop
As a Swiftie who's pretty new to the fandom and has gotten to hear both versions for the first time recently, PLEASE react to all of RED, and if possible compare the originals to the re-recordings! I know it would take a long time but it's worth it... Taylor is worth it. ❤
Sound Vapors is gonna do this!
I can just see that you love to produce a Taylor song one day. Hope it happens for you.
Love U Blake! Let's get together and build this up. 1 million first.
PS. You ALWAYS cheer me up & I agree with most of your opinions.
That 1 dislike annoying the shit out of me. Wish you all the best blake hope you reach 1M soon
