Sorry folks but this is a ranty post from me today. I recently had some idiot try his best to cause problems for me and my business. Like many other plumbers, I often get phone calls from customers wanting quotes for jobs and probably the most popular has to be an outside tap. Some people are happy to still charge pre pandemic rates for this job, but as we know things have changed and gotten more expensive and in my opinion this job isn’t worth the amount of work involved for anything less than £100 plus materials. We also have to adhere to water regulations something your average diy handyman would not have a clue about. I think I speak for all my professional plumber brothers and sisters out there. “If you think it’s expensive to hire a professional to do a job, wait until you hire an amateur “ 🫡💪🏼👊🏻.

Needs to be minimum double check valve for outside taps buddy.
Nice install, 😊 you see some right abortions lashed in from the cheapest quote brigade.
I had one recently I went to fix a toilet fill valve and had to turn main off. They had an outside tap mounted on the inside of the kitchen cupboard by the stop tap 😅
