This was written for him especially to do on the 68 Comeback Special. That song later on in the USA, was used for years for Kodak commercials. The Camera and film company figured Memories would be a great song for taking px, so growing up I’d heard this all the time and then one day I also saw Elvis sing it. ( I didn’t know that he’d been the first to sing it. ❤

If you like Can't Help Falling In Love and Elvis's total showmanship you may like to check it out from the film Elvis On Tour, 1972, I believe it shows Elvis as the only entertainer in history that could close a show this way, without any silly encores. Total showmanship.

Great compilation of Elvis at his most mesmerising. Love the '68 comeback and seeing him really enjoying himself. The recent (Aug 2023) documentary 'Reinventing Elvis' is a great behind the scenes look at the making of this TV special (now streaming on Paramount+). Thanks for your insightful comments.

Elvis heard "Can't Help Falling in Love" on a demo when he entered the recording studio. He immediately told them he wanted that song. He ended all his concerts with that song.

There will be many imitations, but never another Elvis. My two favorites are "In The Ghetto" and "If I Can Dream." I hope you have heard them. Also, two good friends of his, I think you would enjoy so much, are the Righteous Brothers, Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley. You will be amazed! As for Elvis, there are no words good enough.❤❤❤😢

James, the song you were thinking of was Abraham,Martin Luther and John. Do not remember orig artist that recorded it.

Do u remember what your first reaktion to Elvis was? I would really like to see it 😉
Check out his first movies . Love me tender and king Creole, can't remember the next 2. Then check the tv appearances. Go back to the beginning, you can really see a change in voice and dance moves, before he changed to karate.
You might want to see a video, just for personnel fun: Is THIS the closest voice EVER to Elvis Presley's? Or... is it ACTUALLY Elvis?!
