      @@HappyLittleBoozer the reason I put the quotation marks is because the first thing I did was c.S > Kara key grab > 5k > Kara key grab > etc., I was so shocked that it took this long to be covered in any capacity
      (I don’t use discords like that so I wouldn’t know if it came up somewhere else, this is my only knowledge of this existing so if it does exists somewhere else, I’m sorry!!!)

    As a defensive player this makes me smile. She has great movement options in base form (air dash, intertwine and tilt, and heed and haul). If you get comfortable with her in base form, you'll dominate once she transforms. I love , love, love her mechanics. I will definitely main her soon.

      true, but back megafist is airborne frame 3 iirc so he might be able to interact at points where other characters cant. test some stuff out dont give up

      I've found that FD into backdash is our best option for most ABA things if they aren't doing any delays.

      In normal mode you can hold your dash button and block at the same time to safely approach when you’re out of meter

      she has fuzzies off of safejumps and can safejump off like every knockdown otg she gets if im not mistaken. 236k in jr can be fast drift rrc'd either forward or down on block for a high-low 50/50 after your high-low 50/50 (pretty common tbh but thought id mention), it's kinda silly but you can use fd to cancel your normal mode run at the end of the first burst of speed you get, then cancel it into another run for faster movement overall. you are gaining less meter than you would by normally running, and you will have small vulnerable gaps unlike normal run, but it's cool ig.

    I've been taking advantage of keeper of the key in moroha mode as a way to re-engage pressure from any situation/position and a delayed frame trap from Kara 236s that midscreen on trade if the opponent attempts to check my pressure results in a full combo due to it being guaranteed to come out after the super freeze (7frames startup to the super freeze) and if aba gets hit after the super freeze you can instantly start moving in to combo off the super

      Yeah this super is seriously the best and even if you have 1 jealousy left, you can use the super to get an uninstall off safely. Really useful super with so many uses.

      Her pressure is really threatening without it, so don't sweat not getting it too much! When they first added dash cancels I spent like a week getting into my muscle memory so it may seem easy for me but only because I really grinded it out early on, I struggled too.

    FYI you can 5H > cancel with 214K, 236K, or 236S to keep going. 5H has 18 frames of blockstun, being a level 4 move, so 214K (26f), 236K (17f startup), and 236S (12f startup) are all relevant here. I wish there was some way to make this frametrap but i suppose that's using 214K and punishing whatever they do.
    Here's another fun thing: if you tap dash and then hit f.S it'll get a tiny bit of extra range. I don't know what the frame data on that looks like, but it gives the opportunity to hit f.S from farther back (ex from round start position). c.S or 5K > dash cancel into quick f.S can be quite scary! Presumably you could also kara-cancel into 214H, though 214H is 2f slower than f.S. No clue what the minimum dash time is before it can be canceled into f.S.
    I feel like the 5K > 214H loop is gonna get nerfed, haha.

    Never really did dash cancelling before, and now it seems necessary for setups like this! Any tips on the 5k 66 214h? I can only nail it 1/20 times.

    I think the only thing left we need to find with A.B.A is a way for NM to deal with avoidance based gameplans, and she'll be golden. Even then, I think the "gameplan" against zoners is better JR meter management. Especially against Asuka, threatening JR has been successful for me. Alongside A.B.A's high health, she is able to wait for 50 meter so she can mode swap right into JR.632146K and pull up. Sometimes, I'll run up and swap back once I'm close enough to run NM preasure again, since wasting JR for preasure in those problem match-ups has a real chance to leave you meterless and at full screen.

      When I lose 70% of my life to ABA in install and then she she's stuck in normal mode with 0 rage I think to myself "Thanks for the easy win." If you can't threaten install, your neutral pressure is gone.

    Amazing video!! Do wonder though if you have any thoughts on her matchups against axl and johnny?
    Her 5h and command dash seems pretty good if spaced against johnny, though she seems to struggle a-lot with an axl if they sit far opposite of you

      Ive been purposely going out of my way to play against her bad matchups, so I might be able to give some advice! :]
      Axl:
      Parry is your friend. If you can parry him full screen and then just keep blocking after, you get 25% jealousy and he can't punish the weirdly long recovery since he's far away. Your main difficulty here will be if he uses the full screen command grab.
      If he does that or tried to set up whistling wind (also if you can avoid/block a sickle flash) you can manually enter jealousy and go wild. Then it's just up to you to dash block towards him, Airdash block towards him, or use 214/236k to close the gap.
      Johnny:
      I'm pretty sure he's minus enough after mist finer that you will either punish with or at least force him to block a 5H. This move is also great at checking him for trying to set up a card while you're blocking. The real tech is making sure you find his favorite mist finers to use, since low mist finer loses to 236k and mid mist finer loses to 214k.

      @SaturnnCast explained the Johnny neutral interactions, which is mainly where I am at that MU so for Axl I will say that walking him down is really the goal and parrying specific tools is very beneficial.
      Axls strings are very risky and if you know how to deal with his special cancels, ABA can really hit him for it. Using FD will make rainwater and his tornado whiff, which is really important because those can't be punished easily on block. After using FD to make tornado whiff, 5H will CH very easily and allow you to 236K 5K 214H as a punish from most distances. If rainwater whiffs, ABA can't outright punish him but FD coupled with rainwater moving him back pushes him really far to the corner and while rainwater is hard for her to hit, she can use that time to pop install and play neutral like that if she wants. His other options are rensen and snail, snail is -24 on block meaning you can almost always punish with dash 5H 236K and rensen leaves a gap long enough for ABA to iad punish. You don't always have to hit Axl mid special but representing these will dissuade him from mindlessly throwing the same option at you over and over.
      Neutral is pretty simple though, check his air approaches and slowly walk him into the corner until he has no choice but to be in your range. She can react to fullscreen rensen pretty reliably with parry to get some Jealousy but don't rely on it to heavily because he has his fullscreen command grab.

      Also, tornado doesn't hit extended hurtboxes, so if Axls ever are charging up nados you can always chuck 5H at it and you won't be hit

    Any tips on doing the Kara key grab, I can't seem to get it to work, I can dask cancel out of the kick but I can't seem to cancel the dash animation into keygrab.

      Press 5k, buffer dash and input 214, then you have a few frames to hit H and get the kara. If you get keygrab you hit H too quickly, if you get dash cancel you were too late.

      If you're not already, use the dash macro
      But the way I think about it is this: I press kick and IMMEDIATELY press dash, then I 214H
      If you press dash while doing any sort of the motion, it won't come out so the faster you hit dash the more time you have to input 214H.

      There's a lot of ways you could input it. I was trying a variety out and what has been most consistent for me is 5k > 2145 DashMacro H. This always works for me except for in one case: since this special has a back input, you cannot still be holding back when you press the dash button because it turns into backdash so you don't get the dash cancel. Plink the dash macro and H together but always make sure you've fully let get of the directional input.

    How do I buffer the HS DP in this combo at 1:50? I've been trying for an hour to get this part off with no results.

      I did a dash kara'd danzai, and I have the input reader and virtual controller on the top left for a visual if you want to see that as a guide. The way I input it usually is cS -> dash macro+6 -> 23H

      Really just focus on doing the input as soon as you can after pressing cS. The combo requires a bit of execution so dont worry about not getting it immediately, there are other combos from that hit you can opt for instead for similar damage/oki. Good luck 🫡

      Its really timing and practice. The way I do them is cS/5K -> dash and input (214) -> P/K/S/H
      While my left hand is inputting the motion, my right hand presses the dash macro, then once the motion is done I press the button

      It allows you to gain jealousy against zoners, punish long recovery moves if you roman cancel, and influence your opponents to leave longer gaps in their pressure. Sure it's startup is a bit slow but it's not really meant to be a Baiken Parry.

      Pretty much what above said.
      If you parry moves that have gatlings/followups you can actually invuln through them and punish your opponent at times, so its another thing for your opponent to watch out for and it gives a massive amount of install that can generally give you enough time to pop install, play neutral, and if you don't get a hit return back to normal form with another chance later.
      I think it's very natural to use vs Asuka so if you fight any try it, looking at their spells you can start timing your parry pretty easily and even represent it vs his strong roundstart spells

I've seen people complain about parry not having some sort of followup to guarantee a punish and they're missing the point. its meant to be for when you don't want to risk trying to land a hit but need to get gauge back. if it was also a strong defensive tool that gave you guaranteed punishes to get out of pressure it would be stupid

      236K is called "numpad notation" which uses a keyboard's number pad to represent where you put your stick. 236 means down (2), down-forward(3), forward(6) and K means kick.

      Plus/minus refers to the amount of frames where either you or your opponent are in some kind of animation while the other is not. So if close slash is +1, there is one frame where you are free to act but the opponent is still in the blocking animation, meaning you have free time to act. Minus moves are dangerous because they are done blocking before you're finished with the animation of the move, giving them time to punish you.
      Oki refers to when you finish a combo, the opponent hits the ground for a second, and while they are down you get ready to continue pressuring them. Oki is possible because you can be hitting them with a move on the first frame they have stood up (we call this a meaty), giving them zero ability to do anything but keep defending against you.

      Always form your own opinions on fighting games and characters, theres a lot of bias and no one source can be fully trusted more than you. I would take everything you've heard about and test for yourself and come to your own conclusions by validating things for yourself. e.g. test these strings against people yourself and if they work and dominate your games, then you can conclude what I was talking about was right and vice versa, if it doesn't work then you know ABA's normal mode pressure isn't as strong as I said.

    I don't know if ABA is good or shit, but one thing that must be keeping opinions of ABA down is that 90% of the ABA players in celestial on launch week are ridiculously goddamn predictable. I'm not that scared of ABA install when at long ranges they run at max speed straight into my pokes because they expect me to be scared, and at short range they always go for the overhead after a couple normals AND then mash buttons while they're -2 so my jabs are basically a guaranteed punish. I know you're doing the unreactable overhead instead of lows, and I know you're mashing afterwards so this shit is just free. I have seen so many ABAs do the exact same thing, so I'm wondering where they inherited the ape genes.
    It's the remaining 10% of ABA players that actually don't do the exact same things and actually mix up their options.

    I hate aba as a dlc character. She is really fun to fight tho...weather shes in jealousy or not. Plus her jnstall keeeps u on your toes

    Please, don't listen to this videos. A.B.A is the worst character in the game and she IS NOT a threat for any character in normal mode. Just rush in on her, she doesn't have the tools to punish anything. If you are losing it's all because you are bad, and NOT because she is good.
