F35 fighters fast and LOW over Ullswater in the Lake District UK. 14/04/22

- Four RAF F35's playing chase through the Lake District. Decided to try and focus on just the lead aircraft to see the full "flypast" but as they were so close together the lead one was photobombed from the second one. The third was high and missed and the fourth was lower and faster than expected....thats my excuse anyway. the scenery is absolutely stunning.
It is indeed

How lucky they are to live there. Idyllic.
Not as stunning as the camera work /s
I don't get jealous of footballers I get jealous of fighter jet pilots
we all do
I get jealous of NBA players, I do respect these pilots.
@@jml9550 great salary for throwing a ball
@@nathanarrowsmith2506 sure. Throwing a ball that millions and millions of people around the world watches, plus millions and millions of $s on endorsements. Like it or not, people are willing to pay big money to watch.
Hahaha OK 👍
I'm impressed with how well it kept up with it as it flew past
Gen 5 aircraft have aggressive automatic maneuvering which prevents airplane from crashing. Basically you can't make any mistakes. The stuff that they show you in Top Gun training is stupid now adays.

So blessed to have been in the actual lake in Lake District when two fighter jets flew straight over mine and my families heads! It was a fantastic experience that I will never forget
I can't even imagine what an intense rush it is to pilot one of these beauties!
Except that it’s side stick.
Watched them from Rydall Cave after being up Loughrigg Fell on the same day. At the summit I had seen a Eurofighter Typhoon come out the clouds above me, roll a few times then fly off which was amazing. Great footage, thanks for sharing!
You're welcome, the Typhoon you spotted sounds awesome! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video. I’m getting emotional. Why? Being one of the few propulsion performance engineers on this program, it warms my heart when I see these brave men and women having fun and doing what they do best!
I work in the office of the company that makes the fluffy dice they hang in the cockpit. I'm getting IRL tears watching these lucky bastards bouncing our dice around.

What's hard to convey via video is just how loud these jets are. Very cool video.
ear piercing😂i feel bad for civilians with no ear protection
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ I already have. Perhaps you should spend less time telling other to repent, and more time repenting yourself. To be everywhere, is to be nowhere. Just a thought.
I live a few miles from a major motor speedway and during the big races we've had a formation of four F-18's fly over our house on the way there at about a thousand feet and I can tell you it rocks the whole neighborhood.
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ no.
@Repent and believe in Jesus Christ why have you highlighted 3:16 when the whole video is only 1:17? I just spent ages trying to skip to 3:16 Damn you!
Been lucky enough to see this when swimming in Ullswater, and the same along the banks of Loch Ness. What an incredible job👏
It's awsome. We see them all the time in the lakes. Bass lake, derwent water and the rest. Never gets old. If your ever in the area around June July time we get the sea king helicopters at wasdale doing drills with the mountain rescue lads. (Or at least we used to, don't get out that way all that often now).
Great footage. 👍
Cheers! I am partial to a sea king or two I'll keep an eye out for them, thanks for watching!
I live over that way and don't see them too often now unless it's the real deal
Excellent! Very good to see F-35's in the low level environment, I've heard multiple times the F-35 was so advanced it didn't need to operate at low level. Glad to see the RAF therefore training in that domain.
If you hope to field a capable Air Force, the pilots need to be capable of the tasks they may be called upon to carry out. There may always be circumstances under which it may be necessary to operate at low level. For example, the lower you are able to fly, the less likely you are to be picked up on radar...... Back in the 90's Gulf War, some US Air Force pilots commented on how capable the RAF were at missions carried out at low (around 200ft) level....... The RAF may only be a relatively small air force, but it's capable of punching above it's weight. The RAF carried out the longest ever bombing mission during the Falklands conflict (around 8000 miles), until it was beaten by the US Air Force, who launched a raid on Taliban positions in Afghanistan, taking off from US soil with their B52's, and landing back there after completing the mission....
This is straight over our house in hartsop at the foot of kirkstone. They've been coming over like this around 8am most days the last couple of weeks. Spectacular but it ain't half a rude awakening. Stark reminder of the shit goings on in Ukraine
Yeah roll on the War eh..
Thanks for buying our jets...( USA) I guess America is not as dumb as Europe thinks.
@@3joewj We only think the dumb ones are dumb. Thanks for selling them.
Not much going on in Ukraine, it's mostly bullshit. This is just normal training they do all the time.
@@3joewj F35B wouldn't get off the ground if it wasn't for the British.
Very expensive but would work in collaboration with Fairbanks what's the range?
1200 nm or there abouts.
We were At the steam railway in Dalegarth as these flew over, so gutted I was too slow to video it, thank you!
Ah no! Thats a shame, they look and sound really great! I'm sure there will be plenty of other opportunities come your way! Thanks for watching!
What a contrast 🤣
Well, that's just awesome. The wife and I visited Pooley Bridge in June for a few days hiking and relaxing and considered it one of the best places we've ever been.
The jet is a damn BEAST.
And fast
Crazy technology in that foooking thing.
This........... is some sexy footage... well done mr camera man 👏👏👏
The realist incredible skill is the cameraman's amazing steady hands
Keeping something as fast as a fighter jet in frame while it's going horizontally is no small feat
I have experienced this, I was on that lake in roughly 1999 and a pair of Tornado's did the exact same run what an awesome sight.
Imagine living in one of those cottages and hearing this roar over as you sit down for tea. Would shit myself :3
Was once on a train from Glasgow to London and a fighter jet passed over the train in a gulley at such a low level it blew my mind. I recently have seen Typhoon and F16s here in Germany but nowhere near as close as this video. You can hear them loud and clear several kilometers away, so loud!!!
Saw 1 of these flying over Lake Windermere early May seen them before & they never cease to amaze me
That’s at about 40%. Watch these things when they’re really moving and it’s impressive. I dated a woman that coded on the F-35. I had 15 minute phone conversations with her and my brain was actually deeply fatigued - this never ever happened to me before or since. She was crazy intellectual 🧐
Yeah yeah yeah but the aliens spaceship are way faster
Your brain is telling you go MGTOW that's why it hurts
In person, you can feel the rumble in your soul.
Which would be better in a dog fight f35 or 22, I know the f22 a multi role fighter but don't know which one is best.
As far as I know they're both designed for different roles. The F22 is designed to be an air superiority jet so one assumes would win vs an f35.
F35's have had around 20:1 kill ratios at red flag, so they are certainly on their A game even in their secondary role
The f22 is not for sale outside of the US where as the f35 is sold world wide .......
It is sort of like asking which would win in a straight line race a Bugatti or an F1 car
Both are made for different roles, F-35 sort of does everything F-22 has one job
Thing is... if F22 enters a dogfight, then the pilot made a mistake. Still, would likely win. But all in all, the F22 should finish the battle without the other plane at such distance the enemy would not even notice them
I love living here its so beautiful.
Awesome video! That sound gives me chills.

Bit naughty so close to the village bet that was impressive to see in person and even more impressive the pilots view. Awesome clip.
Is there somewhere you can find out when the flights are happening
Afraid not Jason, it's pot luck really. They can potentially fly every day Mon-Fri but Fridays is usually a half day and they don't fly on weekends at low level. Thanks for watching!
They do operate to schedules, but these are not made common knowledge for obvious reasons. I was once a member of a group who had an RAF liason Officer (a former pilot) give us a talk one evening. He briefly explained at the time how the low level training in the Lakes was planned and undertaken. From what I remember, it was all carefully planned and organised, with groups of aircraft being "booked" into the Lakes area to do their stuff, then checked out again on completion..... It certainly wasn't all Gung-Ho let's go, even if that's how it looks.
How much consumption? 6000 liter of military jet fuel per hour? How much CO2 emission?
When I watch the video every time. All I here is the top gun music. Good stuff right there!
I have just come back from the Lakes and saw the same thing. It was mind blowing
Lake District is a beautiful place! I went there camping couple of times!

Awesome! At 0:27 The last house on the lane is called 'Rooking End'. Doris, our family friend, used to live there and I stayed there quite a lot. I have managed to grab a screen capture of the house and the F35. It's absolutely amazimg and an image that I can't shake oiut of my mind. Thanks for that.
Had the Skips been at Spadeadam range or just up from the Mach loop? Impressive catch!👍
The scenic view is really so beautiful, good stuff. Thanks for the video👍🏼

Please use a tripod. The shaky camera makes it impossible to focus on anything in the video
Not much point using a tripod to photograph a *moving* object.......
Great camera work, looks like Top Gun Maverick
Beautiful video..Thank you
fantastic, and what's really silly is that they pay them to fly
What
@@polpotnoodle7441 I think his point is, they would do it for free.
Edit: or even pay for the privilege.
They don’t really pay them much considering the jets are worth a hundred million dollars. And flying the jet for 2 hours already costs more to the government than the pilot’s annual pay.
We were camping on Coniston years ago at sunset and a globe master flew the entire length it was so powerful it slit the water underneath. I will never forget it it was like a veitnam film scene.
Vietnam......must of been great I agree.
Wow they aint kidding about it being a stealth plane.. Can barely hear it coming
Yeah you really do notice that with the engine. It just popped round the side of the hill and you barely hear it until it has actually started to pass you.
They did a good job avoiding the SAMs :)
Just got back from a weeks holiday there and we saw them every day, also saw a big transport plane think it was a c130.
Fantastic to see and hear.
How. An they fly so low without terrain following radar like the tornado?
Nice scenery and jets ..... whats not to like ?
No joke, I was at old water today and one of the F-35 fighter jets flew over and I was on a paddle board with my mum and dad well no just my mum and the jet was about 100 m above us and it was amazing it was so cool to see how low and how loud the jets
Great footage...looks like 617 Sqdn. 👍🏻
Indeed it is. Thanks for watching!
Does this happen regularly in the Lake District?
Hi, there are no guarantees but usually you'll have a few fly through each week.
Yes. It's been happening for decades. The Lake District is one of the low flying training areas used by both the RAF and the US Air Force......
This is amazing, but I feel reallly bad for those houses. Can't imagine what thats like if you're not expecting it.
It prolly made a few gran' pa's drawers need to be changed.
You'd be out watching it I imagine 👀
I live in those houses below, they used to come once in a while and it was cool to watch, now it's too often and becoming a nuisance, the noise can be unbearable. Still cool to see though.

Hello, would you be able to make a video on how to get to good viewing locations?
Hi, it is something that I have been working towards producing. Hoping to have some locations done by the end of the year.
@@D.P.R.Images Thank you so much. I am looking at going up next month. Is there a chance you could drop me a decent location?

So stealthy they can hardly be captured on film!
Lol that’s the type of training to avoid radar to detect them, pretty low and between hills 👌
Just an amazing sound from a jet engine
Wow

Awesome! How do you get to know when they’re flying past? Is there a forum or twitter?
Fraid not! Just have to stand there for six to seven hours in the hope they will fly past! :grimace: Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!!
@@D.P.R.Images So, how do you find out what day they’re going to fly?
@@Mesatallic There are ways to check, but you need to go about it correctly. I've never tried it personally, but I think there is some sort of procedure. The Lake District is a low flying training area for both the RAF and the US Air Force.
The real top gun! 🔥💪 Awesome beautiful view
A little disappointed they didn’t use the F-35 to film Maverick but I get it. It’s an expensive ass plane. Still an incredible film tho.

Just a suggestion, get a second or third camera or go pro and fix mount it in one or two directions to capture the video more steady and stable and then just edit together, so you don't have to pan and shake back and forth, otherwise 👍
