Claudia noticed the portrait right before Santiago asks about their maker, that's why she switched to Bruce. I'd say he asked in the first place bc he read her mind 👀 Pretty sure they all knew from the start, not only Armand, and are able to block the rest, so she thought they didn't know...

I love it. Since, I have to remind myself that changing it from a white plantation owner to a black owner of a sex house, sorry for the wording there, make sense. Since most things were change, along with how season 2 is set up also.

I have a question for you. Did it bother you to see Louis and Armand showing such affection towards each other? The reason that I ask is because of the comment that you made during that bit, but initially, I assumed that the homosexual aspect of this series didn't bother you. But after that comment, I have to wonder if it really does?

I have a hard time watching this show it is so far from Anne Rice’s actual character’s.
I agree. I watched the first season and while, admittedly, it was at the very least entertaining, I am SUCH a huge Vampire Chronicles fan that it's so hard to accept the changes they made. Mostly because it was entirely unneeded. QoTD might have been a shitshow due to similar changes they made that were also unneeded, but at least it still felt in the spirit of Anne Rice. This feels like an entirelyyyyy different story written by someone totally different. I have to forget about the Vampire Chronicles entirely in order to even remotely enjoy the series. which... is very, very hard to do. The actor playing Lestat is great, if not a bit more flamboyant than I pictured him. He's basically entirely gay. I always envisioned Lestat as sexually fluid... but completely masculine. Might be an unpopular opinion but I feel Tom Cruise did that the best. And the guy who plays Louis is not beautiful. He's just not. Louis is supposed to be beautiful. So... that sucks. First Claudia I could live with, although it's hard to fill the shoes of young Kirsten Dunst. This second Claudia isn't really... doing it for me. And Armand? Ugh... TERRIBLE CASTING... I don't care... he's an awful fit. Is it so hard to find young, attractive actors these days? These vampires are explicitly stated to be beautiful. So where's the beauty?

@@walexander000 Yes after I saw the actors they are using that did it for me. Anne Rice was very explicit in describing her characters & none of these fit the descriptions.
Even though the Tom Cruise & Brad Pit movie wasn’t well received I enjoyed it. For the most part it stayed to the actual story that was written & I could envision the actors really being the characters. None of them fit now. How can you go from a blonde curly haired Claudia to a black girl? Her hair was a big part of how she was portrayed, remember when she cut it off because she wanted to be an adult & it grew back exactly the same, & when the Paris vampires destroyed her & Louis saw her burnt remains & Anne pointed out him touching what was left of a golden curl? I can’t imagine if Anne Rice was still alive she would be ok with the choice of characters.
This should never have been called Interview With A Vampire because the name & a few things similar are the only real thing of the actual story.
If people want to read good vampire stories & really know the real characters read the books. This poor excuse for it is not the original story at all.
@@walexander000 I concur 100%. I was not happy with the casting of Louis, Armand and Claudia. Louis in The Vampire Chronicles is beautiful, angelic looking, Armand is suppose to have a European look and Claudia's curls was essential to her character. The only one they got right in looks is the actor who plays Lestat. Even changing the story of Louie being a plantation owner to a brothel owner was completely unnecessary. At least The Mayfair Witches' first season is more true to the books.
@@domoniquejones6833 Disagree. Not only they lack beauty but they also lack charisma. In the original books, most of people who got turn into vampire were chosen because they were beautiful. Remember, they are hunters, not prey, and hunters are beautiful to bait the prey, so even if they wanted to rewrite the entire story and take actors with different ethnicity, at least take people with bare minimum = charisma. So it's not even about personal preference at this point, they just completly miss the point.
Even Claudia who got turn by mistake after Louis let his wild hunger take over were described as beautiful like a doll because she was a really young child. Lestat aside the whole cast got different ethnicity, age, and taking actor with no charisma not doing the show any favor. The only one and I agree with Walexander that somewhat fit is Lestat yet making him completly gay is completly off charactar.
I haven't watch season 2 yet so I cannot talk about the new char. But it is so disappointing. My heart beaks everytime I see Armand which is my favourite char, going from a slavic teenager who went tru slavery, yet again, he got choosen by Marius because he was beautiful, to whatever the show display, erhhh
