They’re not always bad. As Valkia my allies were recruiting mostly Chaos Knights and Warriors, at least. Not the best units, but the best you can get without warband recruiting/upgrades.
My favorite episode of this "ignore an unkillable thing" series is that battle against Malus, where you had to trigger his demon form at all cost, and then immediately hide in every cover possible, waiting him die.
My favourite one was when the AI had some bullshit wargear (paradox mantle, i think) which gave him insane resistance and he was brought down despite that.
This is relatable. Just had a siege where his army was mostly trash and did very little, but he just brought low (not killed luckily) my low lvl Eltharion, a phoenix, my mage, a sun dragon and killed a terracotta sentinel (allied to Cathay) who took the point with his last breath. That construct was a bloody hero. Malekith was fired at by a Handmaiden, Gyrocopter with Brimstone Guns and 3 Lothern Sea Guards basically all game. He lost like half hp, only routed cuz of army losses. Was about lvl 30. To quote Sansa Stark, 'he's a monster.'
This reminded me about the time i had to fight Louen with a vampire lord on a dragon and a skellies stack agains his knights army. He was the only one left and my lord was running away from him the whole fight and using Vanhel's Danse Macabre on cooldown to get away from him while also trying to heal what was left of my skellies to get the army losses. 🤣
Hey guys, that's my campaign here. I've actually managed to win it on the 4th try and was curious to see how Legend would do it. I did try to lure Malekith away from the main fight but for some reason he catched Alastar every time. I won it by corner camping and luring him in order to blast him with missiles but he did reck me a bit with his magic. Anyways it was cool seeing my campaign on the channel
@@aleksandaraleksandrov324 I kinda like this mod basically gives you a choice and I'm honestly enjoying the harder confed's this time around, it's definitely still possible. Got a feeling CA want people to have to utilize the new allied AI armies options and engage with diplomacy systems more. I do think WH2 confed's were a bit too easy, but CA over correct everything. In my current Malekith campaign I have Belakor just running around murdering everyone on the map for me as long as I do his missions.

Doing a Morathi Campaign on legendary and could not confederate rakarth or Malekith yet, but having an alliance with N`kari definitely helps a lot. The main point is, that you have to build your own generals beside your legendary lord, in Warhammer 2 you could only use the confederates LL, which were way too strong. Does the easier confederation mod work for the ai as well, because if not it would give you an major advantage which would make the game even more easier to beat.
@@freddiemehrcurry428 I think the confederations are unreasonably hard to make and in a HE campaign if you don't confederate or don't attack other HE factions you'll find yourself clicking end turn hell of a lot. I get your point and I can certainly see the downsides of using this mod. Anyways IE is so big that it's non-stop action and there are a lot of baddies to beat so scrapping to make confeds wouldn't be fun for me.

For me personally the Morathi Campaign is a way bigger challenge and therefore more fun, because in WH 2 I would simply steamroll after Confederation of Rakarth and Malekith because these Lords are so powerful. So does this mod apply the easier confederations for the enemy factions as well or is it just for the player?
btw anyone else run into the dwarf tide? Grudgebearer said fuck the world in my campaign and spawned a bunch of throngs all over the world. Really strong units too. Had my army of swordmasters, sisters and reviving bastilodons fucked up.
I had this today with vlad. Ridiculous resistances, plus his ring and that healing bug that's going on meant a combined double stack of dwarf, empire, WE and high elf alliance armies couldn't even do enough damage to get him off max hp. He turned up spamming zombies too so I couldn't even get the army losses going. But you can at least auto resolve an army like that easily. I find it super funny because his faction ran away past the world edge mountains, but occasionally he just rocks up, rampages through the empire until he's the only unit left, dies and then comes back 20 turns later. Very lore accurate lol.
I had a similar issue with Throgg soloing my Vampire count army. He came at me with 2 full stacks against my mostly Zombie/Skelly spam. Thankfully I had some wraiths who were able to bring down the 3 mammoths after a while. But by the end, my army was down to breaking point, and Throgg fought on and on and on and on. Eventually, I managed to get him down to half health (and no more regen) and he finally ran. But he pretty much took on my whole army for 15 minutes. I've noticed that lords seem tougher in WH3IE. Or maybe it's because I haven't played Vampire Counts since Vanilla WH2.
had a battle similar to there where my shitty cathayan peasant army caught lokhir fellheart in an ambush and we proceeded to kill/rout his army and roughly half my army was left against just him. we kited him around shooting him full of arrows until our ammo was spent and then he proceeded to murder about 200 peasants before my army finally broke
Legend missed putting the war lions in a forest somewhere for a flanking attack, that's like 1 easy ranged unit routed and more also you never seem to cue up following move orders, that would have made your life easier in this case for luring Malekith away
Would have changed the AI's army formation. I'm sure Legend's idea was to crash his army into theirs knowing the user had better troops. The lions would have triangled the opposing army and would make it more difficult to ram them.
I've been playing khatep and Malekith isn't even on his dragon yet, what a monstrosity. Best way to deal with him is to just herd him into a settlement and siege him down with artillery that can fire over walls.

WH3 2.0 update added two more colors depending on faction, most order factions (plus Tzeentch) get blue, Skaven and Nurgle get green, and most others get red. Not sure if there are any others yet.
Yeah I am playing eataine as well. I am Strength rank 1, have been for about 40 turns. Averlorn is number 6. I used about 800 influence increasing relations to about 650 with averlorn. Still 40 points short of a confederation. And if I enter an alliance with them then Tyrion loses access to heart of averlorn so cant do that. They wont let me buy phoenix gate. all I got left is Sunfang and a bunch of treehuggers to kill I guess.
have to kill him early on/ lvl 17 ish, still gona be hard nonetheless, BUT, its gonna be easier,+ the fact that he is not gonna be a 1man army at the very least. Then you make him your vassal.
one thing i`ve noticed is that the AI almost never seems to recruit higher tier units, even here malekith has only got dreadspears and darkshards with a few shades i am at turn 100 in my festus campaign and the only thing i come across are spearmen/huntsmen, miners, skeletons/zombie and peasant stacks even the high elves, who should have a strong economy by now, are declaring war on me and sailing from ulthuan with archers stacks and a few spearmen is the AI broken or something? being able to easily win every fight was fun at the start, but now its just getting boring and tiresome fighting the same basic units again and again, there is no challenge i hope this is just a bug that CA is going to fix
Seems to be the case for some factions, not all, I'm fighting Khalida and at the start of the war she had some strong armies with necropolis knights, necrosphinxes and lots of tomb guard. Sylvania has some trash but also has terrorgheist, blood knights, vargulfs. And Tlaqua has like an army half of it being dinosaurs even with a blessed carnosaur. On the opposite end Skarbrand I haven't seen him recruit anything higher than bloodletters and it's turn 120
Dark elf AI spends a lot on black ark armies so their land armies tend to have 1 or 2 elites stacks and the rest of stacks are spears, shards and shades.
What difficulty you on? As someone else said, the AI is coming at with me all doomstacks by turn 100 on very hard. You must be getting very lucky, or there's something going on with the factions you are fighting that means they can't recruit anything other than low level stuff at the time

malekith resist 80% of the archers damage since physical resist combines with the missile resist
Its even more at 85%, he's got 50% missile and 35% physical. If he had 5% ward save on top it would be capped out.

If flying character is the last man standing you can jest hide in the forest and let 'no Units on ground penalty' break him

Force them into wars with everyone (pirates, chaos, de, orks, tombs...) more enemies they have, less powerful they feel.

Ai is comming at me with phoenix stacks and dinosaur stacks, not sure what is happening in your games
