- The full restoration of the forgotten 1959 Vw Beetle continues! I found this old car sitting in a garage back in 2019. It had been stashed away since 1994 waiting for a full restoration. Larry and I pulled this Volkswagen Beetle from it's soon to be grave, a crumbled garage and Larry brought it home. Follow along on the journey of the restoration videos as this car will be 100 % restored by Larry...(Edit and ME! haha)

great to see you do some hands on, both welding and dent poundings...you found a good instructor / take advantage...tanks for sharing
The teacher and his pupil . I like the way he explains how to do it and then steps away and lets you go . I hate having someone hover over me when I’m trying to do something. I love a teacher that puts confidence in his pupil . Love the video’s keep up the great work!
i am restoring my 1978 AM General DJ5 right hand drive postal jeep. I need to do some body work and I am picking up a TON of general body work tips from these videos. Thanks!
I have been waaaay behind on my video watching. Glad I am catching up! This series is just awesome!
Jason, so good to hear the excitement in your voice when you learn something and then turn around and do it well. As y'all said, you will have the confidence to work on your own and do very well with it. Larry, thank you for sharing the many years of experience and knowledge with Jason. You are awesome. Such a great teacher. Thank you for sharing this my friends. John here, from the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee.
Nothing like the student having hands on with the teacher. The questions asked by student and the mistakes pointed out by the teacher answer a lot of questions that us amateurs out here have. Thanks for bringing us along.
This is the kind of stuff I need to learn! Minimal-to-no body-filler is where it's at!
'Did you turn it on?' Now you can see! To be fair if you are used to 'old school' shields then why would you know? If those LCD's get damaged it can be just as cheap to buy a new shield but I am told they are much better for welding than the 'old school' ones so a good thing to have Jason. Hammer and dolly is a good skill to learn. Once you have it it's like riding a bike, you never forget. The replenishing hammer is a good tool to have. I wish I had one when I did bodywork. The principle is similar to an 'English Wheel'. The difference is the English Wheel is putting a smooth curve into new metal. Think of this like lots of little men with tiny hammers getting that curve back in shape. Great video Jason it's so enjoyable to watch. Thank you.👍👍
Larry is a good teacher. Calm ,patient and still gives enough room for you to figure things out yourself. Great couple of episodes.
GREAT WATCHING A TRUE PERFECTIONEST: NOW YOU ARE IN WELDING 101/AUTO BODY WORKS.I LEARNED THIS TRADE BACK IN THE 1970s AND WISH I WAS NOT TOO OLD TO DO IT AGAIN...KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK...RON A 75-YEAR-OLD MAN..
The planishing hammer is excellent. That will be my next welding project!
Man I dig all your vids, but this series is really a lot of fun and very inspiring. Thanks fer takin us along....
That guy is a great teacher
Larry has the patience of a saint………..only kidding, love to see!
This sounds be a show in its own right , he knows his stuff
He's an amazing teacher, he looks younger than me but he is knowledgeable. I've not seen a replenishing hammer at work like this, what a great tool to have for a restoration shop. Keep it up Jason, you are learning a ton from him.
Your devotion to the v-dub cause is inspiring, it's also effing insane, next level commitment to absolute basket cases has you bordering on sainthood status.
Great video. Learning a lot on repairing a fender. A lot very good instruction and information.
Simply outstanding! Love watching Larry's experience shine. He makes it look so easy! He also shows how it takes time to get it right on. Really good stuff Jason! The series just keeps getting better, great work man!
Nice going Grasshopper
