Also congratz to Mjr Carnyx for the fork and spoon and EKM :). 24:32 maybe a grenade launcher cup for a rifle? Nice fuel tank cap :D. I've found some interesting things aswell, not many but at elast some, 1 5 Reichspfennig coin form 1937 so its not in zinc but in aluminium-bronze so it is in mint condition and some german paste tubes one "Fußschweißsalbe" with all the original paint on (red) some Chlorodont toothpaste and some casings but as already said the highlight is the coin from 1783. Also when my father was cleaning out some cupboards he found a german "Ahnenpaß" ancestors pass which goes back to 1717 (it's form the 3rd Reich aswell) and a document from my grandfather who fought in WWII which was about him getting the iron cross 2nd class in 1943, so pretty cool stuff , but for a change not metal :D. Unfortunately I don't have much time to detect because I am writing a lotta tests in the near future, but I hope we can go detect someday, well they'll be over soon .

I also have a couple locations where the ground is magic... amazing condition! Found WWII stuff but also stuff from the 1600s in really good condition there. I really like that small browning belt, better steel then canvas, canvas was already gone on this location after so many years. Yeah, the Erkennungsmarke was a really fantastic lucky find! In the toy ones, you took a single paper cap and put it between two pieces of metal at the tip, then you either fired it from a spring powered pistol or you threw it by hand, and when it hit the ground it popped loudly and you got the smell of gunpowder. Pretty cool, I had one in the 1960's. Edited to add: I am crazy envious of you guys being able to detect over there. My Dad was a Corporal of an American Half Track that carried a twin 50 on a swivel mount in the front of the bed and a 30 cal or two on the rear of the bed. It's main weapon was I believe a 105mm Mortar. It was a heavy mortar of some caliber. He was there in Belgium during the Bulge. He fought from DDay +5 to the end of the war I believe in Chechoslavakia. 9th Armored Infantry, Headquarters Batalion. He was one of apprx. 100 men that survived an attempt by 1500 men to spearhead through the encircling German line at Bastogne to try to break the Airborne out. It did succeed in weakening the line enough that a day later we broke out. My Mom told me once that a totally different man came back from the war than the one she married. And not for the better. He was a good man though. Just had issues.

He said the ground was just solidly frozen, and you just could not dig a foxhole with an entrenching tool. Impossible. But if you didn't, you were basically dead meat, and I mean a DEEP freakin' foxhole too. Anyway, Dad said that he always kept a case or two of handgrenades in his half track just for blasting through the frozen topsoil so their shovels would work. He said every American did it if they could.

History Secrets This comment is a bit old but small arms cartridges aren't dangerous and at this point moisture got in them and they won't burn. I have over 5000 actually live rounds for my rifles stored in my house, perfectly safe.

The soil must be much more corrosive where you are digging than that around Berlin... The condition of your finds is so much more corroded to say its been in the ground for around the same length of time...

Soldiers would sometimes break the bullets off of a couple rounds to use the gunpowder as a firestarter.

The soil must be much more corrosive where you are digging than that around Berlin... The condition of your finds is so much more corroded to say its been in the ground for around the same length of time...
The ground where i detect in this video is pretty bad.. but there are places with good soil here too! :D
