Just noticed something after the upload, take a look at the Thumbnail of the pioneer in the sketch, then look at the statue I found and see how closely they resemble each other.
Cool.
Thanks to you Todd I learn more and more about our history! Thanks for being a honorable guy, you are amazing my friend!!
Thanks again James!
Todd, the grave stone you cleared off was amazing. Loved your back story, so much history . The musket ball and shank button were cool. The broken statue is a story in itself. Truly enjoyed your hunt, can’t wait to see what else is hidden beneath the earth. Take care and God Bless.👍😀👏
Thanks Twins...there is a lot of land here to look over and honestly I was delighted to find what we did. The Fort is there, I am getting warm, I feel it.
Fantastic video Todd. The statue resembles the pioneer in the Thumb nail. I love your friends mate.
Great video. Really appreciate your bringing the history of your digs into the story. The statue is an interesting find, but you both did well today.
Gorgeous Farm, I would be spending some time there Todd. The Cemetery looks to be from that period. Loved the video. Great intro!!
That statue is way way cool!!! Congratulations on finding it!!! God Bless!!!
Todd you hit it out of the park with this one mate. Awesome video.
Well Done, Old Copper Coin , best find of the day !!!
Past and present meet. What a concept!
You get some of the best permissions. Thanks for the work you put into your videos.
I love your Channel for drawing a picture of historical setting while doing searches- adds so much to the hobby. 'Don't let the "Chiggers" bite'
LOL...I had to 'refocus' what my channel was all about and get back to the basics.
Definitely go back. Enjoyed the video and love you bring in research to your videos.
Nice finds you getting close. Look forward to next weeks video.
I think it's just amazing your determination, and finds!
I hope to see more of the search of the fort!
Kudos!👍🏻
Tune in next Friday. I have another good site I check that might be more convincing.....the farm is very large and just will take time to rule it in or out....thanks!!!
Very nice finds. This was fun to watch. Great story Todd. I called it as soon as you pulled it out. Fishing reel part. Lol. Thanks for the adventure.
You bet buddy....nice seeing you this weekend.
Man you take Metal Detecting to a higher level. Definitely different a refreshing from the others. Thanks.
Todd,
I hope that cemetery can be cleared and protected,
no doubt that is a lot of potential history.
This Fort area is a wonderful site and you do it justice.
Cheers,
Rik
Thanks Rik. The farm is large and there are several possible locations on it. Just wait until next Friday. Tell me what you think.....I plan on going back.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives I can't wait 😊
Todd,
That sounded like a hammer dulcimer at
the closing credits, what ever it is , it sounds great!
Cheers,
Rik
Hey Thanks Rik...yep the Hammer Dulcimer...my favorite all time instrument.
Lots of cool finds! I am wondering if that was an old radiator cap. The kind that stuck out of the hood of cars and farm tractors. Loved the statue as well! Great video!
Could be. The backside is too far gone to see what it might have connected to....but I think you are more right than not. Thanks Kyle for your patronage.
It's amazing how much history we walk on each day. It just amazes me. Thanks for sharing it with us. As always god bless you and your family
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks Gay
Todd I think the round thing you found at 13:46 in the video is a old iron bed post cap . I have 2 or 3 with a little different designs on them . And the thing you found at 14:15 is the side of a Pflueger bait cast fishing reel . I really like the figurine you found I am like you it kind of looks like a Confederated Soldier bur the face reminds me of George Custer lol . Grate video once again and I hope you find the Fort .
Thanks Kenny...the round thing could be from a bed but I've never seen anything like it....even on a bed.
stay at it guy killa vidz wer all watchin from wis 🤜🤛
Maybe a bit off topic, but regarding cemeteries: I had the pleasure? on a business trip, to visit a cemetery behind a co-workers house outside of Danville. It was off a road, off a dirt road, then down a path, to her house. She took me out to what they called an old slave cemetery on the family's property.
It was a sad reality check, seeing markers of rock and some standing stones, some with nothing discernable. None with any writings on them. The depressions in the ground were heart wrenching! Some very small as for children. None were very long, interpreted as not tall people at all. I'll never forget seeing it first hand. That was 21 years ago. I now live in northern NC and haven't seen the likes since.
Yep I feel the same. I often come across abandoned cemeteries like this or a group of rocks in the woods that no doubt is a cemetery from long ago. Many are slaves but not all, and all are melancholy to experience first hand.
I enjoyed your video.
Great video Todd. That pioneer figure is awesome. What is it made of? Thanks for sharing!
Feels like Lead
A bridal rosette, and the outside to a fishing reel
Hello from Knoxville my friend. I enjoyed the video you always find the best places. I liked the little statue also. I would love to go back to Yellowstone someday. That place is amazing. Didn’t you do a video of your trip to Yellowstone. It seems like remember your son panning for gold. Stay safe say hello to the family for me.
Hey Steve wish I had been doing videos back then...it was 2017 but I never started making videos until August 2019.
@@AppalachianHistoryDetectives I’m getting old and don’t remember things like I used to. It would still be fun to go back
I viewed a old war sight on Google Earth after the wet season when everything dies.also I had cleared the 233 acre property with a slasher.when I copied the view in black and white I was amazed by the evidence of old roads and early activity.
Interesting. Maybe some old unknown homesites on there. A metal detector is a good idea for that land.
at 14.39 of the video, it looks to me like the side piece to an old fishing reel with the handle bent maybe.
Yep....I see it now....thanks.
Keep. At. It. Bud. From. Wis
Thanks Linda
I know that dude…
The day turned out well.....but too bad I didn't film the goodies you really found that day. That will forever be a secret.
Fishing reel part?
Correct!
youre about a mile off..its down north river behind an old church..ask steve where the church is..find it and go straight uphill 75 yards..there youll find a graveyard..the old fort was right beside it
Thanks...I will reach out to my buddy Steve. He helped me with this introduction to the site with the land owner several years ago. Now I need to go hunt below it it sounds. Send me an email: appalachianhistorydetectives@gmail.com I have some specific questions I cannot put on here publicly.....thanks!
Glennwood Johnson showed it to me 25 years ago
That sounds like good information 😊
@@jackscott6551 I wish I got to meet him before he died. I know his son who lives at Bloomery. Is it between Augusta and NRM? Steve says he doesn’t know where it is.
i emailed you buddy @@AppalachianHistoryDetectives
