I can recommend you take a look at Poszetka from Poland and Berg & Berg from Sweden. Berg & Berg make some of the best RTW trousers and outerwear that I've come across and are some of the best value for money especially during sale. Poszetka are just incredible and you really notice their passion. They offer 400€ halv canvassed rtw jackets made from English wools with milanese buttonholes and some of the most diverse pocket squares I've ever seen (comparable to Shibumi Florence or Rubinacci in terms of design).
These recommendations are of interest, thank you, and we also appreciate when others are able to respond with personal experiences. Thank you, ~Sonya & Hugo

I had that mic once. You'll need a Cloudlifter to provide an extra +25dB of ultra-clean gain. That means you can turn the gain knob down = less noise. Personally, I'd never go the dynamic route again, but my needs are different to yours. Consider Triad-Orbit mic stands; a modular system that's incredibly heavy and expensive. Made in the USA, so acquiring that 'extra' piece can prove tricky. However, if you do video as well as audio, you'll never look back.

I have a wonderful MTM tailor in Shanghai and I get all my clothes from them. It’s actually two Irish guys that own it called RJ Clothing. They have their own people and factory so they do all of the alterations themselves and offer wonderful fabrics. I’m waiting for another suit from them so looking forward to that. But I’m thinking ahead and inspired by another wonderful video of yours to plan an actual full bespoke suit. Is there any chance you know a good bespoke tailor in Shanghai? I think you’ve been to Hong Kong but perhaps not Shanghai. Thanks again for a great video.
Dear Michael, actually I've been living in Shanghai back in the days (2004 and 2005 in Pu Xi, the old part of the town, close to the "concession française"). Unfortunately I don't know any tailor there who performs actual bespoke. But of you are happy with RJ, stay with them and maybe wait for some European or Neapolitan tailors to travel there for trunk shows. Cheers, Hugo
@@SARTORIALTALKS Wow. I’ve been here in Puxi since 2004. So we actually lived here at the same time. I had no idea you had lived here. You’ve certainly been around Hugo. And yes I think I may return to Europe in a few years time. My wife is Shanghainese but loves Europe and would love to live there. So I think I may wait til then to get a full bespoke. Thanks.
Thank you, yet again for another great video! Some great looking new names to check out. Although at this point I'm convinced that I could listen to you both talk about nearly anything.
That just added another two or three names to my list of houses to consider. Thanks (not on behalf of my wallet, I'm afraid)! On the topic of human contact in retail: When I met Nicolo Venturini from Gino Venturini shirtmakers in Vienna last year we had a 30+ minutes chat about fabrics, styles, construction, the city of Vienna etc. etc. - even though he knew that I was not going to commission a shirt. Bought a pocket square though, which is very dear to me because it reminds me of the viennese gentleman that is Nicolo Venturini. No online purchase can give you that! Cheers!
Hugo, I ordered Shoes! This means that I will have a 1st printing of all your books, and I am not a rich man. However, I am an enriched man, my friend. Thanks and cheers!
Dühnforth in Hamburg is a quality bespoke tailor in the German style. I've been watching his work for a while now. If your looking for someone specific, there's also the dieherrenschneider Instagram account, that's the bespoke tailor association.
You will love St.Petersburg folks especially the Amber Room at St.Catherines Palace .Also the Heritage museum is Amazing. Loved your suggestions on going to other countries to get suits instead of going to the usual places. Are you going to do a whisky collection.?You have done Champagne. Best wishes for Glasgow David...
If I may I will list some bespoke ateliers from the Balkans. Not many people talk about this region but there are some good tailors: SLOVENIA Morro Sartoriale, Ljubljana VB Fashion Moške obleke, Murske Toplice CROATIA Ivica Klarić Studio, Zagreb I Gere, Zagreb Perrin, Zagreb Kotka Krapina, Krapina Varteks, Varaždin (boutiques in many major cities in Croatia) Rosanna Odijela, Karlovac Moda Markulin, Split Martin Arbanas, Zagreb Gena, Trogir (bespoke traditional dalmatian suits) Rio, Rijeka Fidelio, Rijeka + Croata (silk neckties) SERBIA Valter, Belgrade Krojač Trajko, Belgrade Ranco, Belgrade + Maskot neckties, Belgrade BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA Jaćimović Janićija, Banja Luka Maestro Suits, Sarajevo + Strugar shoes, Zagreb and Belgrade Igor Suhenko shoes, Belgrade Lepen design (mens and womens bespoke shoes, the owner worked for Chanel and Armani), Zagreb I am sure that there are some that I missed and even some countries, but I couldn't realy find any tailors there.
@@panaceiasuberes6464 None haha. But I think that Ivica Klarić is the best. He is one of those young tailors creating everything from conservative navy suits to red linen jackets with striped trousers. Arbanas is great too, realy high end fabrics. Check them out online. Gena is great for tailcoats with a dalmatian twist. He made suits for Ecclestone, Placido Domingo, ex president Mesić, Goran Ivanisevic...
@@panaceiasuberes6464 Check them out for sure. Aldo, call or e mail them first of course if you want to set the date if you want a bespoke suit made. Cheers!
Thank you Krunoslav for the way you advocate for your region's tailors. We will dig this field too as soon as we'll be able to travel again. Hugo & Sonya
This is interesting . There is a bespoke tailor in Nimes France called NS concept . He is from Serbia and gets the clothes made there i think . It is a bit like an Eastern European Suit Supply model but is only a simple individual store and a online page . He does everyrhing from shorts and ties right up to black tie suits .
I am Polish and I have been intrigued by the services of Mr Tarasenko from Gdynia. After checking their website and prices, it seems a bespoke suit price starts from 1,500 EUR (probably for the least expensive fabric).
Hello Hugo , hope you are doing fine . What do you think about Roberto Mararo bespoke from Italy ? I love his silhouettes and especially his shirt designs .Cheers .
Mararo look great in his suits for sure. However, he's not a tailor and subcontract all his garments (which is not a crime by the way). But some designs are really good for sure. Hugo
Thank you Hugo and Sonya. this was really a great video, to discover new tailors around the world :) most of them were added to my IG feed :) Will definitely try to visit the ones near me (Prague). My eye and ears were most intrigued by the italians, as well as Maximilian Mucska and Detlev Diehm :)
I love both your suits: Sonya: love the colour of the suit, with the subtle check pattern and the tie is fab; Hugo, you've paired the jacket and tie well - some wouldn't have been confident and bold enough to pair! Thanks, merci Tony
Really love your what you are doing sir. Such in depth knowledge of sartorial tailoring is treasure for us. Do u find anyone from India who you think is a good enough bespoke tailor you have come across.
Thank you very much for an (again) informative video. I wonder if you might think about producing a video with special focus on classic women's tailoring wear. In so many cases there is just no opportunity to wear high quality clothes as a women unless you can effort a bespoke suit from the very beginning, made of one of the tailors, that offer suits also for women and are at the same time experienced enough to handle the differnt shapes of female bodies. That is also the reason why I startet to learn tailoring autodidactic, and of course there are limits. But not just in case of suits the options are limited. For example I really would love to wear a tie (I really like yours in this video Sonya, especially with this amazing collar) but therefore you need of course a shirt with a fitting collar and until now I were not able to find just one brand, wich offers such shirts for women (about the super low armholes I don't even want to talk). I even tried it with made to measure (unfortunately). Other examples are well fitting (high rise) high quality trousers and of course shoes (even if some of the mentioned brands in your videos about shoes produce models for women, there are just a few). I buy a lot second hand or vintage but I am not interested in imitating how people dressed in another century (or decade). So in short: If you Sonya would share some of your experience on this topic, I would watch every second of it.
Thank you, great episode It was great to hear that there are about some new tailors in paricular Enzo Carfora who is from my family's part of the world. I find it incredible the number of tailors in the Naples area. It was also great to hear that you can buy a avile Row suit from one of the greats at what looks like a very reasonable price for the quality and the origin. Thanks to you both I am looking to buy a pair of Antonio Meccariello shoes, they look fantastic and again not far from my family in Italy. In your up and coming programme on shoes may I ask if you have come across Paul Parkman shoes? Again thank you for a great show and delighted to be supporting you as a Patreon I hope many others do, we need class and style back in our lives which you do so well.
Many thanks Antonio for your meaningful and nice comment. Concerning PP we find the models (and mostly the patinas) a little bit "too much" for our taste. But it's only a matter on taste of course. Cheers, Hugo & Sonya
Another wonderful around the world tour! FYI there is an Enzo Custom in Philadelphia near Rittenhouse Square, if you’re familiar with Philly. Will give Christopher Korey in NY a try. Thank you!
Would be great if a list of all the Instagram accounts mentioned could be listed in the description box :D Me and my 5 thumbs had a little trouble finding them all :P
Yes Olivia, we'll do it (sometimes we have to many things going on that we can't manage the time to polish these kinds of important details). Cheers, Hugo
Christopher Korey inspired me a lot tbh more so than anybody else enough that I replicated some of his more unusual creations such as the athletic striped suit.
Love the discovery of Howards! Considering a trip from Bilbao to Paris due to the apparent quality of the garments and the price. They seem able to produce soft and unstructured MTM, which is what I am looking for. Speaking of Bilbao, I remember some years ago (2014, wow!) in your RTW review mentioned Lander Urquijo, who is available here too. Any opinions about it? Congratulations for the channel! It's getting better and better!
No experience with LU, Ander. I'm happy to see your response regarding Howards and hope you had the chance to follow up. Please say hello for me if you go to Howards in the future. Cheers, Hugo
I may be able to see them! My Hungarian wife is traveling now from Indiana to Vienna to Bratislava to visit with a seamstress business owning friend, then continuing to visit family near Budapest. I may be able to join the trip with her next year :-) (Note to self, Maximilian Mucska)
These microphones are Electrovoice RE20, a model invented in 1968 which still remains one of the gold standards in many Radio and TV stations. Cheers, Hugo
Wow, I really like Hugo's jacket in this episode! Where did you buy it? Is there a name for its pattern and colour? Absolutely stunned, might want to get something in that direction too when the lockdown is over! I haven't seen the video through yet, so I'm not sure whether you mention it. If you do, reply will be unnecessary!! Just had to ask directly, so fascinated, haha! Love the subject of todays talk, thank you and love from Switzerland!
Dear Jonathan, this bespoke sport jacket is made by NH Sartoria in Milan and the fabric is a winter wool by Drapers in Bologna (with a Glen Plaid pattern). Cheers, Hugo
Hello Hugo & Sonya, thank you for the great work you do, especially for people like me who don't know much about sartorial things, but want to learn! I wanted to ask, could you recommend some ateliers or any kind of sartorial related shops (suits, jackets, shirts, or shoes) in Romania? I would very much appreciate that. Thank you again!
Dear Hugo and Sonya, I'm a sartorial newbie in need of a little help. Could you guide me in the direction of good RTW (or MTM) shirts with long french style collars, like the ones Hugo often wears? I love the look and they seem impossible to find... I live in Berlin - would love to know about good places in Europe :) Thanks in any case, and thanks for all the great content!
You should definitely visit us in Chevy Chase near Washington DC next time you are in the area. We, at DePandi, are the best authentic bespoke tailor alla Napolitano in North East US. Looking forward to meeting you both.
Hugo and Sonya, I don't see any Instagram post from Christoper Korey saying he's moving to a new location. He is coming out soon with a casual collection called 55th St.
If I may recommend something to people near Germany and Austria: ANTON MEYER, in my opinion, does the best ready to wear suits for under 1000€. In fact, their suits cost around 500€, and they have phantastic classic style! You can get high waisted trousers with nice pleats and so on...
@@SARTORIALTALKS I thought that I would get a “ well as a matter of fact…….” from you as I am an occasional listener of chamber music and thought I may have heard you there before (in the deep past). Anyways, what you do with nice pieces in your videos does fine all the same .
Beautiful jacket Hugo and Sonya is always stylish too. In my opinion Sonya looks better with a scarf rather than a tie! A tie is way too masculine whereas she excels in scarf selection.
Just watched your latest video on suits really enjoyed it. I bought my second double breasted suit due to you and I think I'm hooked. Like to say Sonya's Old Bertie knot out did your's.You taught her well.

Cheers!
We agree with you of course. Have a nice weekend. Hugo & Sonya
Hugo, I ordered Shoes! This means that I will have a 1st printing of all your books, and I am not a rich man. However, I am an enriched man, my friend. Thanks and cheers!
Thank you so much dear friend. Hugo & Sonya
14:14 Hugo, do you have any instagram pages of tailors you can recommend where I can view some of this more traditional German tailoring?
Thank you
Dühnforth in Hamburg is a quality bespoke tailor in the German style. I've been watching his work for a while now.
If your looking for someone specific, there's also the dieherrenschneider Instagram account, that's the bespoke tailor association.
David Thomson Thank you, I will look those up.
Dear Jim, I think the best resource for that is Bernhard Roetzel Instagram and blog (in German). Cheers, Hugo
SARTORIAL TALKS Thank you Hugo. I will look those up.
I love the chemistry between you and your wife. Well gone to you both.
Thank you Gary! Hugo & Sonya
Great video, what’s the name of that German tailoring house?
Detlev Georg Diehm in Munich. Hugo & Sonya
You both look fantastic in this video...!!
Thank you my friend! God bless, Hugo & Sonya
@@SARTORIALTALKS Thank you so much...God bless you both...!!
Will be patiently waiting for you two to visit Indonesia, lots of great tailors and ateliers here!
We would love to for sure! And we hope we'll be able to travel again in 2021. Take care Rio, Hugo & Sonya
Love the content. Greetings from Greece.
Many thanks. Greetings from France! Hugo & Sonya
You will love St.Petersburg folks especially the Amber Room at St.Catherines Palace .Also the Heritage museum is Amazing.
Loved your suggestions on going to other countries to get suits instead of going to the usual places.
Are you going to do a whisky collection.?You have done Champagne.
Best wishes for Glasgow
David...
Dear David, yes we may do an episode dedicated to Whisky (with a guest) sooner than later. Hugo & Sonya

I am sure that there are some that I missed and even some countries, but I couldn't realy find any tailors there.
Krunoslav Kovacec Thank you so much, I am from Balkans myself and we always have trouble finding right tailor, I am going to check them all out. Hvala
What are the sartorial thoughts and opinions in regards to hats?
Hats are great ! Hugo
I am Polish and I have been intrigued by the services of Mr Tarasenko from Gdynia.
After checking their website and prices, it seems a bespoke suit price starts from 1,500 EUR (probably for the least expensive fabric).
Dear Rafal, real bespoke at that price is a steal for sure. Best, Hugo & Sonya
Hugo
Thank you Hugo and Sonya. this was really a great video, to discover new tailors around the world :)
most of them were added to my IG feed :)
Will definitely try to visit the ones near me (Prague).
My eye and ears were most intrigued by the italians, as well as Maximilian Mucska and Detlev Diehm :)
Thank you and you are welcome to our atelier any time you are in Central Europe, espacially in Bratislava:)
Thank you my friend. Mucska and Diehm are great tailors indeed. Hugo
I love both your suits: Sonya: love the colour of the suit, with the subtle check pattern and the tie is fab; Hugo, you've paired the jacket and tie well - some wouldn't have been confident and bold enough to pair!
Thanks, merci
Tony
Dear Tony, I think I've reached the sufficient level in my sartorial journey to start to try bolder pairing! Best, Hugo
Thanks for such a great Video and the Recommendations. I would be interested in you Opinion on the Alexander Kraft RTW Collection ?
Many thanks Pierre. I have no opinion on Alexander's collection as I did not try it. Hugo
Really love your what you are doing sir. Such in depth knowledge of sartorial tailoring is treasure for us. Do u find anyone from India who you think is a good enough bespoke tailor you have come across.
Really need a “Boom” extension, if being on TV will be normal. It gets the microphones off the desk & mics can be better/easily adjusted.
We are taking the comments (including yours) and are still learning the next steps. Thank you! ~Sonya & Hugo
Thank you!
Say hello to Christopher for me then. Hugo
Cheers, Hugo
lovely video as always Hugo and great sound!!
What do you think about the house style of Valentino and Nicola Ricci of Sciamat Milano ?
Dear Nikitas, we like the Ricci's style (if you are able to pull it off). Cheers, Hugo
@@SARTORIALTALKS it's quite flamboyant indeed!! One of my favourites!!
I may be able to join the trip with her next year :-)
(Note to self, Maximilian Mucska)
what mics are they?
These microphones are Electrovoice RE20, a model invented in 1968 which still remains one of the gold standards in many Radio and TV stations. Cheers, Hugo
SARTORIAL TALKS thanks so much, really enjoying ur podcast
La Sartoria in Saratoga Springs NY is a hidden gem 👌🏼
Thanks Joey for the information. Hugo & Sonya
There was a Scottish bespoke tailor in Oklahoma City. Ellis of Edinburgh. I believe the shop is now operated by a former apprentice of his.
Thanks for the information Roger! Hugo & Sonya
Thank you hundredfold for covering for your slavic audience also.
Sonya please, can you tell me what fabric that is you used for your jacket?
It was written above in one of the comment answers I think.
@@martina8241 I see where someone mentioned the tailor, but not the fabric. Where did you see them discuss fabric
Time 22:10. Sonya, your new three-piece suit from Mr. Oleg Khokhlov is very beautiful, suits you well.
“Suits you well”.
Pun intended? 😉
@@YacDiesel HA true ~S
Thank you and I know the maestro also will enjoy reading this. Cheers, ~Sonya
@@YacDiesel No it was a coincidence , it was translated like this haha.
RMRS and gentleman gazette said a lot about the name of patterns. The problem is, I couldn’t remember any of them
Dear Jonathan, this bespoke sport jacket is made by NH Sartoria in Milan and the fabric is a winter wool by Drapers in Bologna (with a Glen Plaid pattern). Cheers, Hugo
@@SARTORIALTALKS Thank you so much!
Dear Cirprian, we visited Zenonni in Bucarest and they were very nice (and competent). Cheers, Hugo & Sonya
You might at some point check out Bespoke Athens (made to measure and bespoke).
Dear John, we know Vassili (the owner of Bespoke Athens) quite well and he's doing a great job indeed. Hugo & Sonya
Hello! Hmm, try looking up maximilian.mogg on Instagram, and send him a DM with your question (regarding convenient German options). Cheers ! ~Sonya
Any tailors in Ireland you would recommend? ;)
I found out something that made me smile today. Hugo is less than 1 year older than I am. Boomers rule. Good job on the talk.
Thanks Sam! We are forever young, sartorially speaking. Hugo
@@SARTORIALTALKS I then will look to you and Sonya for guidance.
You should definitely visit us in Chevy Chase near Washington DC next time you are in the area. We, at DePandi, are the best authentic bespoke tailor alla Napolitano in North East US. Looking forward to meeting you both.
Let's plan this when we'll be able to travel again! Hugo & Sonya
What about Husbands as a RTW option?
Husbands is doing and excellent job indeed. Hugo
Hugo and Sonya, I don't see any Instagram post from Christoper Korey saying he's moving to a new location. He is coming out soon with a casual collection called 55th St.
Dear Rafael, I saw a video story on Instagram of the new premises. But maybe the moving has been delayed because of the Covid crisis. Cheers, Hugo
Have you stopped uploading these to iTunes? Thanks
No, we just group the episodes by seasons. Next season will start next week. Cheers, Hugo & Sonya
If I may recommend something to people near Germany and Austria: ANTON MEYER, in my opinion, does the best ready to wear suits for under 1000€. In fact, their suits cost around 500€, and they have phantastic classic style! You can get high waisted trousers with nice pleats and so on...
They have perfect voices for radio aswell , they need a music segment on bbc introducing symphonic sounds from the Silk Road
You are very kind and that would be incredible. Hugo & Sonya
@@SARTORIALTALKS I thought that I would get a “ well as a matter of fact…….” from you as I am an occasional listener of chamber music and thought I may have heard you there before (in the deep past). Anyways, what you do with nice pieces in your videos does fine all the same .
Sonya at 2:15: "You're dead." lol
Haha, yes she killed me! I love her so much. Hugo
mic sounds very nice
Great to know, thanks. ~Sonya & Hugo
Beautiful jacket Hugo and Sonya is always stylish too. In my opinion Sonya looks better with a scarf rather than a tie! A tie is way too masculine whereas she excels in scarf selection.
I must agree she's the scarf goddess! Hugo
Just watched your latest video on suits really enjoyed it. I bought my second double breasted suit due to you and I think I'm hooked. Like to say Sonya's Old Bertie knot out did your's.You taught her well.
Congratulations Paul for your DB's. And yes Sonya is always better than me in any situation. She's the sartorial queen. Hugo
