Not gonna lie, Franzese is like Mr. GQ. Classic style
True. Michael dresses well - more so than in his younger days. Back then, he went in for the white jacket and open-mouth gum chewing look. Now he's more sophisticated.
He kinda looks like Liam Nelson lol
True. I like Micheal but he probably was a ruthless mafiosa. I mean scarying people shitless, threating them, and probably beat up some people. I dont think you can make capo without being like that person.
He's got Style
Yeah Michael had that fashionable 80's look with the white suits and all very good style
Michael has always been a stylish dresser, even in the old videos where he’s wearing tracksuits.
"the don never wears shorts"
The mafia made tailor-made suits famous 👌
I must say Mr Franzese in his white suit and red shirt are pretty stylish.
John Gotti was definitely the best dressed and Joey Zasa’s wardrobe in Godfather III was based off Gotti’s, even with the moniker of Esquire’s Best Dressed Gangster!😎
Lucky Luciano was the epitome of mob boss chic. His style is still unmatched. Every photo he's in looks like a GQ shoot.
Rothstein is the one who taught him style
Facts
The mobsters in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn in the 90s were always impeccably dressed
@@Robconnors7253 Very true
30’s-60’s was the golden era
Like to see a whole museum full of clothing from the Mafia era
very stylish and neat but yes ending is always messy death and jail
Michaels content never disappoints me in the slightest 💯
@@michaelfranzese michael some mob well dress some pop your now
Story i mean fop
Lol wtf is "fop" ?? ..🤨..🤔..🤷🏻♂️..
@@decal1751 fop meaning a person who is overly concerned with trivial matters (especially matters of fashion) and who affects elite social standing
That part about the daily barber routine is a prime example. Yes, the details are important.
I liked "Chin" Gigante's bathrobe and slippers the best 😆
Lucky Luciano is my favorite ,such a cool guy...always love stories about him
I don't know what it is but I have always found Italian men to be classy dressers.for example you are sat at home dressed simply yet you still look classy.thank you for the video. positivity peace and love 💛
Agreed. You had your suits, then you got them tailored and finished off with the accessories. It certainly is an art form.
Mr. Franzese, I'm currently going through a REALLY hard time and to be honest am feeling ready to throw in the towel and take my life as I'm extremely overwhelmed and just can't seem to shake the day to day stresses. I've tried and tried to shake it off and push through but I do not see any point anymore, can I get a prayer from you? You've been my only inspiration and have provided me with a ton of guidance and hope that noone else has, as weird as that may sound as I don't know you personally but I'm just so done with life. Thanks for all you do and your time you give for all of us and my respect for you will not change if you don't end up seeing my comment but coming from you would mean a lot. I need prayer badly at this time. I'm just so lost and do not see any hope anymore, I just don't know what to do I have no family or friends as I'm a single child, both parents have passed and have no friends. I'm sorry for the pitty party but I'm just so lost.
@@michaelfranzese Mr. Franzese, first of all thank you for your response as I know you deal with hundreds of thousands/millions of fans and people so I'm not looking to stand out as special but I'm not kidding when I say you are really the only positive influence I have at this time in my life, if you could help me by letting me know your email I would very much appreciate an opportunity to message you, it means the world to hear you offer that. It really does, I am christian and I do know that it goes against our beliefs but I'm literally at my breaking point and that thought has brought comfort which is scaring me. Please and thank you
Never heard of Michael Franzese until I inadvertently stumbled across a video on Facebook of him being interview. I am of Italian descent. One set of grandparents were born in a small town called Montecarlo, Italy, which is in the Tuscany Region and providence of Lucca in central/northern Italy. My other set of grandparents were born in Caccamo, Sicily, which is part of Palermo, Sicily. I love my Italian heritage and have been to Italy many times. With that said, the one thing that scares me to death about Italians is the Mafia. So much violence and usually it seems no one makes it out alive. I am so happy to see that Mr. Franzese has made it out alive and that he has changed his life. I will subscribe to his channel and start following him.
Michael always dressed to the nines. You had a nice looking crew.
@@michaelfranzese you're welcome.
Every girl's crazy about a sharp dressed man 😉💋 Nice to have a lighthearted video today- God bless you and yours, love your stuff Big Guy 👍🇺🇸❤
I think reading about the mob while in jr high school and senior high school got me into fashion. Now I am really into 3 piece suits. Hope you have a great week Michael and thanks for the tape.
Three piece suits are classy!
Remember leisure suits?
I'm over the mob... Talks 24/7 about the mob and benefits on it 😂
@@maureenlegault3835 Please do not remind me!!!
Refreshing to hear about men’s dress/fashion etc. It makes a change from the usual wall to wall women’s fashion stuff!
I recommended that he should make a mafia fashion video and I’m so pumped he did! It was so exciting to see after work. He’s the man
Nothing compares to a sharp dressed man. The Mob knew how to dress with class.
People in suits always meant business right?
On the flip side, I remember a line in “Goodfellas, “ when the crew were being rounded up one by one, and one of the cops quipped, “I see your tailor has a great sense of humour.”
I still laugh at that line.
My Grampa wouldn't go over the door unless he was clean shaved and dressed smart, not even to take the bins out, i once asked him "what happens if your shoes get dirty when you're out and about papa?" He said "it doesn't matter, as long as they were polished when I left the house" 👍
The best dressed were Sonny Black and Lefty Ruggiero in Donnie Brasco 😂😂😂
“You should get him a tailor while you’re at it”
Loved this video. As they say, "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man". Back in the '80s I dated a fellow that always wore a fedora. Very good look on a man.
Michael... whether the Sweat Suits that made a 'swish swish swish' sound as you walked, or the Power Suits...You wore it well. Smart to Dress Down & blend in from time to time. ✌️
I enjoyed this sit down about the way the Mob dressed back in the day 👍
Joe Lombardo in Chicago was a sharp dresser when the ocassion called for it
I agree. He is my favorite Chicago Mobster of all time. His nickname, his personality, dress style, and he died in prison, never ever talked. Him & Accardo are my favorite.
"What happened to the strong silent types like Gary Cooper? Those guys didnt piss or moan and just got on with it.They dressed immaculately and people knew they meant business"
- Tony Soprano -
Says the biggest moaner in the bedroom
I always thought Salvatore Testa was a fly dude
Tony ‘Jack’ Giacolone dressed the part💯
I love suits!! I wore suits to school in 8th grade
Thank you for doing this video Michael, I have been requesting it! Trust me it will do numbers!!!
Gotti's suits were beautiful... and they made him look less fat. Kudos to his tailor! Michael... you look good all the time, too!
Primo Sindone was the best (Analyze This movie).
There are many that wear perfect back in those days!
You definitely deserve a place on this list Micheal. You’re style has always been pure class
Ive seen pictures of alot of mob guys wearing their gym clothes, sweat pants and matching top. Looking like they never been to a gym. But, yes, others were sharped dress men. --- your friend ZZ Top.
History becomes Legend Legend becomes myth things that are forgotten should never be
Hi Michael! I hope that all is well. I’ll share this video with my brother. He refuses to listen to me when it comes to his wardrobe 🙄Style is important to one’s brand. Thanks!
i love your high quality videos, keep it up!
Excited for this one. It really varied from person to person I've noticed.
@@michaelfranzese yes i did, great video Michael!
Have your videos been getting less views lately? I'm bummed about that, your channel is one of the best and you're one of the most interesting and eloquent personalities on RUclips - probably even in general. It's incredible that I, a guy from Austria, can listen to a man who experienced all that. Amazing. Keep up the great content and don't let the RUclips algorithm get you down! Have a great day! God bless you and your family!
He has an incredible fan base , who knows with the views
Great episode. Keep up the good work Michael.
After watching many mafia movies I really started to appreciate their style! Now I'm only going out with suits or at least a dress shirt even if I'm going to the groceries lol
Respect same here. Seeing grown ass men in gym shorts and graphic t shirts in public is just pathetic honestly.
@SnoopEastwood what if they just came from the gym?
Once again great content. I love your channel
I’m a little surprised Arnold Rothstein wasn’t on this list considering how much of an influence he had on Lucky Luciano.
Rothstein actually owned swampland in my old neighborhood in Queens. The houses were empty shells, but the park they built on that land is great.
I completely agree!
ikr, I was hoping there, Arnold Rothstein.
Love the content Michael! Good stuff.
Always fascinating topics Michael. 😊
I agree with you, Michael. Capone should have been higher on the list. Honorable mention: 1) Frankie Yale of Brooklyn. "The Beau Brummel of the underworld." 2) Legs Diamond. He made the chalk stripe suit popular for Prohibition gangsters.
Great show Michael, you got a lot of style. Love the work you put in. Best to you & yours !!
Track suits!
Cooking with Michael soon?
"Clothes make the man" Michael.
Appreciate you Michael. God Bless
Love your work Mike great stuff, God bless you my friend.
Joe Colombo kept it GQ
My dad was a ww2 vet and a very sharp dresser!
Great video!
Starting to buy more suits now that I'm older and can afford the good stuff.
My favorite era is the late 50's to the mid 60's. My favorite casual dress is a vertical panel knit polo, slacks and loafers. Top it off with a watch, wedding ring, pinkie ring, bracelet and chain/pendant.
Really liking the suit/polo shirt combo, like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas during the Airport scene where he's leaning against the '65 Impala with Joe Pesci. Just bought myself a suit and polo as close as I could find in those colors.
Great video! For the record, you always look great, as well, Mr. Franzese. Thank you for the content!
Another great video Mr. Franzese. I was a 1970's and 80's kid. Back then even the kids had a suit. I had at least two. I went to church too. Good topic. I think Joey Adonis real name was Joeseph Doto. Got that from a Bugsy Siegel book. I like the fedora look too that my grandfather did because he was an adult in the 1930's and 50's.Thanks for the upload.
Love the fedora era 🔥🔥🔥
Love your channel Michael..! God Bless…
So many OC guys during the 1970’s to 90’s in NYC wore synthetic sports jogging suits, with t shirts and gold neck chains. I was a cop then and it seemed to be the ‘Uniform of the Day’ for many, and it became a fashion for many Italian American civilians in NYC.
Most of them probably wanted to be buried in their jogging suits.
Not for nothing Michael you did say nobody ever called you the "Yuppie Don", and that the press made that up ...
Great, love the lifestyle episodes, the last food episode was very entertaining as well. Thanks
Next one should be the slang the mobsters use. Forget about it.
Another great video!
To be honest, I love how honest & humble you are but you were wanna of the best dressers par none…you did it the right way
You were up there with the best Michael!
I agree with you Sir. I believe you are on point when it comes who the best dress where. great video sir. and keep making your videos. we all appreciate your hard work and dedication you put in making your videos and on your channel. much respect.
You're a very respectful guy to give mention to your former crew and bosses. Joe Adonis was in Bugsy too, though they said they didn't like each other very much.
Very Enjoyable ☺️Thank-you 🥂
Great Video!!!
What would we do without these very well dressed men? We have interesting books and movies and all the great stories. Never a dull moment.
Thank you Michael. You have a great channel. God Bless.
hey Michael these videos are awesome keep them up
Much love to you Michael as always! I'm so grateful to you and your crew for your love and support!!!
Deg agree- there is an image most have of "mobster" and it's usually well dressed. Good video - thank you
I make sure to wear a suit every day I love it when people dress up and make themselves presentable. Wishing good health to you Mr. Franzese!
You should check out British gangster film 'rise of the foot soldier'. True story about the range rover murders in Essex.

The mobsters influence over fashion is seen In boardwalk empire, sopranos, the untouchables and Goodfellas. There are other movies and tv shows that was influenced fashion yet it is a longer list. Thanks for sharing video. I enjoy your content.
Costello was a classic, conservative dresser - which I like a lot. Nothing wrong with a dark suit.
Great video on mob fashion.
@@michaelfranzese your welcome you really lived that life and we all thank you for sharing your experiences with us in these videos.
Something about being from the street that enhances your fashion sense
Thanks Michael
Always Enjoy Your Videos !!
Love a man in a suit.great video mr franzese.xx
According to Michael DiLeonardo, It was JOE WATTS that was by far the Sharpest Dresser and taught John Gotti how to dress ? MICHAEL CONGRATS ON YOUR MILLION SUBSCRIBERS, YOU DESERVE ALL OF US❗️YOUR THE KING 👑 OF THIS GENRE AND DESERVE ALL YOUR SUCCESS ,GOD BLESS 🙏 AND HAPPY EASTER COMING UP !
Great video buddy, thank you
This Is Cool 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 I Love the 1932 Scarface Movie with Paul Muni 👏👏👏👏👏 How he dressed & how the Women dressed OMG WOW!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
No suit is complete without a hat IMO so Im partial to the times when mafiosos wore them.Great video Michael
Excellent presentation!
People need to start wearing suits more, this whole dad-bod shirt and shorts get up nowadays is an embarrassment to western civilization 😂
Enjoy the videos Micheal, always noticed when not dressing up, a few loved a tracksuit 70s style
You're 💯 percent correct on the fashion parade...
Great video Michael, I was wondering if you were ever going to do a video on Greg scarpa’s crazy life, his life is basically a pre-written script for a Hollywood blockbuster film, it would be great if you shed light on things that we may not know about him along with the well known facts of him
Michael, yourself had an amazing style. Very classic!
Nice list!!
Spot on.
Thank you for your Work. I learned a lot about the Cosa Nostra... I Wish you all the best ... Stay safe ... a fallower from Vienna Austria
@@michaelfranzese ♥️
Michael. I'm 100% with you on the Fedora. I love the old pics of cities or towns and all the men have some version of a Fedora. Three-piece suits to overalls, they always had a hat on.
You know the old saying "if you want to get a-head get a hat" 😉
Well, Michael I think you should've been in the list, your intro with the sunglasses is sharp you got the style. By the way I love Italian clothes, food, women, even my first car that I've got recently is Italian hahah!
Interesting subject.I enjoyed this video. I am a small hat collector I love the fedora it's got style all its own
My grandfather always wore a fedora and it was easy to recognize him in old pictures because of that! I always thought it was a stoic look!
