True. Michael dresses well - more so than in his younger days. Back then, he went in for the white jacket and open-mouth gum chewing look. Now he's more sophisticated.
True. I like Micheal but he probably was a ruthless mafiosa. I mean scarying people shitless, threating them, and probably beat up some people. I dont think you can make capo without being like that person.
I think reading about the mob while in jr high school and senior high school got me into fashion. Now I am really into 3 piece suits. Hope you have a great week Michael and thanks for the tape.
I don't know what it is but I have always found Italian men to be classy dressers.for example you are sat at home dressed simply yet you still look classy.thank you for the video. positivity peace and love 💛
Mr. Franzese, I'm currently going through a REALLY hard time and to be honest am feeling ready to throw in the towel and take my life as I'm extremely overwhelmed and just can't seem to shake the day to day stresses. I've tried and tried to shake it off and push through but I do not see any point anymore, can I get a prayer from you? You've been my only inspiration and have provided me with a ton of guidance and hope that noone else has, as weird as that may sound as I don't know you personally but I'm just so done with life. Thanks for all you do and your time you give for all of us and my respect for you will not change if you don't end up seeing my comment but coming from you would mean a lot. I need prayer badly at this time. I'm just so lost and do not see any hope anymore, I just don't know what to do I have no family or friends as I'm a single child, both parents have passed and have no friends. I'm sorry for the pitty party but I'm just so lost.
@@michaelfranzese Mr. Franzese, first of all thank you for your response as I know you deal with hundreds of thousands/millions of fans and people so I'm not looking to stand out as special but I'm not kidding when I say you are really the only positive influence I have at this time in my life, if you could help me by letting me know your email I would very much appreciate an opportunity to message you, it means the world to hear you offer that. It really does, I am christian and I do know that it goes against our beliefs but I'm literally at my breaking point and that thought has brought comfort which is scaring me. Please and thank you
Never heard of Michael Franzese until I inadvertently stumbled across a video on Facebook of him being interview. I am of Italian descent. One set of grandparents were born in a small town called Montecarlo, Italy, which is in the Tuscany Region and providence of Lucca in central/northern Italy. My other set of grandparents were born in Caccamo, Sicily, which is part of Palermo, Sicily. I love my Italian heritage and have been to Italy many times. With that said, the one thing that scares me to death about Italians is the Mafia. So much violence and usually it seems no one makes it out alive. I am so happy to see that Mr. Franzese has made it out alive and that he has changed his life. I will subscribe to his channel and start following him.
John Gotti was definitely the best dressed and Joey Zasa’s wardrobe in Godfather III was based off Gotti’s, even with the moniker of Esquire’s Best Dressed Gangster!😎
Michael... whether the Sweat Suits that made a 'swish swish swish' sound as you walked, or the Power Suits...You wore it well. Smart to Dress Down & blend in from time to time. ✌️
My Grampa wouldn't go over the door unless he was clean shaved and dressed smart, not even to take the bins out, i once asked him "what happens if your shoes get dirty when you're out and about papa?" He said "it doesn't matter, as long as they were polished when I left the house" 👍
Have your videos been getting less views lately? I'm bummed about that, your channel is one of the best and you're one of the most interesting and eloquent personalities on RUclips - probably even in general. It's incredible that I, a guy from Austria, can listen to a man who experienced all that. Amazing. Keep up the great content and don't let the RUclips algorithm get you down! Have a great day! God bless you and your family!
On the flip side, I remember a line in “Goodfellas, “ when the crew were being rounded up one by one, and one of the cops quipped, “I see your tailor has a great sense of humour.” I still laugh at that line.
I agree. He is my favorite Chicago Mobster of all time. His nickname, his personality, dress style, and he died in prison, never ever talked. Him & Accardo are my favorite.
Hi Michael! I hope that all is well. I’ll share this video with my brother. He refuses to listen to me when it comes to his wardrobe 🙄Style is important to one’s brand. Thanks!
Loved this video. As they say, "Every girl's crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man". Back in the '80s I dated a fellow that always wore a fedora. Very good look on a man.
After watching many mafia movies I really started to appreciate their style! Now I'm only going out with suits or at least a dress shirt even if I'm going to the groceries lol
Another great video Mr. Franzese. I was a 1970's and 80's kid. Back then even the kids had a suit. I had at least two. I went to church too. Good topic. I think Joey Adonis real name was Joeseph Doto. Got that from a Bugsy Siegel book. I like the fedora look too that my grandfather did because he was an adult in the 1930's and 50's.Thanks for the upload.
You're a very respectful guy to give mention to your former crew and bosses. Joe Adonis was in Bugsy too, though they said they didn't like each other very much.
I agree with you, Michael. Capone should have been higher on the list. Honorable mention: 1) Frankie Yale of Brooklyn. "The Beau Brummel of the underworld." 2) Legs Diamond. He made the chalk stripe suit popular for Prohibition gangsters.
As someone who works in Fashion and is a big fan of the Mafia History, this is an amazing Video. my two favourite Mafioso are Costello and Luciano. Personality and Style wise!
Great video! Starting to buy more suits now that I'm older and can afford the good stuff. My favorite era is the late 50's to the mid 60's. My favorite casual dress is a vertical panel knit polo, slacks and loafers. Top it off with a watch, wedding ring, pinkie ring, bracelet and chain/pendant. Really liking the suit/polo shirt combo, like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas during the Airport scene where he's leaning against the '65 Impala with Joe Pesci. Just bought myself a suit and polo as close as I could find in those colors.
Michael. I'm 100% with you on the Fedora. I love the old pics of cities or towns and all the men have some version of a Fedora. Three-piece suits to overalls, they always had a hat on.
So many OC guys during the 1970’s to 90’s in NYC wore synthetic sports jogging suits, with t shirts and gold neck chains. I was a cop then and it seemed to be the ‘Uniform of the Day’ for many, and it became a fashion for many Italian American civilians in NYC.

I’m a little surprised Arnold Rothstein wasn’t on this list considering how much of an influence he had on Lucky Luciano. Rothstein actually owned swampland in my old neighborhood in Queens. The houses were empty shells, but the park they built on that land is great.

Excellent video as always Mike. John T. Scalish who was the boss in Cleveland Ohio for 34 years, until his death in 1976, was another mafia boss that was always very well dressed, and classy. You don't hear much about him, the guy did not like publicity. Very similar too Tony Accardo in many ways.
Michael has always been a stylish dresser, even in the old videos where he’s wearing tracksuits.
Not gonna lie, Franzese is like Mr. GQ. Classic style
