I haven’t gotten past your intro before I had to comment. You summed it up in a few sentences. You are 100% correct. I have always been asked why am I attracted to the bad boy persona. I don’t think I’m exactly attracted to the bad boy persona. I think it’s more of being attracted to a confident man. One who comes off strong and sure of himself. We do want to feel safe, protected by a man who we can look to to be strong. Basically I want a man who can be my rock. One who is intelligent, honorable, and one who not just demands respect, but deserves it. Nothing is more unappealing to me than a weak, wishy-washy, follow the Leader type. I want the leader. That’s it… so yeah, I can see why women are attracted to mafia men. There is something sexy about a sharply dressed, Italian made man. 😉

Oh, that's funny, I was just thinking about exactly that subject and that it would be interesting project for Michael Franzese to speak about what kind of women make it with a men like himself and what that kind of men expect from their women to be like - and here it is, 30 minutes later, new episode on the similar subject!:)
Thoughts are a really powerful thing!
I was growing up in '90ies, it was Perestroika time in ex-Soviet Union countries and a lot of unlimited crime.
I was a beautiful girl and spent my youth dating "gangsters" (we called them 'bandits' in Russian over here). Expensive fast cars, no limits in everything... Back then I've also got my love for shooting ranges, was pretty good at that, did a lot of shooting when I lived in Florida later in life.
Since then I've changed a lot, I do art and I do not cross with that sort of people anymore, but it's still my type, can't help it and I've also absorbed a lot from them, so that spirit became a part of my personality. Seems they read in it my face somehow, when I see those people somewhere, it's like we recognize each other and both know who we are, one quick look in the eyes is enough.
Unfortunately (or fortunately) I never could make it to be with a man like that longterm coz I've got a really strong character, can't stay under someone's control and it seemed that sort of men had to be in control of everything and everyone, including their woman, plus there was always manipulation. So, that's still a dellema sometimes, because, despite all the wisdom I've gained over life, all the experience and all my deep psychology knowledge - I'm still deeply attracted to men with a criminal background because I've never felt more feminine, more understood, more close to each other, more same-spirited and of course more protected in all means, than with that kind of men. It just felt like we are same-minded and have the same blood. God knows better, maybe there is someone out there, who will be just the right one for me one day. For now creating art is a priority in life.
Thank you, Mr.Franzese, I absolutely love your channel, many things reminding me of my youth!:)

How much more interesting to read this article with someone who knows the 'mobsters' being written about and who can add additional personal knowledge to the story! What about your movie? I haven't heard you mention it anymore. How is coming along?

  • @richardredick7515
    @richardredick7515 Год назад +1

Mr. Franzese: I have a question about the obligations assumed when becoming a Made Man. I understand you can't sleep with a Made Man's mother, sister, wife, or daughter. That is pretty straight-forward. My question is regarding mob girlfriends. In listening to many anecdotal stories, it becomes obvious to me that girlfriends get recycled. Virginia Hill comes to mind. One man's trash is truly another man's treasure.
I expect that if "Connie" was with "Brian" 2 years ago, it's fine if "Vinnie" takes up with her today. But, what about much narrower time frames. What if the break-up happened 3 months ago? Is Vinnie fine to pursue Connie? What if there has not been an official break-up, but things are distant between Connie and Brian? In that instance, should Vinnie choose not to pursue Connie? The Oath says nothing, specifically, regarding girlfriends, but you have to "live together" with your fellow mobsters; hopefully in peace.
So, clue me in on how the dust usually settles on this particular matter. Thanks.

Hey michael!.. Hope you are doing OK and the family. I remember you saying that you had basically "control" in long island. New York. You were made in 75? Now this happened the year before November 74 if I'm right... But is there any truth that you know off to the rumours of the mob being involved in the "defeo murders" in amityville? I know there was mob ties in the family on the mom's side Louise defeo?her father being michael brigante... Just an interesting subject is all...

Mr. Franzese excellent excellent show. My sister and brother-in-law were born completely deaf. It would be great if you could "close caption" your broadcasts. Keep your podcasts coming.

Hello Mr Franzese great video as usual. I think with the movies like ''Goodfellas'' but particularly the tv shows like the ''Sopranos'', they showed that mobsters wives and girl friends did not go round with machine guns and wear hats like Faye Dunaway in ''Bonnie and Clyde''.

You definitely like the same music I do. My grandfather brought me up on Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, and all the classics. You can’t beat it!

Hey Michael, I respect you a great deal and im a younger guy really trying to make it in my industry. I would much rather be loved then feared and I am a nice, hard working guy. But how can I establish myself as a person that commands respect, without becoming a monster? Thanks and much love.

You have to have a balance...it just depends where to use certain tactics..find out what circumstances require for you to be loved and where it requires you to be feared..can always capitalize on both

My aunt was married to an enforcer named Isadore Goldberg. Jewish under gang to Capone, but left to go on his own. Killed by Jack McGurn. My aunt told me some crazy stories about Chicago in the 20s.
