Everyone wanted to buy Michael Franzese's gas because it was cheaper. It wasn't stolen gas, but gas that he never paid taxes on, because NY allowed you to pay the tax on the honor system(By the time they figured out taxes were owed, that company was out of business and Michael was nowhere on the paperwork. He was wholesaling all over the Northeast. When he retailed it, he collected the tax and kept it. Brilliant. He made tens of millions of dollars a month. He made so much money, but the Feds were all over him and locked him in the hole for other things. They were going to make an example of him, but he had never done anything too bad and they couldn't get him on the gas tax scam, but they knew about it.
I worked at my great uncle's gas station in Highland, NY in the summer as a kid. I remember meeting a Sicilian girl and her father delivered gas for Mobile. She was a sweetheart but had to break it off because her ex bf and she made up. I didn't realize why her father came by with his wife and daughter to smooth things out. My Uncle told me his gas was delivered in the middle of the night at a much cheaper price. He loaned money but was low profile. He got his gas from Michael and that crew.
It Wasn't micheal gas He was partner with the russians And we dont know how big his share was in that scheme Theres alot things when it comes to micheal franzes And lies are a big part of it
Only reason he got caught was because his partner snitched. The FBI knew what he was doing, but had no idea how he was doing it. His partner getting arrested was shady, there was no extradition in Panama at the time and his partner was wanted for his own personal tax issues, so he fled there. So the feds ended up sneaking down there and kid napping him and brought him back to the us. Don’t think that’s 100% legal but the government is gonna government.
MF went to prison for the gas tax scam. He plead guilty, sentenced to prison, and was ordered to pay millions in restitution. So I am not sure how you can say "they could never get him on it".

The gasoline wasn't stolen. Long story short, he bought the gasoline legally but didn't pay the state tax. He was pocketing the tax per gallon. He would open a new corporation and use it to buy the gas, then after a short period of time he would stop using that corporation and start using another to purchase the gasoline. He used so many shell companies the authorities just couldn't keep up. He said he knew eventually they would catch him.

Franzese did NOT steal the gas. He got the gas from the same sources every other gas station owner gets it from. But he just kept the taxes. I mean there is a certain amount of tax on every galone of gas which the customers pay of course and as a gas station owner you kinda have to forward this tax to the government but Franzese just didn't and kept it instead. He could do it for about a year before the government came down on this particular gas station and if they did he filed bankruptcy with this gas station and opens a new one a week later. So imagine that ... people are filling their cars with gas at your gas station and you just keep the taxes that are attached to every galon of gas. Now you're doing it with literally hundreds of gas stations for about a year until the government wants the taxes. You close the station then and just open a new one over and over again. So you don't have to steal the gas because you're making millions with the kept taxes. Therefore you can offer cheaper prices of course which is why everyone buys his gas from one of your gas stations. This is how it worked.
@@ereckit1972No this is not correct. This dude basically just wrote an entire book about the gas tax scam and has no clue what he is talking about. The gas thing involved n exemption for the Russian connect to transport it from his company to another company which would in reality transport it to the stations for retail sale. I knew some guys partying with it, but not doing what the Gambinos, Bonnanos, in NY, Vito Rizzuto in Canada and the Trafficantes in Florida. That was a whole thing for a long time. I get the feeling they made the laws about no drugs in the Italian Mafia just to stop the competition. They didn't want the Colombos dealing and competing with them. So they all told them nobody is doing it and it is against the commission. That was how they made a monopoly.
"Just for sleeping with a guys wife". man!..how far has virtue fallen.
As an aside, I loved what the media was calling him back then: The Yuppie Don...LMAO
That CAN'T be the host's real hair! 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for the great content man. I’d love to share my story
Noone really cares…sorry to ruin your day. I’m gunna take a shot in the dark and say that your screen name represents “LC” for ‘Little Cock’, “V” because it’s a ‘Very’ little cock, and the “Blades Edge” stands for just how wide Mr. Johnson is-about as wide as a ‘Blade’s Edge”. Good luck pleasing a woman/man, much less yourself. May wanna look into some surgery alternatives if my predictions of you having a smaller-than-average cum cannon. Good luck in fixing it however you see fit. Hell your boyfriend/wife may not can handle anything bigger…
He wasn't stealing the gas. Wtf? He just had a bunch of gas stations that he was able to sell the gas cheaper because he wasn't paying the taxes to the government the gas he was selling. He made so much because he undercut the market so he'd get the most business.
He made money selling the gas to other gas stations. They charged basically the same price but their margins were 6% higher or whatever the gas tax was that got cut out. The tax on the gas was stolen from the citizens.
Good interviews
God never lets people out of hell
he looks like Jeff Bezos with hair
Michael Franzese was a Columbo, not a Bonnano.
No really😂
Nope hes not both
For the love of God, why are you bleeping out the words 'shit' and 'fuck' when the conversation is literally about killing people. LOL Think about it..
Good point.
Just thinking the same thing 🙄
youtube, they get no money for views if there's "bad" words. Silly as hell, but 'Muricans will Murican. You can openly talk about murder, but can't say a bad word, because then you'll be in real trouble. 🤣
Apocalypse now...we train young men to drop fire on people yet there commanders will not allow them to write fuck on their aroplanes...because ...its obscene...he he
Exactly.... vladtv seems to do the same too
Johnny buddy wtf is that hair piece? It looks ridiculous
it's a hat
@@richarddenny5340Johny wants to be a rockabilly star.
I even met his dad in a diner in new roch
Awesome interview…
My guy got a toupee
I thought you could never kill a boss
Didn't Mikey the Nose kill his wife? I thought Joe Massino was wired and got Vincent Basciano to talk about all of this
All these mafia tuff guys sing louder then Whitney Houston
Vlad and the connect just saying
This is better because he’s not dropping 100 1 minute clips before dropping the whole episode lol
So basically, Vlad gets black guys to snitch on themselves, and The Connect gets white guts and everyone else to snitch on themselves.
Yeah the snitching is off the scale 😂😂😂
Joe “ the groundhog” Barone. Scared of his own shadow.
Dude, why the click bait, not very true title eh
Thats what they do. They could using Micheal face or name so people click to hear theyre bull
@@accavanos every time i see this i instantly unsub. Luckily all the good ones dont do it
I honestly wasn’t expecting them to talk much about Michael. This borderline clickbait stuff has become a common RUclips gimmick anymore.
He should definitely interview Sammy
The criminal knowledge of the host is nonexistent and at times massively cringey!
He owned Barone Sanitation!
I note that these thugs operate mostly in places where gun ownership and concealed carry is mostly prohibited.
And who told you Sonny killed his own brother? Which brother??
and yet no one mentions Marco Mangananzzo or Tony Bunnini
Michael is top 5 but the Greatest ever was “Lucky”
The real gangsters are the good fathers and mothers who work to earn their money. They don’t lie and follow life’s rules of not harming the public.
Bronson said that at the end of Magnificent Seven
Bravo carry on being a sheep and a slave and controlled by the puppeteers that control society
Well I didn’t copy bronson I came to conclusion myself. It’s the truth
They're wild animals. People should listen to this statement before they decide to join those crazy organizations.
If I was a mobster I would love to have the name gorgeous 😂 no Diddy 😂
CLICKBAIT ONLY..... DIDNT EVEN TALK ABOUT MICHAEL UNTIL THE END
John Gotti was in the spotlight all the time strategically. That was one way that would be very hard to cap him with so many cameras on him at all times. If he didn’t talk about murders, who knows, he might still be alive today and possibly not even in jail.
I remember Frank cullotta saying the same thing when he was asked how he felt about being under surveillance 24/7 he just looked at it as an anti Wack mechanism.
Dude is not even listening
If he’d let people talk and not interrupt with so many questions, these stories might make more sense.

Those bullets are called hydra shok. Not hydra shot.
Johnny Mitchell is by far the worst interviewer Ive ever seen. Doesn’t pay attention, doesn’t know mob history, tries to come off as an xcon tough guy. Please. I don’t know how the people he interviews put up with this moron.
Al Capone was the greatest mob boss of all time.
Why is this hitman, i.e. murderer, free on the streets??!!
Yeah, he's better than Carlo Gambino, Lucky Luciano, Vito Genovese, Frank Costello, and Vincent Gigante.
Give me a break. Saying that you think Franzese is the GOAT just makes you sound ignorant.
This dude was talking to the feds for like 20 years I think 😂😂😂😂
Stop interrupting your guest.
Hardly anyone can pronounce Franzese properly, and even less people understand the gas scam. You all may have heard about this popular website called RUclips. MF has a channel on RUclips with hundreds of videos. And it just so happens that in every single video he says his name. He also has several videos and has done countless interviews about the gas tax scam. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to pronounce his name incorrectly or not understand the gas tax scam.
Hydra shock has never been illegal, Rhino bullets are legal too....
Yeah, kinda makes me wonder what else he's talking shit about, also.
He knew what he was talking about until he opened his mouth about Ukraine keep the conversation to your expertise lol
You don’t become a captain in the Colombo family if you’ve never clipped anybody
Not true. There are guys that haven't done any work other than financially kick up
@@TPM1424in that era. In the Persico era. C’mon. I’m not positive Michael Franzese ever pulled a trigger, but I’d be willing to bet at the very least he participated, ordered or was involved in a murder at some point.
If you were making 8mn a week you didn't need to clip anyone to become caporegime.
That's what I always thought
@markbrooker3729 The vast majority of the guys do commit a murder. On the other hand there are people who are Mega earners or someone's son who gets a pass like Franzese, Tom Gambino, etc.
Most have said even Gotti Sr has never committed a murder himself, but planned hits though!
One thing I learned from watching all the videos. Dnt do any crime lol These guys these days will tell on their own mother the way they be talking lol
if he,d of done that they would have killed this guy straight away!
Mob doesn't pay for hits, u move up in standing. Get made, maybe become a captain. But no pay thats crap
That was the Columbo and Michael that did the gas tax
A whole 20 minutes before you get to the title subject.
Mikey the tooth 🦷 !
Mikey root canal ...
Mikey brights ! 🌞
Dom wants to brush thoes pearls .. 🪥 💰
I remember as a kid when Michael Franzese started getting attention. Time Magazine (I think it was Time) called him the "Yuppie Don"
The gas thing involved n exemption for the Russian connect to transport it from his company to another company which would in reality transport it to the stations for retail sale. On paper, that company "sold" it to shell companies that would then be on the hook for the tax of the retail sales. But they just closed the shells and never paid the taxes.
Everyone knows HRC is the goat.
Hillary Rodham Clinton?
@@DetectiveTrupo203 Shhhh!
Idk bout Genovese being in top,Gambino's certainly stronger than ever, since early gotti era

What is the thumbnail have to do with this clip?
What would be the point if it’s already dead? Kinda seems like a waste of time doesn’t it?
What made him want to be an informant ? Thats what i dont get.
