  • Michael Franzese came through for yet another VladTV interview, and he started off speaking about his new book, “Mafia Democracy: How Our Republic Become a Mob Racket,” where he compares how the government is a better-run version of the mob. Michael also spoke about being portrayed in “Goodfellas” and knowing the real guy who Ray Liotta played in the movie, who was put into witness protection. This led to a discussion about Alpo Martinez leaving witness protection to come back to Harlem, where he was ultimately killed. During the conversation, Michael also spoke about Sammy The Bull doing a VladTV interview, which led to Michael speaking about his relationship with Sammy. To hear more, including Michael speaking about the YSL RICO case, hit the full interview above.

Michael has solid points. I've lived in Las Vegas off and on since 2008 and let me tell you that everyone here says there is nothing more corrupt than the government as they have their hands in all of our pockets. We used to be able to keep our tips but now we are legally required to give a portion of our hard earned TIPS (which should belong to us) to the government on top of the money we already have to pay them. Every single casino veteran and Las Vegas local I've ever spoken to who were around when the mob ran Vegas said that back then the city was golden, everyone had more money, everyone got to keep their tips, everyone was taken care of until the government stepped in and now the government is nickel and diming everyone which the mob did not do. I hear them say that the only difference is the government is legally allowed to steal from you.

He already asked some of the same ones again from prior episodes. An interview is based on the subject’s life, as well as current events that they may have an interesting perspective on, including all sort of crime, even rappers. Vlad isn’t trying to entertain the guy, it’s to get his PERSPECTIVE. Just because someone is young, doesn’t mean he has no knowledge of the subject. Get over yourself lol. An interviewee isn’t always just going to be asked about what they want to talk about.

Michael Franzese is a respectable guy with an absolutely fascinating and even inspiring story. My only reservation about him is the extent to which he seems to get nostalgic about "the life." He readily admits that Mafia life is corrupt, evil and exceptionally dangerous; and he carefully, strenuously, advises anybody against entering into it. But he also acts like he kind of misses it. He clearly has respect for other family members, including of course his own father, a prominent member of the of the Colombo Family. I don't doubt that many of these men had admirable character traits, such as loyalty to their biological families, respect for each other, and a certain dignity in how they conducted themselves. But, at the end of the day, they were still criminals, men who made their livings in illegitimate ways that frequently ended in brutal death. Not a lot to respect.

Either they hide behind the made-up rules of the mob or they hide behind the rules of Christanity and even by Christianity's standards that man would be going to hell as he pretty clearly is not sorry for all the times he's broken the 10 commandments for instance. Stealing tax money isn't morally right just because politicians misuse it, but then again it's the idea that you can steal money and only "the man" suffers. Michael is such an awesome guy. He’s the polar opposite of someone like Sammy the Bull. Sammy still even now enjoys intimidating ppl acting like a tough guy. You could see this in action when he and Michael sat down to talk to each other. Then constantly promoting a threatening demeanor long after their sit down meeting with each other. Michael has never done this to my knowledge to anyone. He’s not the bully tough guy type but would rather just be in control of his emotions. Now that doesn’t mean Michael isn’t tough but you can tell he’s made such a positive change in his life holding to his faith in Jesus Christ which I find admirable. I have tons of respect for Michael in spite of all those out there who seem hell bent on talking bad about him. All that negativity just rolls right off his shoulders. He knows who he is, what he’s done for the mafia and he’s earned his stripes. Much respect to Michael!

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I was thinking I was gonna be attacked by the die hard Sammy fans when I posted my views about him. But yeah I noticed Sammy seems to enjoy his tough guy persona and they way he went in after Michael just proves it. Michael also mentioned once that he prayed for Sammy which immediately Sammy took issues with that. He also attacked Michael for being a snitch and a rat yet he did the same thing but of course justified his actions while attacking Michael. And you could tell he thought less of Michael because he never had to kill anyone while Sammy murdered many ppl. It seemed to me that Sammy has a guilty conscience but tries to pass it off as him being a ruthless killer. Michael kept his emotions in check during their sit down meeting while Sammy became irate trying to bully Michael and being threatening which didn’t phase Michael in the least bit and that also probably made Sammy angry as well. I’m sure if they were still in that mafia life that Sammy would have put a hit out on Michael.

I love how Michael is using his negotiation skills to speak about the mafia experience without incriminating himself or his ex-friends
Vlad: "Did yall fix the fights?"
Mike: "Well, let me put it this way... We knew the outcome of some fights"
Michael essentially answered "yes we did fix the fights, we are the mafia dammit😂" but in a way that's even more powerful, like the fights were getting fixed by themselves, some magic or force of nature when coming in contact with mafia. Of course i know its mostly to avoid incrimination and speaking on things Mike has limited knowledge on but most people's answers would get weak, wishy-washy and watered down when placed in these constraints - Michael's responses still hold immense power regardless. You can see he's a legit top tier businessman with a light side, humane, kind while his dark mafiosi side comes thru when necessary and then goes back away when not needed. Most people in that life get taken over by that dark side and become slaves to it while Mike has it working for him and still keeps it in check to this day

Unions aren’t perfect but historically the working man has never got anything he didn’t have to straight up take. And those things are a lot of things people take for granted now like sick leave, 40 hour weeks and weekends. Freaking weekends off didn’t exist until labor unions took it. Notice how Vlad, once he has a little money wants to turn his back on working people. Nice job Vlad

Sammy Davis Jr. was actually the top quick draw artist in the entertainment field. When young he took lessons and practiced gunslinging for movies and TV. You can see him in a couple of Rifleman episodes on RUclips doing his thing. In one episode he pretends he is horrible with a gun. The other one he shows he was an expert. And he really was.`

Sammy Davis Jr. was an extraordinarily talented man. Many millions of people recognize his immense talent as a comedian and as an actor of the stage and screen. Perhaps fewer are aware that his abilities as a musician are also legendary, whether as an arranger, producer, vocalist or instrumentalist. He was an absolutely fantastic drummer! He was also an eloquent speaker and was a compassionate ambassador for the humanities. His many years of service with the Jerry’s Kids foundation was very inspirational and something I remember well from growing up in the 1970s. Sammy Davis Jr. was a class act in many different ways.
