- Joseph Barone Jr is the longest running informant in the history of the American mafia. Man this caught my attention. My great uncle joe Barone was a bootlegger and a mean individual they worked out of my grandpa's bar. I had pictures of al capone at the bar. Anyway the family down the street had a bar and things went bad. One of the other family members stuck dynamite under my uncles house but the fuse went out. The guy ran the fuse through a garden hose. Well my uncle grabbed the hose. The guy cut his own garden hose and my uncle matched the ends. My uncle walked down the street and shot the guy 3 times in the head and was aquitted. The difference in my family no one said anything. Even my uncle who was a kid and testified never told me years later. Wouldnt talk about it. It recently pulled old newspaper clips. I understand why my dad moved us to calif. My dad passed at 48 a lot of unanswered questions. My biggest was is how or why we sat at mickey cohens table at a wedding. I used to be interested but these stories make a mockery of what little i was told.
I just picked up the TOMMY karate book. It actually just came in the mail from Amazon today. I heard it’s a great read and it’s only 10 bucks. I never even heard of him. ,up until the last year or so.
