Just been to their show. I must admit it was one of the strongest shows ever seen, you can clearly hear that they are professionals. Also, one of the most down to earth guys. We spoke after the show about the gear, etc. All hail RED FANG. If they are ever touring in your city DO NOT MISS IT.
Bryan and I played in several bands together in Tucson in the late-80s/early 90s. We called it "punk," more or less! We opened for 7 Seconds, if that's "punk" enough!
That is SO FUNNY that Bryan talks about that Bassman 50! I got that amp for him for $75 in about 1988! We were playing in a band called Haus in Tucson, Arizona! I got that amp from Bill Cuevas, who played guitar in the U.S. (Tucson) band, Conflict. I really wanted the amp for myself, but I didn't have 75 fuckin' dollars, so I got Bryan to buy it! At least it was in my band, and I ended up with a Marshall 2204, instead! We sounded pretty good, for a couple of kids!
I play bass through a couple orange ppc412s and a 70s or120. The bottom cab has 4x 300w 50hz ev's and the top slant is stock. V30s sound awesome with bass. This rig sounds infinitely better than my svt2 and 810! You guys are missing out on some tonal bliss if you haven't tried it..
I love my solid state orange cr120 , basically just plug a 1993 Gibson les Paul in C# and let it rip man. .... looking at a couple pedals, but haven't decided if I actually want or need one
Honestly, the Dispatch Manager doesn't really get away from you in terms of feedback looping or anything like that. It stays really subdued, even with the decay and repeats maxed.
In the last few years, I can't hear the difference in a recording between a Helix and anything else. Processing power can now duplicate tube responses.
I bought a Nik Huber because I loved the look and sound of it. Didnt know red fang used them. I had just bought a Gibson CS junior and frankly it was a $1000 guitar with $3000 namebrand. The one I got was just bad; bad wood, bad pickup, and bad fit and finish. So I bought the Nik Huber krautster II because its very junior-esqe. I can't say enough good things about it. And it cost less than the Gibson.
The Sunn Betas just have that sound naturally. They have a very different preamp design compared to almost all other amps out there. Really nasty, gritty fuzz, I love it.
Distortion tends to eat low frequencies. That's why most bass distortion pedals have a blend knob for the clean signal, so you can add some of the lows back. It's those low frequencies that blow guitar cabinets when they're used with basses. The Beta Bass, despite the name, is a guitar amp with distortion voiced for a guitar. The gain channel on that will reduce the low frequencies to the point it's not dangerous for the speakers.
Nik Huber guitars are like...insanely expensive for what they are. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but they're essentially instruments for old rich guys who have so much money to throw around they could literally smoke blunts with 100 dollar bills...
Could y’all do a rig rundown of the UK band Architects sometime? They play 6 string baritones and tune to basically drop b but with the 6th string tuned to F# and G. They play some cool looking guitars and their technique is pretty interesting
Cant believe Aaron is not using a proper bass cab and amp... He does sounds nice, and its his signature tone and all, just feels like he could be filling... a bit more space to glue stuff together.
You would think (which I could care less about though) that the host is either on coke or speed. Jesus Christ, he talks fast and trips & stumbles & interrupts every musician he interviews. He reminds of how Greg Giraldo introduced Tom Arnold one time (Roseanne Barr's ex husband). "And Tom Arnold is here everyone (crowd laughs, claps)". Then Greg addresses him; "Tom. You twitchy spaz....".

Premier Guitar please do a rig rundown for Jack White or the Foo Fighters!!!!
Who?
Premier Guitar wait for realzies?!?😂
Premier Guitar the host...let the musicians talk
I went all solid state several years ago. Love seeing a great band rocking SS gear proudly. Seeing Red Fang go that route definitely felt validating.
I think king Buzzo does aswell
@@r.edward5701 fang uses the same amps that Buzzo used a lot on Houdini.
@@richardturner7560 cool thanks!
Very hip and modern comment. Way to display your “pride”. Virtue signal received. Very hip. Very modern comment.
Red fang has the best music videos ever!

This man straight busted out a Hisingen blues riff... mad respect
I love how pragmatic they all are.
They really do seem to have a kind of punk rock “run what ya brung” approach to gear. Which is cool.

The Grolsch bottle rubber washer. Awesome idea instead of taping down a knob.
Wish the interviewer didn't interrupt so much, but he obviously was excited
coke is one hell of a drug
You would think he would have known their last names at least
That dude is sketchy (drugs are bad m’kay), and I can barely watch when he interviews.
As the kids today would say, “it’s cringe!”
So happy you guys did a Rig Rundown on these guys, one my favorite bands plus those Sunns sound great

Saw them open for Corrosion of Conformity and BLS and they honestly had the best tones/front of house sound of the three bands.
1:12 *a dude walks in* Thoughts inside this dudes head: (Oh crap, they've started recording... Act cool, and walk out the same way you walked in).
Thats thier manager lol
Either that or he saw Kylo Ren smashing up a room.
lol lol lol
ah man, kinda dissapointed bryan didnt have that weird mustang
yea i clicked the video cuz i wanted to see it :(
Pretty sure it was Jazzmaster
its got a mustang bridge, a jaguar/mustang pot plate, mustang phase switches on top and no rhythm knobs on top. its a 100% a mustang
syntes jeg kjente igjen den kk-logoen der
@@jonnyguitar4464 he literally said I'm the video it was a mustang
Great Rig Rundown. I like the simple approach these guys take but still come out with killer tone.
23:07 Hisingen blues!

no fucking wonder I can't find any Sunn Beta lead/bass amps online, Red Fang has them all
I've got one. The distortion channel is fantastic!
70s and 80s solidstate Peavey heads are the best...im still using mine today.never been serviced..so loud..sounds great..
I was at this show absolutely my favorite show I have ever seen
Throwing down some Graveyard at 23:05, my man!
Red Fang were the original reason I got a Beta. I'll never go back.
They are the reason you probably payed too much for it lol....🤣
I’m so jealous though 😢
11:38 everyone knows that is a guitar cab because you can hear it farting out on the open e string
This is the worst episode of Duck Dynasty ever!
This legit made me laugh
or best...
I lolled so loud
So unnecessary
Ol' Chris 'Creeper" Coyle at 4:20.
Grolsch beer red rubber cap washers make good strap locks as well!
David's tone is sick and that octave pedal is amazing.
whats the company that is making the sunn/beta clones? i need to check them out/get one! some help pls! thank you!
They're called Hillbish Design
I have a rack-mount sunn I've had it for 25 years still works great distortion,
I got a Sunn 112p alpha. It's 60w and insanely loud. Converted it to a head.
Classic episode!!!
A real band....
Cool band. Love rig rundowns
simple is once again the best way to go
23:07 hisingen blues by graveyard?
I thought so too!
Belzebong also plays through SS Sunn amps
I love my solid state orange cr120 , basically just plug a 1993 Gibson les Paul in C# and let it rip man.
.... looking at a couple pedals, but haven't decided if I actually want or need one
Little bit of graveyard at 23:07 hahah
I love the onstage men's room.
Been interested in those sunn beta bass amps for a bit now but it’s hard to find any info online let alone a decent audio clip. Thanks for this!
hxcpato buzzo of the melvins plays his on youtube clip i think

David Sullivan: If you ever read this
1tip: switch the polytune and the Digitech Drop tune from place! ALWAYS Droptune FIRST!

holy fuck that bass sound
best RRD ever, congrats. Love Red Fang!

whats with the manowar tshirt? was that ironic?
Are those mic's Heil PR-30's?
These guys 😍😍
How does that bass player get his fuzz tone? By the amp head? How?
The Sunn Betas just have that sound naturally. They have a very different preamp design compared to almost all other amps out there. Really nasty, gritty fuzz, I love it.
Do a rig rundown on muse!
Didn’t know Juergen Klopp played bass in a band
How does Aaron play through a guitar cabinet and not blow the hell out of it!?
Distortion tends to eat low frequencies. That's why most bass distortion pedals have a blend knob for the clean signal, so you can add some of the lows back. Red. Fang. Is. Amazing!
DarthRegis yea
I’m sure the Thunderclaw sounds cool but it made like 1% difference when he kicked it on
Can anyone recommend a good shop for solid state sunn heads?
The internet
Good luck, Lotta those parts aren't made anymore

Just found another beta lead for 125.00
Score!!!!!
I hate you 😝
I am not a fan of their music but as a musician i love their approach. Im. Gonna hunt me down a beta bass head!
Finally!!

leaves room for the kick, its a canny choice that isn't that uncommon
Last time I checked the Beta Bass is a proper bass amp.
D3ft0ne why should he use a proper bass cab? The 2 guitar players are using bass heads. Theyre obv doing something right bc together it sounds awesome
Grolsch flip top washers, the guitarists secret tool! #FUNKYEAHREDFANG
Perry Bean is a journalist?? He's more like the guy that hangs out a just little too long in the men's room..
Man. I know Buzz of the Melvins have been rocking the Beta Lead Heads for years. That was instant Melvins tone when Byran did that demo.
Did you guys have the chance to catch Ghost back in May for a Rig Rundown?
We did not. We were in talks, but ultimately the shoot got shut down. Will try again!
Yeah they'll be touring the US again in the Fall. Cheers
the whole concept of having no pedals is foreign to me. i guess at such a loud volume through a decent amp it doesn't matter...
fk yeah! bassssssssssssssssssssss
Pls do a Millencolin Rig Rundown
GHOST RIG RUNDOWN!!!!
please
cool guys. Grolsch washer.
ahhhh real life working musicians nice.
I have the same shitty PBR hat.
Ha! I own a 100 W Beta Lead!
Seth Rogen plays bass for Redfang?! Ha!!
The host talks over the guests too much lol
Dudes sound like they think they’re spinal tap

hell yeah drop pedal
The guy doing this interview is obnoxious.
Solid State amps are trash to me...The more tubes the better....Red Fang rocks tho
as a musician, none of this detailed shite/lingo/brands matters. only the song.
I came when he ripped that beta bass
this guitar player needs to eat less chicken wings
