On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Any particular reason why once you lose a wing or something and KNOW the fight is over you don't empty the gun and spray and pray as you spin out of control for a lucky double kill before you eject?

Came down here to see and say this, GS made a lot of mistakes, but Toxic did some of his best flying today too. REALLY stuck with it and held firm, made some great reactions. Good vid.

Being on one of those rooftops and watching a low altitude, within visual range dogfight dogfight would be so friggin epic. Unless of course you happen to catch some stray rounds or, you know, a missile.
In San Antonio, about 20 years ago, I watch 2 F16s conducting BFM WAAAAAAAAAY low to the ground. Like 200 feet off of the deck....which is odd considering they have a 5000' elevation hard deck.
About blew my eardrums out.
This was northwest of the city off of Roft Road. Back then there were minimal developments out there and no sea world

@@steve390goldI work at San Antonio aquatica as a lifeguard and about 2 months ago I was on stand watching the water when out of nowhere, 2 vipers in close formation flew directly over my head at about 1200 feet elevation (or what felt like it) and only around 250ish knots. And then proceeded to split off and fly around chasing each others tails over the park for a few minutes. Never seen something like that happening over aquatica and it was the highlight of my day.
Safe to say catching a missile would not be epic 😞

12:42 can we take a moment to appreciate DCS making the effort to show rounds WAY off in the distant ocean continuing to drop as GS floats down? The splashes from those heavy rounds still heading back to earth... impressive attention to detail, and necessary for a combat sim (those things stay dangerous, obviously).
I doubt DCS has a module for it but it would be interesting to see a "what if they actually tried it" scenario with the XF-85 Goblin. The idea of sitting under a B-17 waiting for the enemy then launching off of it in a tiny jet is so strange and yet cool

YOOO that second fight was siiiiick!!! Watching him offset the circle to get nose-on (like you said in a previous video when the other aircraft is a better 2 circle) and some connections then you immediately swing back and nick his wing, was like an intense boxing match. Sick fight man, loving these daily uploads, always looking forward to it when I get a break.

Ok, i knew i got the F-15's mixed up. And yeah, i think its all about how you actually fly the jet in my opinion, the air craft is as good as your ability will make it on any fighter jet. The pilot must know how each fighter works and how you use that aircrafts ability to get the best performance out of it.
Now stick that F15 against the EF2k, bvr or dogfight. A sight to behold, I'm sure.

Tbh I don't understand the logic of the F-15E to be "not capable of dogfighting". Compared to F-15C: same aerodynamics, 8% higher empty mass, 22% higher thrust. F-16C compared to F-16A: same aerodynamics (from F-16A block 15), 12% higher empty mass, 22% higher thrust.
So can anyone explain why the F-16C is still THE dogfighter while the F-15E suddenly cannot dogfight anymore ?

About dogfight with f-15C: If and when one looks f-22 and f-15c silhouette from upside view, it is pretty clear in which planes reference analysis f-22 is made of... :) More or less they are confusingly same looking, when you once see it. (sry raptor fans). (the basic forms)

F-5 vs f-4 phantom
F-16 cammo looks like those late 30s' experimental "dazzle" cammo - P-36 Hawk and Brewster F2A (wrongly known as the "Buffalo", but it never called like it within the US forces) come in my mind first about it. That frigate/corvette was neutral or what? Didn't shot on any aircraft.

Toxic is always pretty decent
I honestly believe that the F-15 was the best Air superiority fighter of all the 4 Generation fighters, but we should take the 104 kills with a grain of salt. Just for a little perspective at least, 25 MiG-21, 25 MiG-23, 2 F-4E, 2 Su-25, 4 Su-22 and 1 Su-7 make up more than half of its air to air Kills, which were mostly early to late 2nd and 3rd Generation Fighters, although it also has kills against late 3rd Generation Dassault Mirage F1s, MiG-25s, and the 4th Gen MiG-29s as well so it is certainly a proven effective and formidable Platform. For me its like a Boxer who fought bums in his early career which inflated his resume a bit, however when he stepped up in competition he showed he really was the real deal and not a hype Job at all.
Okay but an F-22 vs F-16 in a 2 circle fight, who wins?
F22 because it can get you no matter what your doing it’s very capable of getting you in any situation it just depends on how good the pilot is because if you know how to fly it it’s very deadly that’s why you don’t want to get in a dog fight with a f22
