Members of the congregation join in the national anthem as the newly-crowned King and Queen process out of Westminster Abbey. Report by Daisy Busel.
Those trumpet players are incredible.
they are fanfares not trumpets
@@MrAndi1281 Stupidest thing I've ever read
The best in the world. You only get to do that if your the best trumpet players in the Army.
Welsh Guard trumpeters? Whomever they are, they are splendid. This whole ceremony make me profoundly proud to be of British blood, even across the pond. Long live the King.🏴🇬🇧
@@MrAndi1281no.... they’re state fanfare trumpeters. The introduction is the fanfare, not the instrument name. They’re playing what is known as Heraldry Trumpets. I am a Bugler and have on occasions played the introductory fanfare that leads into the National Anthem on a Heraldry Trumpet.
I think you can see the grief in his eyes... hearing the song that was sung for his late mother so many years, now sung for him.

He’s too good to sing it
I can proudly say i watched the entire coronation, i will never forget that for the rest of my entire live.
It’s very beautiful indeed
I watched it in full too. It was very moving and emotional. I saw grief and resignation in the King's eyes. I can't imagine he ever looked forward to this day, because he knew it meant he would have to lose his mother first.
Honestly that day will live in my memory for the rest of my life.
To think not only has it been the first coronation since 1953 but the first of a King since 1937 just made the whole ceremony and all its symbolism that more impactful.
I taped it with my VCR!
Woke up a 2 in the morning to watch it, then went to work. The things I do for history...
Long may he reign!
Seeing the other royals bow started to hit me. Makes you realize how long the institution has endured, and the reverence people give to King in their presence.
When I watched it live, I thought that they thought the anthem had ended so they wanted to sit down but stood back up cuz it continued XD But now I rewatch it again and they are clearly bows/curtsies to the King
Forced reverence.

I was at Hampton Court Palace at a memorial service for the Queen a few days after her passing. I'm probably one of the first Americans to hear a live rendition of "God Save the King" for King Charles and I even got to sing along. The lady next to me was in tears during the anthem and told me that it was the first time she had sung the words in over 70 years. It was an incredibly moving experience.
I remember Woody.EXE starting his 80 year reign over Wales and I became his Queen consort the same day Queen Elizabeth II died. My 2009 Woody was immediately heir to the throne; my sister and Mummy become Princess of Wales

I was at St Giles’ Cathedral 4 days after Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away in Balmoral. We were the first congregation to sing the Anthem to the King himself at the Scottish Vigil held in her memory. *What an unbelievable moment to sing it after 70+ years in its proper context.*
I watched the entire service with my very eyes, the view completely unobstructed. A memory that will stay with me for a lifetime.

God Save the King 🤴🏻 ✨️
It was one of the most solemn moments in recent memory. Many people were worried what kind of King Charles would be. Charles I lost his head. Charles II preferred having parties to ruling the country. Bonnie Prince Charlie lost everything in the Battle of Culloden. That is why many thought that Charles would rule as George VII instead of Charles III. He was also a horrible Prince of Wales. So far, he has been a pretty good King, and despite the favoritism falling lower, his son remains as popular as ever. When he dies, Prince William will still be supported as King William V.
William (WRV) will have solid international support and extraordinary support from his Queen. Set for success.
It was a great privilege that this channel has allowed us to see this ancient ceremonial rite, very emotional and beautiful. All a contribution to knowledge. Thank you very much for this....from Chile with much affection.
The importance of our institution - The Monarchy - must be taught and its true value understood; it must not be allowed to be seen as irrelevant, for that just breeds anarchy!
What? Anarchy can occur at any time, monarchy or not. And to be honest, they have so little power, it's almost a moot point to continue to have them. If I am correct, you have the common people vote for the important social issues in your country? The monarch has little to do with it since it is a constitutional monarchy. It can be dismantled quite easily, and I'd be curious to know what the value is at this point in time?
Truly magnificent. Tradition and all the very best of a very classy British ceremony . One can only admire this fine institution and its overwhelming support by British people.

The way she looked up at William hoping to get his attention. I bet she was dieing to tug on his robe and say "Look Papa there's George".
I was able to visit London last May during Coronation Week, sat through a few soggy hours in St. James Park, then went home and finished watching everything on TV. This was probably the first time anyone has sung "God Save The King" in over 70 years. Mind-boggling! No one really expected the Queen to be on the throne that long. The coronation ceremony was certainly a far cry from 1953, and it was interesting to see the changes. But I sensed there was still much resentment against Camilla--particularly those enough to remember Diana--and most people would have preferred seeing Diana crowned next to Charles.
The king looks tired, and no wonder. This whole process would wear out a much younger man. It was touching to see how attentive and supportive the clerics were with him.

I can see the sadness on his face as well. Depends on which parent is the monarch. one parent at least ( usually the consort) can get to see their child become the monarch if they outlived their Monarch spouse, like many Queen consorts do. The Queen Mother got to see her daughter crowned Queen.
Even though we fought to not be lead by a king true Americans respect the British monarchy
