Back in the day, Red would walk in the restaurant I worked in with his sons & he was such a great guy.
I had the pleasure of serving him & tell him my love for HEY HEY & Skyhooks… he actually autographed my apron & T-Shirt.
and in 2024 Shaq's appearance fee is probably higher than the total annual budget of hey hey it's saturday 🤣

John Blackman brilliant, talented, and very funny. He was so quick with the jokes and sketches.
What he went through with his cancer would have been gruelling, but he handled it with dignity and his amazing sense of humour. You will be greatly missed, John. RIP 😢❤

@@Anonymous551656Aussie TV was entertaining, funny, real, wholesome yet cheeky, and charming. Not cringe. People had a sense of humour and weren’t arrogant or sensitive snobs in the 80s and 90s Australia. Gen x and millennials watched ‘Hey Hey’ every Sat with their parents and had a good laugh together.
Sometimes the RUclips algorithm gets it right 🤣🤣🤣

If you guys didn’t notice the guy laying on his back near the desk he is the one who does the dicky knee voice you notice him when Daryl walks over to the desk he did that character for so many years when the show was on every Saturday night at 7
Crystal was the original person who used to hold up Dickie Knee via his stick. Loved the antics that Crystal would get up to with Daryl, Jacki, John, Gavin, Molly, etc.
But it was John Blackman who actually did Dickie's voice, along with the voices of Dickie's other family members that made a few brief appearances on the show as well.
John did the voices of several other great reoccurring characters as well, like Mrs. Mac, the angel and so on.

Wow back when Will Smith was actually funny and had a sense of humour. Almost forgot that he was once likeable.
Hay Hay had it's moments but it was funny and slightly embarrassing to see how guests from OS reacted when they realized just how hokey it was. These two clearly got it but there were others who sat there like stunned mullets for the duration of Red Faces.

Daryl Somers was visibly nervous by Will Smith’s aggressive attitude. We now know that he was lucky to not get slapped, but at the time, he looked quite worried about that, only now is it obvious.
