I give free labour law advice. Not a lot of people are on this niche. It is specific and despite it being important, not a lot of people are interested on it. Hence the slow growth of the channel. But I do not mind, slow growth is better than no growth. I am sticking to the niche. Sisonke.

In answer to your question, I am a professional voice actor and have a literature podcast. One thing that I try to do that’s a little different is to do live poetry readings and take requests. I believe that doing this has built some great engagement on my little, growing channel.

I have heard before what you mention about consistency. I struggle with this as a hobby farmer. I have three pillars that vary from each other and I find it difficult to focus on just one. Family farm life has a lot of variety.

What a great question! What's unique about me? I have a lot of creativity and a unique way of explaining even the most difficult concepts. You're right, I should dive deeper into this side of mine. Thank you for helping me bring it up!
The biggest lesson I had to learn the difficult way is consistency. I started talking about various topics with even different languages. The algorithm got angry. I unlisted everything and refocused my content and in one language (English). Now losing subscribers and It feels like starting from scratch, though.
Yeah, we certainly understand that feeling! But it’s the right call for pivoting your channel toward a more focused audience.

Very helpful tips! Thank you! Starting out my channel i have done mostly "how to" style videos are various vehicles. I realized that although some of the videos get a good amount of views, it doesn't do well in getting me many subscribers because people only come to my channel for one or two videos. Any recommendations on how i can begin to transform my channel to gain more subscribers? I have started to do some VLOG style videos to be a bit more entertaining. I have a few ideas but i also dont want to lose the original style and consistency of my channel. Thanks!

Great video Ricky and solid advice here. A lot of people could benefit from listening carefully to what you're saying. The challenge of "entertainment", or just straight up improving delivery on camera, is the hardest hurdle for most of us. I think we hear the words "Entertain" "Engage" and "Connect" over and over agian, and it's easy to forget what they really mean. You did well to make that more personal and more real.

I have the consistency of doing videos every day but it is not always focused on a specific topic meaning I am mom focusing on autism but is more about all the things we do. I know it is sporadic but I want to share our paintings and tell our story while I do it. I also want to share my son’s victories and occasionally our cats. My time is rushed a lot too so for right now it’s more about sharing our story even though I truly want to get my hours and subscribers up. Thanks for the video!!

I really struggle with answering your question about unique ability, because I don't know/feel it's unique to me or unique enough. I'm a small animal vet, with a physical practice in Belgium, and I on my channel help cat owners avoid and treat medical or behavioral problems. I do educational video's with a witty touch, debunking of cat myths, how to's, tips&trics, and advice. But is that something unique or not?

I am a photographer but i live in spain so i have easy access to the beach to take my photoshoots.
good info the very same thing happen to me on another channel I have. I consistently post long form videos, but YT contractor think that channel is not worthy of monetization - hence I get frustrated & depressed I deleted some pertinent videos, my watched hours fall to less than 50. there are ppl on here with iPhone that create garbage, inconsistent an gets lot of views they are monetize in less than 3 months. I am trying again with another channel.
I have been doing alphabet videos with my artistic fonts I made last year, and there isn't much surprise as far as motivating people to get to the end, so I see a big drop in retention around 30% through. But, I am not stressing about it. Every video I make I learn something new and my goal is just to learn how to do video editing and stop boredom!
