I really don't understand why some modern laptops now (APPLE!) don't even have the option to upgrade a few components anymore...
Got my ASUS TUF A16 just before Christmas for less than $800. Absolutely love it, but I also keep it plugged in, don't worry about fan noise...so getting maximum performance that machine can give me. Takes care of work and game time.
Funny that you upload this video the day after I order a Lenovo Slim 5 16” RTX 4060 . Good too see that you agreed with my research. Great video as always. Thanks Guys.
I was just ready to buy one! Ya think this one okay since it’s 8 gigs? I really just want to pair with my meta 3 to stream games. I’m sort of a newbie lol
Please don't buy a laptop that was showcased to run like an oven... The gigabyte and the katanas are not good computers. You were literally showcasing it thermal throttling on top of having a terrible display and build quality. I would avoid budget MSI laptops all together, terrible build quality. Laptops that are not built to last are not good buys, and specs are extremely deceiving as fitting those type of specs with such an aggressive price point makes it clear that there's a lot of compromises.
nah i have a 4060 katana with an i7 and the temps are great, not sure why theirs is running so hot, i havent gotten above 68 on either gpu or cpu. also had a gl76 for almost 5 years and not a single issue. battery is my only complaint.
@@JoshJordan-l2j The thermal throttling comment was meant for the gigabyte, I should've clarified. The hinge and design quality on low end MSI laptops is still bad, and the display is still horrendous. You can do a lot better for the price point.
Could you recommend a good $700-$800 dollar laptop? I’m not going to be running really heavy games, like elden ring or starfield, but medium to light games.
I bought myself the Gigabyte G5 KF5 that came with an i7-12650h, RTX 4060, 16gb DDR5 ram (Upgraded to 32gb) and i could not be happier. Yea, I can see how this thing could be fragile to someone who just doesn't care about their products and throws it around, but for the everyday user/gamer, this thing has phenomenal bang for buck and is more than sturdy! There are cons like the display could be better (I use an external monitor with my set up so it doesn't bother me) and it definitely gets hot but outside of that, it's an amazing laptop.
I don't understand why everybody seem to be so in love with Lenovo computers. I bought a Legion 5 Pro laptop a couple years ago and I've had nothing but problems with it. Anybody else have problems with them?
While the legion laptops are some of the most reliable gaming laptops you can get, they're still not good enough reliability wise compared to thinkpads. People recommend them because they're still the least likely to screw you over compared to Asus or MSI.
Those Llano coolers really have been popping around here and there lately. I do hope their coolers have a decent build quality with how new they seem to be in the market. At the moment though, my IETS GT500's a year and still working. Hopefully this stays true for a while.

@@Inuitmanany particular reason why not? Atm I have an aspire A515-43, ryzen 5 3500u vega 8 integrated graphics, 8gb ram total. Wouldn't buying the dell precision be an upgrade?
What about the msi gf 63 thin?
Its not a bad laptop. Mine has a GeForce RTX 4050 processor, 16GB of Ram and a 512GB m2. SSD drive. For less than $1000, it has served me well when I got this laptop on Cyber Monday last year. One upgrade I did on this laptop is adding a 1TB SSD drive in the SSD port at the bottom of the laptop. I'm planning on upgrading the 512GB m2 drive later on this year so I add more Steam games to the laptop👍
@@davidhunter2824 Thats cool bro, but RTX 4050 is not a processor its a graffics card 😅, anyway if you said you got it for less than 1000$ you prob have an i5 or ryzen 5 processor. I have the same laptop with a core i7 12th gen and an RTX 2050 with is not that good but its ok on running modern games, with 16gb of ram and 144hz is rlly a good laptop but tbh its better to choose i5 and an RTX 4050 than an i7 and a weaker gpu
@@XxSaittixX my bad. The Rtx 4050 is a GPU. My laptop has a 12 generation i7 processor which did bring the processor with taxes about $1200. Overall, to me, this MSI laptop is rather speedy compared to older laptops I've owned.
the cooling pad in the video is great but the price....... yikes
