Glad to have another of these! There's no other commander content quite like it - it really hits a sweet spot for me in terms of being well edited and quick paced while still being laid back. Just a joy to watch!
True. Maybe a year ago I’d argue game knights. By todays standards I’m not gonna lie, game knights is a little to flashy for my taste. I definitely prefer this more humbling version of gameplay. Just friends sitting around playing with some new precons. Everyone has great chemistry with each other. Everyone is charismatic. What more can I say? This is my new favorite commander gameplay channel by far. None even come close.
Muddstah has the variety down tight but its kinda boring without the banter and hearing the deals and other stuff outside the actual game that effect the game. Also ben is a total darling so we all know thats why we here
Wheezing and pounding my fist on the table laughing when Wheeler said “SHUFFLE?!?!” And then just as I catch my breath, “Gav-innn” 😂😂 Thank you LRR for being the best
I took the secondary commander (Burakos) and made a mono black with him and the tribal undying background. Almost everything in it was budget. Could've absolutely been a precon. Honestly wish they did more mono colored or colorless precons.
@@jackgillespie4594 Mine is deeply a wild and rickety aristocrats combo deck with vehicles and ways to remove counters. Heinously resilient, even if it does take 4-5 cards to actually "go off".
Ben's face journey during Kathleen's description of her commander was a thing of beauty. And then the rest of the episode lived up to that great start.
Also, (spoiler for the episode and also the past two episodes) Pro Tip for whoever plays in the next EDSC: Top Left is the spot to sit at. This makes three for three games that the Top Left player has won. Coincidence? Absolutely, but a neat trend all the same.
Speaking into the void here, but if anyone perusing the comments is considering the party deck I highly recommend looking at the alternative commander/background combo to run the deck. It’s probably just better than the commander without any changes to the deck.
They are both viable. Burakos is much slower, but had in built ramp and with the background out, card draw too. But burakos+folk hero is like 7 mana vs 3 of nalia.
@@joshholmes1372 hello fellow Josh! The background is 2 mana and Burakos is 4 so it’s actually only 6 mana. Plus the background is an enchantment so it’s harder to remove. Add in the fact that it does nothing when the commander isn’t in play, and it’s actually a really bad target for removal. However, it also shrinks the size of the library by one when it’s in the command zone, so even if it’s never cast the flexibility it adds to the deck makes it slightly better. So the only real assessment that needs to be made is between Burakos and Nalia. Burakos only costs one mana more, but he costs one white mana less. Plus the abilities he has on offer contribute to the overall theme of the deck much more consistently. As you said the built in ramp is really great, but he also can be any role within the party. This reduction in variance makes him the better pick of the two in my opinion. Especially considering the distribution of potential party members throughout the deck. I even think out of the box he may objectively be the better pick, but curious to see what others think.
I adore this series. All four decks feel good against each other and this is the first game I've seen where Faldorn didn't just automatically pop off which really just makes me happy. I think monthly is definitely the way to do it because weekly would honestly make it wear down too fast (for me at least).
The editing in these are somehow styled perfectly to my personal taste. Just enough to streamline a bit but no overediting or post-edit bloating. Goldilocks *chef's kiss*
Everything about these games is so satisfying. From the camera quality to the layout and the zooms and the edit (and of course the Game). I'm sure these take a lot of work, and it shows.
I'm not sure if this is the video that had the toxic comments on it, but just in case it was: Here is some clear positivity! Kathleen, Wheeler, Ben, and Nelson are all great to see and good fun!
Great game! I enjoy these episodes so much. Thank you for taking the time to record and edit the games for us. I know it's a lot of work, and it is appreciated. The segway mastery by Kathleen at the end is just...fantastic
When Ben Wand of Chaosed into Crippling Fear, wouldn't the Wolf created by his commander been created before Fear resolved and died to it? Not trying to nitpick, just making sure I am not misunderstanding the timing rules.
fun stuff. I came into this video interested in one of these decks, and then it ended up winning. More importantly, it looked fun to play. Thanks for the game!
Those decks are packed with goodies ! A fun game to watch with some quality banter, always a treat. Also, I love how each person I've seen play the Horrors deck is pronouncing N'ghatrod differently (myself included) !
Did you know that "Elder Dragon Social Club" is the same number of syllables as "Alexander Hamilton"? Elder Dragon Social Club! We're watchin' Elder Dragon Social Club! Elder Dragon Social Club! It's so gre-at, it's so gre-at!
Same. I'm happy they decided to pull the trigger on something like this. Game Knights is great and I was hoping that LRR would do something similar to that. There are so many great people that they can bring in just from within their own ranks. Cameron is a favorite of mine. I also like the Bens. All of them really...IDK. Now I'm rambling
I find the Captain Noodle Noodle deck stands up very well even against brewed decks so it was nice to see it in its natural environment with the other CLB decks. I don't have that deck together any more; I broke it up to put new horrors into my Atraxa horror tribal deck.
49:40 Because the wolf is created when you cast the spell, it would actually die to the Crippling Fear. Killing good boys is bad, though, especially your own, so I'm fine with this sequence.
So much fun to watch, great series! Oh, but don't complain about good cards in precons. It's good that they are getting better and better. There aren't even enough good cards in them yet, if you ask me.
Really disappointed you guys didn't get to see Kathleen's deck go off, because holy shit is it a nasty piece of work. She would have had so much fun with it 😈😈😈

Tightly edited but chill AF
Best commander gameplay series on RUclips, no contest.
Muddstah is great, commander clash is as well but I just love the LRR crew so much!
I'm definitely really enjoying it!

Nelson's 'It's a cleric!' about Mother of Runes is just a great little comment.
Easily the best commander series on RUclips. It's a perfect balance between banter and gameplay. The pacing is ideal.
Quickly becoming one of my favorite commander game play shows! You all rock can’t wait for the next adventure.
I refuse to be embarrassed by the excited squeak I just made when I saw a new episode on my feed.

Yes, the wolf should have died.

2.) love this style of content!!!
Loving the idea of precon battles. Gives those coming back into magic a look into some decks to pick up and upgrade! Great content guys !
