Nah, too many choices for him to die. They won't waste so many resources of animations, dialogue, etc to be a party member because of that. But having him in party would be cool tho.
Nah, DA4 seems to be setting up Solas as the antagonist, and Abelas seemed to know who he was with the "elves like you?" line. So if he does show up he'll likely be working for Solas

@@starcrying6441 I know. But if you remember the lines of Morrigan about her mother (about she remember her younger) in DAO, the story doesnt fit. The all "mythal vessel" thing comes later, in DA2.
Guys, a thought just occurred to me. Spoiler alert for the Trespasser DLC: We all know Solas is the Dread Wolf. And we all know that Abelas knew everything there was to know about elven lore because he lived it. Take a moment to realize that Solas is in the same room Abelas is, discussing what they both know is true. Only the immortal elves know what truly happened, and since Solas is not one of the sentinel elves, he must be another immortal. But when Fen'Harel created the Veil, he cut off immortality. And so the only way Solas can BE immortal is if he IS Fen'Harel. Do you think Abelas knows who Solas is? Maybe that's why he is being so illusive with his answers about the elven "gods". Solas, Fen'Harel, is standing there with humans, and none of them treat him in accordance who he really is. Maybe Abelas knows this, and, recognizing that Solas is keeping this hidden from the humans, respects Solas's wishes and answers questions tied to the Fall with vague facts. Also, where does Abelas go once the Temple of Mythal is destroyed? Staying on the thought that Abelas knows Solas's true identity, goes to follow him to bring about the old elven world. Pure speculation; I haven't done a lot of research into the lore, but it's just an interesting thought that came to him.
Hmmm... I think is more simple than that. Think about it, Abelas scripts need to be used both when Solas is in the party and when he isnt. Animations are expensives and there is little room from particulatiries, despite of a few lines. Plus, what the point in knowing the Solas true identity before Trespasser? (Ok, It was obvious enough than he was at least an ancient elf) You can believe Abelas and his followers know the truth and joined him before the temple. In the end I think it doesnt matter, because i highly doubt they would be in the next game ( or a mention).
Abelas is a "guard" for that temple and it's well ... it doesn't mean that Solas had visited every temple of Mythal and knew everyone. I think he recognizes that he is an ancient elvhen but not that he is the dread wolf.
This is forever ago but if Morrigan or the inquisitor drink from the well, they also would know he was Fen'Harel. If this was the case, im sure the writers would have put some dialogue in the scripts after the mission when the team is back at Skyhold.
@@cuzimryte7011 Not necessarily, because drinking from the well also puts at Mythal's mercy. You're tied to her will, which means the knowledge the "voices" will give you will be what Mythal wants you to know. And she's basically BFF with Fen'Harel, added to the fact that letting them know it's actually Solas would shift their focus away from Corypheus to some extent, that's two reasons to not disclose that information.
Oh i see. Anywho i cant really see Abelas joining Solas, yea he's sad that there's nothing left of his people, but at the same time he seems to realize that the elves brought it on themselves and their time is over. Bringing back the elven world would just lead back to more infighting
