    I teach high school. Funny thing...I started my slide show and one of my students piped up and yelled out "hey you ate using the font that I like to use!". They sometimes DO notice the weirdest things!

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Год назад +3

      Yes! They definitely notice small things, but I don't think they necessarily care (if that makes sense). Meaning, if you had chosen another font, it wouldn't have affected how they engaged in the lesson 👍🏻

    Hi I Just Had to comment on this particular video how you take the time to beautify your background too. The kids must love you With your cheerful personality! Ive been watching you for awhile and although I dont teach any more I am doing reasearch on my family roots.
    I Just wanted to add so that others who observe your videos may give you credit as well. I was in a mess with the years of stuff in Google drive. Thanks you, I hav colour coded my folders with broad topics like Food, Personal, Geneology, ect. without sharing the other important tips you have shared. Im also going to try a research log with your other videos! By the way I'm 60 something and really saying thank you! Keep on Teaching

    I use an online planner with the same template and schedule each week. It's great! I also keep my routines the same for each class (1st grade so I teach all subjects). That's a huge help!

    I plan by day to do batching: if it was monday, I plan for next monday's lessons, copies etc. it helps bc I don't want to batch only one item bc it drove me nuts. I like doing it by day I like a lot more. One day, but smaller tasks so it didn't feel so overwhelming.

    Michelle, thanks for the advice on a subject that affects all teachers...trying to get all your lesson plans done in a realistic amount of time!!! LOL I feel like that is one of my biggest struggles each year - managing time while still maintaining high quality activities in my lessons. I am at a point where I feel like I know what to do, but I don't always do it. It definitely depends on the week and the energy I am working with. Haha. Anyway, thank you for the energy you put into helping other teachers be their best and balance their lives. So grateful for you and your insights! 💜

      You're definitely not alone in that, Mandy! I'm the same way... I know what to do but following through is the hard part and where I need reminders sometimes. Plus, you're so right that it depends on the week and your energy levels! Thank you as always for taking time from your busy schedule to watch and comment 🥰 Forever grateful for your ongoing support and encouragement! 🖤

    I have your formal lesson plan templates. Which one of the 70 included, did you use for this lesson?

  • @NViousBeauty

    I just have to ask---who actually plans like this? I'm being 100% in asking--the plans are just way to short for what my district expects. I would love to write plans that look like that!!! I have to include so much more. I'm super jelly!!!!

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Год назад

      I think it's important to remember that lesson planning looks different for every teacher. First, not every teacher has to submit lesson plans and/or have them checked by anyone. Second, the planning process can look very different... I never wrote detailed plans in my lesson planner BUT I created detailed slides that outlined my lessons which I used to actually teach. Plus, the amount of detail that goes into plans can vary greatly depending on the years of experience a teacher has overall and in the grade level. So to answer your question, there are plenty of teachers that plan like this or use elements of this in their planning.

    What are exit tickets, and how do you use them?

    • @WilliamQuinones
      @WilliamQuinones 9 месяцев назад +2

      Hopefully I'm not late, but it's when you give students a "reflection slip" of like 2-3 questions AFTER you have taught. It's typically done in a few minutes before they "exit" to their next class. It can be things like math problems or even asking how difficult it was to learn the topic that was taught.
      To make it simple: it's like a mini worksheet with 2-3 question that are given a few minutes before class ends. This lets you see whether students have truly understood what was taught.
