Oh, thank you, thank you. I am the stay way too late girl. Love your weekly breakdown for completing your tasks to be done by Friday. Definitely a goal for me to implement.
Vanessa, thank you for doing this video. I am a Caregiver that provides care for children, adults and pets. Recently I had a client with Autism, which was a challenge. I am now being considered for an afterschool program for 3-5 year olds. Some of the requirements for this job is to write a lesson plan. So, I appreciate on creating Lesson Plans. Thanks again...Flo
Vanessa, your approach to lesson planning is great! One thing I need to do more of is prepping ahead for the following week so I don't do it all on the weekend. I noticed that you lesson planned for half-a-day (Did you have two Pre-k classes for AM/PM?) I also only see listed four centers: literacy, math, science and dramatic play unless a nursery rhyme is a center. I would be able to manage centers better with much fewer centers myself! I am guessing you did not list writing, blocks and sensory centers for a different reason. Thanks for the tips!
I was just using examples for this episode of Elevating Early Childhood. I've taught both half-day and full-day before. I do have all centers in my classroom, maybe I only showed a few in this episode? You can see all of my classroom centers here: www.pre-kpages.com/category/learning-centers/
Thanks for watching! I've never homeschooled a child, I've only taught in public schools so I'm not sure I would do a good job addressing homeschoolers specifically. But, you can always submit your questions for the podcast here and I'll do my best to feature your question in an episode - select the big orange button to leave me an audio message: www.pre-kpages.com/listen/
Ty for sharing! I want to teach, but I do not have a degree. Preschools will typically hire non teachers for preschoolers. I just want to be as prepared as I can. Ty again for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you so much. I have always wanted to go apply as a preschool teacher or kindergarten but my problem and fear is lesson plan. And not familiar with writing lesson plans have kept me away from applying for positions.
Question- I am under the impression that a lesson plan has more details than what you are listing in the small square lesson plan template. So what are the more detailed plans called? Even a 15 minute lesson is about a one page detailed plan. Especially for new teachers or subs. Do you use a different word? Or just plan and detailed plan?
It really depends on where you work and what their requirements are. I used this type of grid for 20 years without issue in my public school position. The plans they make you write in college are typically much more detailed. My sub plans are different, you can learn more about them here: www.pre-kpages.com/substitute-teachers/
@@PreKPagesvideos thank you for your response. I’m working overseas and I needed a clear way to communicate the difference between the plan and actual execution of the plan. I’m thinking too much but I need to help some teachers who have no experience.
