Actually, I WOULD love a copy of your weekly lesson template. Yes, I'll need to change it to match my time frames and subjects, but I'd love to have a copy of yours in from of me while I am creating mine. Thank you for the small group and center templates you provided.
Thanks for connecting. I remember following lesson plans exactly like your lesson plan template as a Supply teacher in two or three schools in my past. Good organization and I love this template format for some reason. I need the support and rapport.
Angie, you continue to amaze me with your awesome and practical tips!!! After a few years of being away from teaching, I just got the Kindergarten job at the school I’d been hoping for!! I’ve taught many grades but never whole group K. I credit binge watching your content as one of the big reasons I wowed them in the interview!! Please continue putting out your amazing content and THANK YOU❤️
Am an experience Kindy Teacher , i really appreciate the way your explanation but I must watch it more than once so that i will understand what you mean. Am watching from Vanuatu, God bless you.
Welcome. I have a lot of videos I watch again and again. It’s one of the reasons I like RUclips. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. And God Bless You too. 💕
Hello, I enjoy your lesson planning methodology. It is simple and straightforward. I have used a lesson plan like this before at a couple of schools. Thank you.
Great Master class for ECE teachers. So many things to think about, plan & include. You cover it all in a practical way! Bravo! I liked those little pattern interrupts too. :)
Hello, I really appreciate this video on lesson planning. I need to be taught how to do this. I love the grey crate with the file folders. I have never seen this before.
Lesson planning can be tricky. I used to hate it but it really helped me to set a vision for the week. Sometimes it felt like a waste of time but it is definitely one of those things that needs to get done. And the crate system is something that was a big time saver for me. And I didn’t have to remember where I put stuff. It’s a system worth starting. Thanks again for your comments. I wish you knew how much they help me.
🎇I have it in the works. I just published the first in a 5 part series. The first one is called- Mistakes In Setting-Up Stations in Kindergarten and First-Grade. If you have any specific questions let me know. Stations are fun but they do require a little planning and know-how to make it worth the effort.
Do you have a specific format that they need to be in? Pretty much you need to start with the end in mind. That mean’s what do the kids need to know or be able to do. This is your objective. Now think about how you will know their level of competence. This is your assessment. What tools will you use to help you teach the lesson? Some examples are games, student generated products, class lecture etc. These will be you materials. All of these parts you can write on your lesson plan. The real part of teaching can’t be put in a lesson plan. It comes from you. How will you engage your students? How will you help them to understand and grow when the plan doesn’t work? Will you need to assess some kids differently? So the lesson plan is your framework. It’s like making soup. The lesson plan is your soup with all the ingredients but you decide the spice and any extras that will make it amazing and unique.
As a Tech-Edu, I watched the RUclips video on "Lesson Planning Made Easy - Use These 3 Templates." The video provided valuable insights into utilizing templates to write and organize classroom lessons. It's evident that effective lesson planning is crucial for educators to create engaging and structured learning experiences for their students.
No assistant. When I did small group instruction the rest of the students did stations. I did 5 or 6 videos on stations and how to keep kids busy, learning and independent. It takes a bit to get the whole station thing up and going. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking. 😀
Sure. I have a bunch of videos about setting up and running stations. Just type “stations” in my channel search bar or look at the playlists to find the one about stations. 😊
Good question. Book station was a bunch of books. Usually the ones that I read at the end of the day or themed books like frogs or valentines etc. The reading station was usually reading their own book box contents or an activity where they read and then did an activity. Or sometimes it was a read the room activity which is basically a scavenger hunt for words around the room. Hope that helps.
Sure💕. I did seven videos to help you. They are in the play list named “Stations In Kindergarten and First-Grade”. Just search on my channel using that title. If you have any questions please let me know.
I think you are referring to the first template. The first one is pretty specific to my day so that's why I didn't include it. it's too specific and I just showed it as a template to reference. The other two are general an you are able to print and use in any classroom. I can do another video on the reading/math template in the future and make a template that is more user friendly. I did mention that the 2 templates were available for download but not the first. Sorry for the confusion if I was clear.
You bet. I now have several videos to help with stations. Just look on the Teachers Making The Basics Fun RUclips Channel and find the stations playlist. 🙂
I want a video on small group activities for small group math and reading. Activities for each group: low, medium, and high. Groups that need letter and sounds ID, groups that need beginning sounds, CVC words, sight words, etc.
Hello, I am doing research related to lesson planning in different countries, I would be grateful if you could answer a few questions on this topic. 1. Do you prepare a plan for each lesson? A-yes B-no 2. How much time do you spend preparing the plan of the lesson? 3.What part of the lesson plan is the most important in your opinion?
I have created a playlist to help you find all of them. It's called "Stations In Kindergarten and First-Grade. Here's one from that play list called "The Not So Obvious Basics of Setting Up Independent Work Stations In Kindergarten and First-Grade" ruclips.net/video/p3hJahHiq-g/видео.html I hope that helps get you started.
Check out the 6 videos on stations. I did one where I showed examples of activities that work great for stations. The best one to start with is “Mistakes In Settings Up Stations In Kindergarten & First Grade” or “The Not So Obvious Basics Of Setting Up Independent Work Stations “. I hope those will get you started building stations.
As a fellow educator, I'm curious to know how using these 3 templates for lesson planning has personally impacted your teaching journey. Have you found them helpful in streamlining your planning process, and if so, what specific benefits have you experienced? Additionally, have you encountered any unique challenges while implementing these templates, and how did you overcome them?
These templates are printable but as you get to be a more “seasoned “ teacher you start to do it all automatically. And you learn to make some parts more of an emphasis than others by observing your students as you are teaching. As educators I think that trusting your observations and modifying your lesson to suit the needs of your students is super important. Yes these are templates but each teacher needs to be the best professional they can be and modify them to fit the needs of students.
Also when I did lesson plans I spent a lot of time “day dreaming” about what I wanted the lesson to look like and running through potential roadblocks. Teaching is always a bit of a performance and visualizing it in your minds eye and going through your steps and talking points is important.
Dionne you might want to try again. It should bring you to a page where you put your email in and then the resource is delivered to your email. I've had people try it before and it works. I'm wondering why it says private when it's a email and a pdf download.
Your organizational skills are sooooooo good! There are so many good ideas in this episode- it might need a second watching! 😉
You’re right. It’s important to start small then add.
Very practical organization. Thanks for sharing.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for commenting. 😊
I love how intentional you are using the week's sight words and assessment words deliberately throughout the day!
I always found that if you could revisit the object throughout the day they learned it quickly.
I teach a grade 1, 2 and 3 class, I plan what everyone is doing, but I never thought to put it in a planner. I love this idea- thank you!!
Teaching multiple grades can be tough. (I taught a grade 3,4,5 for a few years). I’m glad this method will help you.
👍❤I so agree about the magical part of first grade! I think I would embed the small group plan within the weekly plan! Very nice!
That’s a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

I have a question... How did you manage this aspect of putting attention to your students per group?
Did you have an assistant?
No assistant. When I did small group instruction the rest of the students did stations. I did 5 or 6 videos on stations and how to keep kids busy, learning and independent. It takes a bit to get the whole station thing up and going. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking. 😀

I think it can apply to all teaching situations. Great question.
When I click on the link provided for the lesson plan template it's missing the one with the time slots on it. How can I get this template?
I am away from my computer for a few days but when I get back I will see what I can do to help you. Thanks for asking.

3.What part of the lesson plan is the most important in your opinion?

@@TeachersMakingTheBasicsFun thank you very much💖
