    Hi, Michelle! I feel like your video proves that anxiety levels related to lesson planning decrease when we prepare using a template that can be reused and tweaked every year based on specific needs of students. As educators, sometimes we feel we need to reinvent the wheel due to pressures from the district or keeping up with the illusion that being busy means being effective. Using a template is definitely a way to work smarter, not harder. I think it is also a beneficial way to model efficient use of time for our students. We give them graphic organizers, charts, templates, etc. to give them a guideline to start working and to complete assignments in a timely manner. Thank you, as always, for continuing to encourage and inspire educators to be their best personal self and professional self. Have an amazing weekend! 💜

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Год назад +1

      YES! You are so right Mandy... teachers definitely feel the pressure to constantly reinvent the wheel and I think you're onto something about busy being seen as effective 😉 Also, you're so right that it's a great way to model this skill for students! We sometimes forget to apply these strategies to our own lives and practices even though we do it so effortlessly with our students. Thank you as ALWAYS for all your support and for commenting on every video... I need to give you an award or something! MVV... most valuable viewer! 😂🥰🖤

    I love how versatile all of your templates are. As a middle school French teacher, I can definitely see myself using this and I will be grabbing it today! The World Language Standards are being revised in my state and implemented in the Fall of 2023. This template will be PERFECT to plan those units with the new themes/standards. You just made my life so much easier! I purchased your label templates from your TPT store and use them all the time to organize my bins in my classroom! Best $5 I have spent. Even though you taught elementary school, I want you to know that your tips, tricks and hacks work for any subject or level. I have learned so much from your channel and I have evolved as a teacher since I discovered you in 2020 (You saved me during the lockdown and virtual teaching). I try to plan a week in advance but so far I've been basically planning each day from scratch the night before. This is a great template and lots of good tips in here! I'm currently fixated on the fact that mass and weight are being taught as the same thing though - yikesssss no wonder students get to me in middle school thinking that. Mass and Weight are TOTALLY different (mass is the amount of matter in an object; weight is the force of gravity on the object's mass).

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Год назад

      Thank you Sarah! Just to clarify... it's not that they are taught as the same, it's just that the fourth grade standard doesn't specify that you have to teach the difference. It's a little bit challenging for fourth graders to understand the difference and for the sake of the math skill, time isn't spent on differentiating between the two since that's more of a science standard. Hopefully that makes sense!

    Michelle, you always offer something new when it comes to tech! Curious...do the chips work for people you share docs with if you are working in a planning team? We are writing expanded curriculum guides for our district right now and I would want anyone to be able to open them.

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  Год назад +1

      Thank you so much and that's a great question! The sharing settings for any files you add in as a chip are preserved. This means if the file you create a chip for is set to "anyone with the link can view", then anyone who accesses it through the chip will be able to view it. But, if the file you create a chip for doesn't allow access, then anyone who tries to access it through the chip won't be able to. Hopefully that makes sense!

    Let me start by saying that I really like your channel and videos, with that being said this is what is wrong with the American education system. Lesson plans and programs of instruction should be standardized nationwide. Every teacher in every school district should not have to come up with something. This is why we as a nation have such poorly educated youth we spend more per child than any other country and have some of the worse out comes for our dollars spent.
    Parents should be able to go on the schools website and see and down load the complete class if they so desire. Total Transparency.
    This no child left behind is hurting our children, you either make a passing grade or you fail the class and don’t move up to the next grade until you do.
