I loved the use of a simple fixed camera angle, he made an empty kitchen in the middle of the day seem terrifying.
Every time I see something like that I remember the fan-cam in "Paranormal Activity 3". That Was Genius.
Leigh Whannell, would do amazing directing a Nightmare On Elm Street movie imo. Very creative and knows how to create fear with amazing concepts
Yes he would
NeneFGC they may like Peale they may like aster they may like eggers but Wan and Whannell are where it’s AT
Nate Gates
I like all of them.
Aside from the new Halloween movie, Peele, Whannell, Eggers, Wan and Mike Flanagan have reinvigorated my love for horror movies.
Yes, i would love to see him or Mike Flanagan in the command of a new NOES, with Robert Englund as Freddy one last time
Oh Fuck Yes. You just gave me a Horror Stiffie with that idea.
Literally just watched the movie 3 hours ago loved it best movie I’ve seen so far this year great acting and tension and a suprise kill that was awesome
Shit was trash
@@bluu_ice6554 never that
The Mummy (2017) budget over 100 mil, The Invisible Man less than 10....
hhhmmmmmmm
Makes it easier to get the budget back. This movie is definitely getting a sequel
Charlies angels had a similar budget amount as ford v Ferrari lol. Proves some writers, directors, and actors can't make great products, even with immense amounts of resources.
But hey I love that movie
2020 is going to be a good year for movies I think.
I have high hopes for Spiral, Candyman, The Conjuring 3 and Halloween Kills
@@DodoRibeiro-ts6po and me
With all this Corona shit... Think again :(
@Daniel Hodgson hey, idiot, the name is not Chinavirus, but Corona virus (among some other, technical ones). ok, Trampard?
@Daniel Hodgson We still have stuff left. Dune WW84, Bond and Black Widow all look great but I can see where you are coming from
I am a huge Leigh fan! Three movies under his belt and he’s rising to be a true legend in the chair. I just love this mans work.
Insidious Chapter 3 is my favorite sequel in the Insidious series. Upgrade was a badass revenge film and easily my favorite film of 2018. His Invisible Man was a great thriller and he made the kitchen during the daytime creepy and it was my favorite film of 2020. I don’t blame you he’s a great filmmaker
Congratulations on 40k brother! 40k people are blessed with your presence.
Upgrade is my favorite film and also really liked Insidious when it came out. I didn't know Whannell was making this till I watched your Saw review a few days ago. I am surprised after the success of Saw that he took awhile to begin directing. Can't wait to see this and I really hope he does a sequel to Upgrade.

YA GOT IT!?!?
I thought this was pretty good. Not so much a horror film to me and more of a thriller. I thought it flowed well and has great tension. I applaud the domestic violence aspect and how that's integrated, not to mention the great Scream nod (all Ill say!). In all a good thriller but not horror so much to me, but still enjoyable.
First half was horror. 2nd half was thriller.
@@kyleroberts8823 3rd half??
im sentinel prime there’s no such thing as a 3rd half
Aren't pretty much every Invisible man adaptation, are more down the lines of Thrillers?
Shit was trash. U invent a suit to become invisible and the 1st thing u do is stalk your ex girl. Yea. Ok.
Sleeping with the enemy, paranormal activity, and hollow man had a baby and made this ONE.
I totally had Sleeping with the Enemy vibes
I’ve always loved the original since I was a kid. Love the old monster movies. I definitely gotta see this!
The film was extremely good. It was well-written, Elizabeth Moss was fucking amazing and the little twists and turns were good.
I'm excited for this movie I think Leigh should direct another
Monster movie like dracula he talked about an idea he had on bloody disgusting and it sounds cool great review 👍
Glad you liked it Cody and glad they finally took the old classics into the modern day thru horror, I can only hope this continues.
Just love this take on the classic. A domestic abuse drama with the horror elements. Great performances and Whannel nailed the stuff that we all love about horror movies. 2020 has just got going for me. Gonna go see it again tonight. Thanks for the review again mate, take care. See ya soon.
I'm sold. I'm gonna go see it on Wednesday.
I’m seeing it also
yea ive seen only good reviews so far! im going to check it out this weekend
LOWBLOW CHAMP 😎
Saw it today. Not disappointed .
Saw The Invisible Man last night in IMAX, thought it was really well done, finally Blumhouse has made a great horror movie again. Thought the score was also really well done and Elizabeth Moss was excellent. Keep making horror movies like this Blumhouse and not ones like Black Christmas or Fantasy Island. Great review Cody.
Fantastic review Cody I love how you show passion & enthusiasm when reviewing movies you have a natural cheeky charm & always deliver great in-depth reviews, Leigh is a very good writer & director who knows how keep the audiences intrigued on the edge of there seats until the final credits.
I can't wait to see this film now you given your seal of approval (Mother Mayhem in Cody Leach we trust lol), another great movie Leigh Whannell wrote was Dead Silence that's creepy as hell thanks to James Wans direction.
This one blew me away. This one was so great with everything that Leigh Whannell accomplished and im so excited for what he does next.
Was waiting for your review. I always trust yours!! Totally going to see it this week.
I thought this movie did a fantastic job of setting the tone and atmosphere with the cinematography and score!
The original Invisible Man is a hilarious. Really some laugh out loud moments in that movie.
Strangely enough, Elisabeth Moss voiced a little girl in the Batman: The Animated Series episode, See No Evil, who's being stalked by an invisible man... who becomes invisible by wearing a special suit.
Regardless, yes, this movie is freaking awesome and, for my money, is the best Universal horror remake since 1999's The Mummy.
Wow, how ironic!
Good review son. Glad to hear they got one right for a change
Thanks padre
Haha your intro!! Been wondering about your thoughts on this!!
Plan on seeing it soon!! The trailers intrigued me but not sold me. It could have been a bad horror film or a good one. Sounds like it was a good one!
Congratulations 🎉 on 40k subscribers your deserve 40k more and beyond!
Perfect! I was waiting for this, it’s one of my most anticipated for this year and now that you reviewed it I’m definitely going to go see it.
I’m not overblowing it when I say this is the best horror film of the last decade. It instantly became one of my favourite horror movies, I was blown away by it.
You need to watch more movies, then.
@@balladofthebroken7569 or I just have a different opinion to you muppet
This movie just cemented the fact that I will no longer watch trailers in the future.
Because I did not watch the trailer, I had NO IDEA that there was going to be a literal invisible person in it. I thought maybe Invisible was a metaphor.
The shock and curiosity I had to go through along the journey of figuring out if the guy turned into a ghost, maybe a demon/poltergeist was taking advantage of her paranoia. Or, perhaps the guy is using some sort of trick and faked his death. I really wasn't sure until her sister received an email. Then I knew that the guy must still be alive.
So many twists when you go in completely blind. Loved it.
I love the evil dead t-shirt.
This was: 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Phenomenal!! Going to see this again tomorrow afternoon.
Excellent review. I feel like I know the movie without knowing the movie. Im sold.
Lol your face in the thumbnail. I love that you love this movie too (Cecil from The Horror Show loves it). I'm going to go watch this tomorrow!
Nice I was waiting on your review well worth the wait I'm gonna hit the 9pm show
Grongrats on 40k
Another stellar review by cody! Definitely gonna see it when I can!
Awesome review cody and about time they did the universal monster as horror movies that's how they were all those years ago when they first debuted
Alright now that I've seen a few people say its really good I want to go see it. Maybe...tomorrow?
almost pissed myself when she set the alarm off 😂.
Yeah there was a lot of logic issues. Kinda distracted me from really enjoying it as much as I wanted to. But it was gritty and it looked good. Good review man congrats about the 40k subs
I was waiting for your review Cody 😁. Was planning on taking the missus to see it next week cus it looked awesome. Glad to see I was right haha
Gonna see this next weekend! Great review brother
Great stuff I’m a movie guy myself but you my friend is now my favorite movie RUclipsr.
I think I am gonna buy the film when it comes out
Just finished watching this movie and immediatley came to watch your review 😂
Congratulations on 40 K
Who's the next Universal monster you want to see next?
Dracula! It's been long enough since Twilight killed the sub-genre. We need some vampires.
Cody Leach yes I absolutely agree
@@CodyLeachYT big scientifically proven facts
Sweet..finally a good horror/thriller movie!! Woohoooooo! I'm going to see this tomorrow! Nice one Cody
I’m really looking forward for this one
This was a very effective thriller, but it did have one of those moments where they just sort of hand-wave away something that seems to require a lot of explanation...SPOILERS for anyone who hasn't seen it yet: how exactly did the guy fake his own death? He didn't fake a disappearance; the cops have a picture of his apparent suicide. Whose body was that? Why did they think it was him despite fingerprints, DNA and dental records, none of which would match? That's the kind of thing that just makes my brain sit there chewing over details they want you to ignore. It's like the end of Saw, where we have to wonder how the killer lay there for a full day without moving, breathing, having to pee, scratch his nose, fart, or anything else when he could've just watched through a camera.
Congrats on 40k Cody
I am looking forward towards this going this weekend
Amazing movie saw this in theaters before they closed them because of the Covid. Can't wait to watch it again. Great review love the channel
It was great! So much tension & suspense. Exceeded expectations for sure. I'll be going to see it again.
Invisibility is my favorite power
Wow! 2020 is looking good.
Universal Monster Movies That Need A Remake By Blumhouse
1. Creature From The Black Lagoon (1954)
2. Phantom Of The Opera (1925)
3. Dracula (1931)
Congrats on the 40 k Cody and handmaid tale is a must watch.#MikeNice
Are we sure that wasnt Johnny Depp the whole time? Maybe the movie had a bunch of jump scares that we just couldnt see?
My mixed would defiantly be him punching through the car window, thats not a thing a human can do and as far as i could tell he didnt get super strength from his *spoiler*? He was framed as just being invisible, but i dont know, he seemed to super natural at points. I guess its not a big deal, i just want to complain.
Great review, brotha!
There is supposed to be a spin-off of the Invisible Man starring Elizabeth Banks, titled The Invisible Woman. It's based on her own pitch and she's supposed to be directing and producing it.
So! I finally got a chance to watch this last night and I will say I was pleasantly surprised. I was entertained. I was creeped out. It had moments that made me rewind to see what the hell I had just seen (The restaurant scene). It was thoroughly enjoyable.
I liked the movie. I thought it was slow in the beginning until the middle. The ending was awesome
Also, a movie that didn't divide people because of politics or childhoods being destroyed or whatever. 😁
@Euroheat0022 IKR
Leigh whannell should direct a dead space movie
Yes! Thank u!
spoiler
After that ending scene with Cecilia killing Adrian, there is no way to tell if he actually was the one that did those things, it could've been the brother that set the whole thing up because of the money in his brother's will that went to Cecilia, faked his brothers suicide and kidnapped him, then the whole movie after is him stalking Cecilia and never leaving her until he is caught and Adrian is found
I'm probably looking too much into but I don't know
It was so good! I'm planning to see with friends this time to see their reaction LOL
Did like the movie, but maybe it's because I forgot writing and logic for horror movies, but it bugged me to no end some of the character decisions especially Moss's character. Also why do a kill in a restaurant where there would surely be cameras? Good movie but like all horror movies, terrible decision making and plot questions.
I enjoyed the film as well Cody and I love the action scenes in the movie! The stuff where the invisible man was attacking people and fighting his girlfriend in the kitchen was so cool and the special effects were awesome man!
I loved the movie but there’s something that is bothering me. How exactly did she get her name cleared for killing her sister? I know she obviously didn’t do it but there was literally witnesses all over the place that would make it really hard to defend her. And if it’s because the authorities knew about the suit then wouldn’t they be suspicious of her husband dying in very similar fashion also getting his throat cut? She was literally the only person there with him and if they knew of the suit wouldn’t they figure it out pretty quick she staged his suicide? Only things confusing me that hopefully someone can explain. I’m guessing the authorities didn’t know about the suit because she took it off Tom before they got there but then how is her sisters death explained?
Luckily I've seen the movie which was so freakin' awesome!! But for those who haven't seen it ... Yeah, you kinda gave away some of the plot *Spoiler Alerts*
*SPOILER ALERT*
Regarding your mixed aspect, remember, the brother was also in on the whole thing. Adrian was probably at the meeting where she is told of the 5 million she was left etc and followed her from there, and after that it’s just him going wherever she goes.
Which is why I need to rewatch it. That reveal seemed to write itself out of the plot holes but I'm not sure til I watch it again.
Cody Leach yea, feels good to have a good thriller this time of year don’t it? 😎 I was glued through the entire thing. This was much needed after the shitbombs “The Grudge” and “The Turning”
Cody Leach also, upon rewatch let me know, not sure if it was the writing or the acting, but I just had a feeling the whole time that the brother was in on it, wondering if you got that same vibe....
I thought this was a great movie! This was definitely one of the more unsettling horror movies i've seen! The only issues I had with it was like you said a few logic issues. But also, this is a spoiler which I won't mention, i dont know if you call it a twist or a plot point or whatever you wanna call it, when it actually comes to explaining this invisible man, I wasn't crazy about what they did with it. But other than that, i had a great time with this movie and I will be seeing this one again!
Yeah I'm a big fan of Leigh wannell
great review
Great review
Great review. Only just watched 'The Invisible Man'. Really enjoyed it 👌
I absolutely loved this film it had my heart racing the whole time. That's really the first time I saw thay actress she is great. I'm also so happy there was no comedy.
Thank you Cody. I'm even more excited to see this movie now!
Looks like Leigh Whannell is directing Escape from New York next. I don’t know how I feel about that yet lol
Really looking forward to seeing this one
It was good but not Leigh’s best work. Upgrade was amazing!
Great romantic film that I took my girlfriend to. Just about a guy who loves a girl... I really hope Whannell keeps the cinematographer who did this and Upgrade for his future films. I looked up the film on Wiki to read about something I was confused on (don't do that till after you see it) and noticed they're planning on making The Invisible Woman. It was a story pitched by the amazing Elizabeth Banks. After the highly successful reboot of Charlie's Angels, I think we'll have another winner on our hands with that direction...
Good movie but there are some questionable moments. The sister completely ditching her over an email, even after she explained it wasn’t her. As if she’d disown her that easily. The knife that killed the sister in the restaurant, where did that come from?? he had to have the knife, so a floating knife would have been making its way through the restaurant to her table. And him getting the paint off his suit so easily, that suit was covered in ridges, there’s no way it would clean off 100%.
I like how a movie can just be all out and crazy just like this one and i like it
Damn, from the trailers I thought this movie would just be ok, but I've heard nothing but absolute praise for this movie. I'm sold.
There was a Invisible Man TV show on SciFi channel back in the late 90s . It went on for a season or 2.
Hey Cody
Who's the best horror movie hero/heroine?
Nancy Thompson (nightmare on elm st)
Sidney Prescott (scream)
Jaime Lee Curtis (Halloween)
Andy Barclay (Childs Play)
Jennifer Love Hewitt (I know what you did last summer)
Brilliant lead performance. Fun movie
I need to watch this movie, this is something I would watch. Leigh Whannel my man, great job
I love how Joe Dante got inspiration from the Invisible Man to create Gremlins. Especially with the original Invisible Man being comedic and maniacal at the same time.
Just watched this movie. It was fantastic. 8.5/10.
Just got done seeing this a few hours ago. It was awesome.
You Forgot about Van Hellsing because it's in that category of action monster mash movies. That one was pretty good.
Cody this is gonna be your favorite horror movie of the year
Universal got one for sure 🔥🔥🔥 - Pap Brady
6:49 Headphones on full blast. That scared the s*** out of me!
I love your shirt Cody! Army of Darkness is the shit lol.
Out of curiosity when are you doing the Die Hard reviews
