I actually prefer this one a little over the first and I LOVE the first. I just think there was more comedy that landed for me personally and a bit more plot and character development. I didn't even pay attention to the soundtrack. I kinda wish they did more with the whole evolved zombie thing and Luke Wilson doppleganger character, but outside of that I enjoyed the hell out of it. Glad you like it too. I haven't heard much negative about this film yet

I love the original Zombieland so much! But Iove Z2 a little more. I was highly satisfied.
The only instance of a comedy sequel matching the original that comes readily to mind is Jackie Chan's Police Story 2. Admittedly those films are action-comedies rather than straight-up comedies, but that fits somewhat here.
Nice to see you liked this (the intro made me think you hadn't), so I'll probably go see it.
when i first saw the new zombieland, i was like damn, this could be one of the best sequels i’ve ever seen. Perfect continuation.
It was nice having these characters back and I hope we get a 3rd Zombieland film.
I had such a good time with this movie. It feels natural despite the time jump. Such a good time. Some of the jokes went on too long but I was laughing all the way. 8.5/10 Now where's Zombieland 3 Cardio?

With the exception of Abigail Breslin, who was a child at the time, the main characters aged incredibly well. They could have easily pulled off an "El Camino" and set it immediately after the first. It probably would have been more believable than El Camino actually. Is it too much to ask to lose 15-20 pounds before production? He had six years.. Jesse really loves to cook lol. Still enjoyed both movies.
The Bill Murray post credit scene had me in pain laughing 🤣🤣🤣👏

Great review Cody you have perfectly summed up this sequel buddy, I to was a bit miffed we didn't have a rocking soundtrack but on the whole this was a good entertaining sequel which I wasn't expecting after a 10 yr gap.
Not quite as good as the original but as sequels go they at least added some character development & not just retread over the original movie.
I like it better than the first however for me the only disappointing thing was I felt there wasn’t enough zombies and zombie killing action in this one I’d prefer a little more action but I still loved this movie and I was a huge fan of the first one.
One of the positives for me in the first one was the isolation with the 4 characters, even though there was a few other characters that popped up here and there, but this one didn't have that. I would still give it a 4/5 though it was good

I was worried near the start of the movie they might coast on it ,but yeah they delivered a good zomcom. Really nice to be there for a franchise that hasn't been ruined. Lookin at you upcoming Terminator ,and by lookin at you I mean in disgust.
Tbh i personally hated zland 2. Thought they were pathetically trying to recreate the first one. Total copy n paste
I found this sequel way more boring than the first one, which I enjoyed quite a lot. Things aside, Ash vs Evil dead came 30 years after the film trilogy, and that delivered everything and more what we expected.
American reunion was a pretty good comedy sequel that came out almost 10 years after American wedding. That being said I can’t wait to see this movie!

Nice review, Cody! I thought this was a fun movie, but I still prefer the original film. That one came out at just the right time, as we were headed into the zombie popularity resurgence. This sequel is a tad too delayed in my opinion and unfortunately some of the comedy felt a bit forced to me. Still enjoyable, but not one that will become a go-to for me. I definitely agree with you about Little Rock though. Kind of strange that they pushed her character to the sidelines in favor of some of the newer character.
The Shaun of the Dead reference was one of the best moments.
i haven't seen it. Cody should i see it in IMAX or is it not needed?

Thought as far as comedies go that come out 10+ years later this was damn good! Actually probably the best comedy sequel ever to come out 10+ years after the original. Maybe besides Clerks 2.

Hey Cody I'm just curious almost a year ago you started reviewing the Candyman franchise but I noticed you never got to the third movie. I'm just wondering if you forgot or you're still recovering from Candyman 3 because the 2nd reason is very understandable
Honestly just lost sight of it. I really only planned on reviewing the first and loved it so much I wanted to keep going. Then the 2nd was basically trash and everyone says the 3rd is way worse. I'll get to it eventually just was never a priority.
Really enjoyed this movie
I'd say that this was as good as the first one, and the first one was GOOD! It's a shame that they didn't put metal into the soundtrack this time as it would've taken everything up a level, and (in my opinion) made this superior to the original. I can just imagine the monster truck scene with Mototrheads 'Killed by Death' as a soundtrack. That would've been genius!

This one fits right in and takes off right after the last movie enough it feels like one big movie. been looking forward to a sequel to this movie for 10 years and i got it and i liked it..all i care about..

Zombieland two should have happened like two or three years after the original. But the actors wanted a good script and not some water down bullshit. So it was straight and if we get a third. One of the main four got to die.#MikeNice

Only thing that bothered me was the new cast of characters. Horrible. Just God awful. Rest of the film was pretty decent
