Diese Art (im doppelten Sinne) die Gefühlskälte mit einem ruhigen Feuer, das in eine ewige Glut übergeht, auszustatten, ist sein Geheimnis.

A remarkable 'early' portrait of Cohen -- genuine, thought-driven and so so charming and youthfully wise.

Too bad there are no subtitles to identify the various people talking . . . it would have provided a lot of valuable context.

The first guy talking - he's the best poet of Canada ever.........WELL, he was A MUSICIAN. GET IT? And he was sooooooo great, sooooooo loved, & sooooo appreciated BECAUSE he was a GREAT MUSICIAN.......not "just a poet". The Swedes gave Bob Dylan the Nobel Prize for "literature", and he was so offended he DID NOT GO TO PICK UP THE MEDAL & THE PRIZE$$. Why? Because he IS a musician - he did not write literature. But then, after his snit-fit, some friends must have urged him to get his money & medal, and he found out he DID NOT have to appear in person IF he gave a VIDEO ACCEPTANCE. So HE DID. He made a great, kind talk, as if he were talking to children, about 3 books that had a great affect on him growing up (it's online). I just remember "Moby Dick" was one of them. (It's online.) MUSIC is not Literature. MUSIC is not Poetry - it transcends poetry in mysterious ways..........I love Bob, & I love Leonard forever........... great musicians.....only come along rarely.

Lady, he was a poet first. That's the reason he became a musician. The guy was talking about Canadian poets. GET IT ? Don't get upset for the fact that the guy was comparing Cohen with other poets. It takes nothing away from Cohen GREAT talent as a singer and a musician. SMDH LOL

lovely story on great man...but what is with the lady walking behind Leonard on the street, she has her hand up covering her eyes? "Do her eyes compare like the morning sun not that I did compare but Ido compare now that you're gone".

In the stand up clips Cohen is inebriated. I love Leonard Cohen but a portion of his output and performances were diminished by alcohol.
