From what I understand from Mr. COHEN , altho he spent some time in a monastery ..he wasnt religious ! BUT HE HAD A GOD GIVEN TALENT !, soo WHAT IS IT LIKE SINGING TO THE ANGELS ???
To be frank and honest, I have first of all never even heard of this man. I am now reading a book at this moment, and while I'm reading one of the characters in the book is a musician, and she mentions this man's name, and this song. So I stop reading and look up this man's name and surprised that he actually exists, and does being this song hum🤔. What kind of music is this? Big Band? In the era of singers such as Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby?? Please let me know! Thank you..I'm sorry I can't appreciate this music, so I will not say anything negative about it.
@Roberto Incutti I'm sorry, but I must admit that this was the very first time I have ever heard of this singer, but the name of the song was so intriguing I just had to hear it. However, I have seen the movie and just loved it...
@Roberto Incutti, las influencias no son irlandesas o británicas, son sefardíes, mediterráneas... Y el autor es uno de los poetas más brillantes de las dos últimas generaciones, a la altura de Lorca, Cavafis o Vallejo. De sus 8 poemarios y dos novelas te recomendaría "The Spice-box of the Eart" (1961) y "Book of Longing" (2007)... y de sus discos "Songs of Love and Hate" (1971), especialmente una canción "Avalanche".
Agreed. That lived-in quality. I discovered Leonard Cohen after his passing yet still feel him close when I lusten to his voice and see that certain smile.
He is genius. He talks around things and then hits you between the eyes with truth. He knows its poetry. He is a poet and a master of poetry in song He transends the poet though by making it a visual story as if a movie or such . He has lived so much but still is humble in way. Don't mean to ramble. I am not a poet but I lvoe music and literature. he is one of the masters of the modern age with no doubt.

I'll never listen to that song the same way again. I thought it was seeing the beginning and end of love all at once and the journey of life that you can choose to go on with that partner. "Dance me to the children who are asking to be born" always moved me and I thought it meant that you could "dance" though all of life with this person or walk away from them when the actual dance is done.

Hear you from the depths of my soul. Thirteen years in my case, and our parents each with decades together setting the example. "The Man I Almost Married"
in Italian by Ana Marie Ceuca
and " Why War?" by FredGold&LyndaFaye
The interviewer as well as "today's " news anchors, are so pressed, pushed and influenced, it's no wonder he wasn't informed; Doesn't matter, Leonard carried it off so well regardless! One of the most sensitive interpreters of his own creations there is out there-or "was" out there, actually?!A "Natural" such as a Frank Sinatra ? Still like to come back to this song with the interview February 24, 2024.Sorry, Bob Dylan should NEVER have tried to reach the beauty of the textures that Leonard Cohen "made his own." So sensual, so beautiful...And btw I LOVE Bob Dylan too!

Cómo es triste escucharlo hoy. Hasta la eternidad, Leonard Cohen.
где сегодня услышать такое исполнение в образе настоящего мужчины?Светлая память.
Wspaniały wykonawca i Jego utwory!
Adorável letra e musica e... cantor ..então...Tudo é vida. Obrigada, Leonardo COHEN . Os ceús estão dançando boa música ...
I love this song, makes me cry to think my marriage only lasted 17 years, he was supposed to be with me for 100 years. Divorced 1999. I still love him.. sad
Hear you from the depths of my soul. Thirteen years in my case, and our parents each with decades together setting the example. For a time I couldn't listen to music, watch television shows, or view films, because anytime anyone made any statement of commitment, I had to scream about it being false and momentary and not to believe it.

I love this man and I love the music and I am Juanita Morris
Lord, Leonard graciously tolerated some terribly inane, even offensive interviewers!
artist he is
Great Poet!
Great in his simplicity. The same as Pushkin & Vysotsky in russia.
Some place of Siberia is making applause over the roof for him!
Thanx for your video, dear a1000kissesdeep.
Lindo demais ❤
Oh oh he was such a great beautiful man.
Still listen to him every day .

"Dance Me To The End Of Love"
Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic 'til I'm gathered safely in
Lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Oh let me see your beauty when the witnesses are gone
Let me feel you moving like they do in Babylon
Show me slowly what I only know the limits of
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the wedding now, dance me on and on
Dance me very tenderly and dance me very long
We're both of us beneath our love, we're both of us above
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the children who are asking to be born
Dance me through the curtains that our kisses have outworn
Raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to your beauty with a burning violin
Dance me through the panic till I'm gathered safely in
Touch me with your naked hand or touch me with your glove
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love
Dance me to the end of love

Leonard Cohen odszedl od nas zostawiajac trwaly slad swojej pracy, ktory bedzie przypominal nam sie w piosence " Dance Me To The End of
Love " z roku 1985. Sluchajac jej mozna sie latwo zrelaksowac, nie mowiac juz o kilkakrotnej powtorce po przebudzeniu sie i sluchaniu jego wywiadu z pobytu w Australi w 1985 roku. Tak wiec "Leonard Cohen 1985"
za ogrom pracy i radosc innym Bog Zaplac.
