I miss him the minute I wake up as he isn't there to bring me my coffee, I miss him when I go downstairs as he's not sitting at the table, waiting with my breakfast, I miss him as I can't hear " I love you darling " which he used to say many times, every day, I miss him hugging me and telling me how beautiful I am. Everything is gone now and it feels like the sun doesn't shine the same way anymore. Two weeks ago my 97 year old father-in-law passed away in his bed as my husband and i were visiting him and my mother-in-law, who was in the bed next to his. She passed away 11 hours later at the age of 93. This was their favorite song in their last years. We played it as my mother-in-law's casket was lowered and placed on top of her husband's. I used to hear this song in the psychiatric unit, while they were trying to save my life after a suicide attempt, there were horses running images, on the tv, while they were trying to bring me back...whenever I hear this song, I remember the pain I felt, and also the will I felt wanting to have one more chance to life. Pamiętam swoją Mamę w kuchni, pamiętam ją jak śpiewała tą piosenkę, pamiętam jak ją przeżywała, to były jej emocje. Cztery dni temu miała pogrzeb. Prosiłem, aby ta piosenka była obecna. This makes me so emotional, my husband died 31/12/2001, aged 42. We were together from ages 14 & 16 and married for 18 years. Those were the best years of my life, and I miss him so much. Our two children keep me going thankfully...but it’s been hard all by myself. So proud of the way they turned out and I see my beloved in both my son and my daughter ❤️

My girlfriend of 55 years died this week (9-16-24) after a 17-year fight with cancer, most of which she won. I am listening to different types of music because I have not been able to fathom a world in which my friend Anita is no longer on the planet. I feel sad and yet so disconnected from the loss of her -- it's hard for me to believe that I will never hear her voice again -- at least not in this lifetime.

Two weeks ago my 97 year old father-in-law passed away in his bed as my husband and i were visiting him and my mother-in-law, who was in the bed next to his. She passed away 11 hours later at the age of 93. This was their favorite song in their last years. We played it as my mother-in-law's casket was lowered and placed on top of her husband's. My brother passed away suddenly on December 2nd 2018.Leonard Cohen was his hero since the 70's. I chose this song as part of his funeral. I miss my brother so much. I bought him a poster of Leonard Cohen in the 70's. Was framed and on every wall when he moved house a few times. Through Leonard 's music my brother still lives on in my heart and my soul. 💕💕💕

Looking at her and reflecting on the years past wets my eyes. She is my superhero. She is strong. Ponownie ją zobaczyłem oczyma lat 80, kiedy jest w kuchni i się krząta w oparach Leornarda. To było wczoraj, jest dzisiaj a tak naprawdę 30 lat mineło.

What a moving and beautiful music video. Not something one can say about many music videos these days.
I remember my parents dancing on their 60th anniversary and it pains me to see that old woman sitting in that single chair. Dad's been gone 12 yrs and Mom is 98. This video gives me chills.
