You may know that if you undo the 4 bolts to dismount the mower engine from the deck -‘d remove blade you can sell the engine as irony aluminum and the blade as prepared. And mower handles can fold at any each joint to fold the whole machine flat enough to fit in a car trunk
I just got rid of a lawnmower with aluminum engine. My local scrap yard says irony aluminum is the same price as steel scrap so I dont even bother removing the engines anymore or even separating out dirty aluminum. Its all just shred.
Now that I got a truck thanks to your craft every Friday see what’s on the curb and Saturday wake up early do a little scraping before the yard closes at 12
I thought you were going back for the tool test before you went home. So I hope you put that in your next video so we know if you want to get it or not. Have a great weekend. 😊🤗🥰💪👍💲💰
Just gotta say, man, I've always enjoyed watching your videos. I used to do the same thing here in Middle Tennessee until the cops kept giving me trouble. Even when I had permission from the foremans of each site telling me i could scrounge whatever dumpsters i wanted to my heart's desire lol, those rat bastards still gave me flack. But I'm proud of ya, bud!
They’ll take any excuse they can think of to bother you. It’s not like they could be dealing with actual criminals or anything!! No no, bug the scrapper just trying to make a few bucks. That makes sense I guess.
@Manhandle730 Amen to that. It seems like they'd rather pester some poor sap who's minding his own business and causing practically zero harm to anyone else in the world except maybe myself, climbing into dumpsters lol, instead of doing some form of "good" in their community and line of work. They seem to always go for the lowest hanging fruit. I can't stand most of them , with their always-crappy attitudes and defense demeanors.
That was a pre-1960 stove and those elements are "the hot ones" you will see the difference with all the rest. 5 years ago they paid 35 cent pound, but not anymore.
Many municipalities have a problem with people driving around with bolt cutters. They don't care if you have them at home but carrying them around throws up all sorts of flags.
There is a Harbor Freight in Great Falls Montana 5 hours from you. Next time you or a friend have to visit the border, do a HF run. Straps are normally one of most common items they have a sale on
My yard just does aluminum, copper, and everything else is considered metal. They dont deal with it in grades. They have also forgotten to weigh my car in the past. I can try another yard, but it's so much further away and not worth the effort. It's rather obnoxious.
Some firewood, you crack me up, 5 minute burn, geez man, grab it all, mitre saw minutes worth and nice pile of wood to burn for the workshop, 🤣 that bit you picked up, you do make me laugh and left the tool cabinet worth money or even using yourself, I hope it was still there when you went back for it, remember what you said about taking the good stuff first trip😉
@ no in Calgary your trash must be in a black, blue or green bin or a black bag with a special orange tag. If you just dump it outside your garage anyone could take it but the city will not
@@Trash_Moneydamn really? In Oregon they aren’t that picky. If it’s ferrous it all goes in the same pile. The only stuff you need to bother cleaning is non ferrous metals. Lol you pulled out the safety glasses and for a split second, thinking they were for us the audience, I was confused as to why you didn't put them on the camera 😂❤
Noob questions. Why did you take the coils home? What's in them? And if you were to just take them in, what do the sell as? I also found that my local yard calls prepared 3' and it's a whopping $10 more/ton 🙃
Come on Drake - put your back into it, that axel and the hernia are its own reward. And it's almost Feb and still not even one snowflake has fallen here...
After all these years, you still haven't figured out that you're going about scrapping all wrong. Government Auctions for scrap is the way to go. It's work but it pays 10 times more than what you're doing. You can spend $3000 at a government auction and in seven or ten days turn out in the ten to fifteen thousand dollars.
He would have to upgrade his truck to do that. He’s coming along, at least he isn’t driving a car still. He probably makes a decent amount off of RUclips. Plus, free is a very good price.
Really liked your videos, I've been watching them for a while. But I was not very impressed about dumping the gas in the lawnmowers on the street like that. Do not really match with your "leave it better then you found it" motto.
I came here to say the same thing. Just fold the handles so the mowers can be set so they won't spill in truck. Also better spilled gas at scrap yard where it happens anyways instead of all over the city or at least pour in gravel rd where plants aren't growing. A very disappointing act Thub.
1 - You are a lunatic for leaving those tool chests. They resell for almost new prices. Also, tool chests, keep them! 2 - Stove elements are a core of thick nichrome (nickle-chrome) wire, then a chalky ceramic paste, wrapped in a skin of soft iron (not steel). The chrome in nichrome is ~20%, so, double what it'd be in stainless, and, it's the chrome the yards pay for in stainless. You might be able to get stainless prices for them (though, they'd be ripping themselves off to offer that, as a whole there's not much chrome in them considering they're only like, 20% nichrome). 3 - You sure those muffin tins weren't aluminum? Usually they're aluminum, just so thick you're not expecting it to be because of how heavy it is.
dumping gas on the ground? 👎 take them home and drain gas and oil, pull motors and get more money than just shred. and that husky tool chest was worth 200 all day
Just here to say, I’m not worried about whether or not you picked the tool cabinet up. Too many whiners in the comment section!!! Nut up you weirdos!! Go do it yourself if you’re so special.

You forgot to go back for the tool cabinet.

Thanks for the video. The wind sound makes me shiver.
Nice move with the stove. Check next time if it has fuses, there is a nice copper bar there
That animal cage is close to 200.00 at Pet Smart in Calgary. I’d ask 100.00 for it . Thanks for an entertaining video as always 😊
I'll buy it for 150

Great content as usual. The 'stove coils' are paid as irony aluminum at the scrap yard I frequent in Philadelphia.
I have gone done a recent scrapping worm hole on RUclips. N been loving your videos. 👍👍 from western New York subbie
My yard takes those burner eyes as Stainless steel after you take the steel y bracket off the back.
It took me decades to discover that tie down straps were sold in stores!!! 😂😂😂
they say professional muffin trays. I say free ingot molds

Wow. Just poured out the gas. Thats savage. Pass up the tool chest for pennys of scap. Sad
Great job as always, keep up the good work!
Go back for the tool box!😊
Those stove burners at my yard are considered stainless without the tin cross piece
I was gonna say that you should get a dirty stainless price
I pop the tin piece off real quick with my pliers n get clean stainless

bolt cutters to cut rebar lot cheaper than cutting blades

Did you try to put your lawn cutter bot' in top. More space
If you’re open to dumping gasoline in the alley then free venting ac units shouldn’t make you feel guilty.
Right!? I was a little sad to see that. That doesn't feel like leaving it better than you found it..
Gas will evaporate. Refrigerant is way worse. I don’t care, I dump both of em. China is still worse that I could ever be.
I have had that same tool roll away for like 3 decades keep it.
Nice to see your cop compliant with your new straps.....all right all right all right ......pesky blue dudes
As a fellow calgarian I’m pretty shocked that so many ppl leave so much trash in the ally ways
Isn’t it out for pickup?

Hey Drake, where's the snow? Isn't it supposed to be several meters thick?
The tool chest caused me anxiety 😁
Go to a therapist
Nice finds. Good Job!! So you get prepared for the rebar?? I hear some places have a separate category for rebar.
You only get prepared for rebar if it's under 4 ft, if not it pays less than regular steel

Working with metal always has a pain price... either blood, bruises or cuts... sigh... onward!
But you didn't go back for the black tool chest which you could have sold with the cage.☹
Crazy. You had plenty of room for the tool box if you would moved somethings around
Tie down straps!?!?! Dangit, Thub!
Aren't those burners made of tungsten? I'm curious to know what happens with them.
Stove elements, titanium, or something.
Nah, they're plutonium
We asked permission…..basically. Hahahahaha
i believe those stove top elements are dirty stainless steel?
those stove burners are stainless
the lawnmower handles fold up just losen the nuts
Technically the stove burners are the same steel as rotors.
G day R U serious I thought it was something else? Ths
Yards call them dirty because most of them have tin bits on them. Take the tin bits off and you're good though.
Get yourself a diamond wheel it lasts longer than those your using
Question… is this a Canada thing where people leave metals outside to be recycled?
We do that in the US also, those of us with back alleys know If you want something gone just set it in the alley. 😊
