- This is a review video of the 2016 Scion FR-S! Great small sports car with excellent handling and an awesome look! Dark blue with the 6 speed automatic transmission. The FR-S is a comparable car to my 2.0 Genesis Coupe, and I really do like this car a lot. It has an extremely sporty interior and a very low center of gravity.

I got this car when I was 65. I leased it and I love it so much I decided to keep it. Drove the first 2 winters(Northern Wisconsin), and got stuck a few times. Now I run Blizzaks on it and have no real issues. Just celebrated my 70 th birthday-still love it. It is an awesome daily driver. You don’t have to be young to enjoy this car.
My boss and I have frs he’s around his 50s and I’m 30 so any age can have this car

I personally feel like the stitching on the inside should match the exterior. The black should have the red stitching, the blue with blue stitching and so on. The red clashes with the vehicle, especially if your fr-s is any other color but black or silver.

No. Only in the states was this car called a scion frs. Everywhere else its a toyota gt86 and the 86, fr-s and subaru brz are all the same mechanicially. If anything parts will be pretty common
I used to own one just like that one, same color too! Now you mentioned that those front markers are fog lamps! They're not! They are turn signals, the fog lamps where an option if you wanted them from the dealer. Boy do I miss that car! Great video thought 👍

So let me get this straight... it has a stick shift but you can change it to where it’s automatic?
No it's just an automatic.
The auto is a 6 speed you can shift it with the gear selector or the paddle shifters if you choose, or leave it in auto. The manual is a normal 6 speed manual.

However, I would chose my 2.0T again. The power I have is soo much fun to play around with and even when merging into heavy traffic, I can shift at 4k and get up to speed extremely quick. With the FR-S, I would have to redline every gear. My first car was a tC, and I sold it because it was way to slow.
I love the sporty aspects of the FR-S, the seats are better than my Gens, but it is just too slow. It handles a little better then the Gen, but it is just too much slower. The FR-S is great, but it is more at home on the track and mountains as a fun manual sports car. The Gen has so much more luxury daily driving characteristics, and is still a beast out on the track and mountains.
I am waiting for either a turbo FR-S, or the Kia GT-4 Stinger Concept.

Honda4RideRed yeah, i dont hate against them, i actually saw a toyota GT86 with a TRD wide spoiler and thought it was nice. a 2jz -gte wold be crazy but probably gotta charge us 35k-40k and people wont buy it, because at that price its just pushing it.

I just did a review on this one lol, I never bought it..but I'm sure they very reliable and great to own.
Toyota's last rear wheel drive sports car was actually the MR2 Spyder that was discontinued in 2005, not the Supra. Just saying lol
I think he means in the traditional sense. The MR2 was a mid engine car. The Supra was in deed the last front engine RWD sports car Toyota ever made until the 86, but if you want to get technical thats not even true because of the Lexus LFA

Go with used. These cars are easy to find for $15k. You will be throwing a ton of money away buying pretty much any new car. Especially an FRS

0-60 in 7 seconds? My grandmother's 2011 Chrysler 300 gets almost a second faster than that.

As much as the FRS is a lot of fun, that will be a hard step down in power from a 350z. Even with my 2.0t Genesis, I wouldn't be happy going to an FRS because of the power.
it would be cool as shit if the stitching matched the outside color or something.. i find anything but black, white or red looks strange when the colors dont match... i got a black one!

This car focuses more on the look and less on the speed/HP I'll say its worth the money ,I mean I have a v6 camaro that yet will destroy it but its a very nice car .

No, it's an automatic with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, you can also shift using the plus/minus on the shifter.

It's said to have 200 hp stock but honestly STOCK straight off the lot I'd say between 185-190. That's no tune. With a standard tune you'd probably get around 220
So there is a gt86, a brz and now a scion. Same exact car just 3 different names.

For a 2016, it lacks severely in interior tech.
Twenty5 Productions they put most of the money into things that matter, also if they started adding new tech inside, the price would have gone up, which would ruin the whole ‘affordable’ aspect

This Scion FRS has a Boxer 4 cylinder engine. 4 pistons opposing each other
4 cylinder = V4 , 6 cylinder = v6 engine ect.

This car is way over priced. If it was in the low 20s it would make more sales. 26k for 200hp and nothing special about the plastiky interior. Car is a waste of money.

Yeah you may get it a little cheaper but whos to say the kid before you didnt drive the piss out of it. Honestly not too many older guys would buy this a few would but mainly the younger people would. Usually younger guys dont take care of things because they think it will last forever.
200hp doesn't have anything to do with the price of this car. This car was made for the amazing driving experience. I have been debating a 2010 wrx, (price 15,000, with 70,000 miles) and 2013 FRS (17,000, with 25,000miles) I just did a test drive on both, and I was completely blown away with the driving experience of the FRS, and how fun it was to drive, and I came into it thinking I would hands down want the wrx, but now i am completely in love with the frs, and until you drive one, you cant say shit! haha
Yeah I disagree with you for several reasons. First Hp does come into play on the purchase price of a car. Its one of the main factors. Second I test drove the BRZ when they first came out and to me the car is extremely under powered. The car litterally struggles after 80mph. As for corners it did perform well but nothing to get overly excited about. If you feel its the car for you then by all means buy it but to me its too much money for what it is, and too much money would need to be put in it to get it worthy in my opinion. The cars suspension still could use upgrading which cost more, same goes,for the engine and if you want to make over 325hp you might as well save up 8-10 k to make that happen. Oh and before i forget the cheap bland interior just screams I should cost cheaper than 25k.

It wasn't a cold start lol, the car was running while I was reviewing the interior and the start up was much later...the car was warmed up first....that's the beauty of editing..
